If you put a rubber band around the "scoop" portion, then the funnel top will stay put when you slide it over.

I've got a GREAT idea for all these Emergency radios: one of the radio bands should be TV audio so while you're sitting there powerless, at least you can listen to your favorite TV shows. EZ to design into these radios and worth every penny while you're sitting there doing nothing IMHO.

The Midland ER series has easily removable/rechargeable lithium ion batteries along with a large AA battery compartment. It's a better radio. However, I just wish they would include SW with all of these emergency radios.

It doesn't help anyone hiking. When hiking you need to hook the sawyer up to a hydration bag in a way that you can drink from it. It's the #1 problem for hikers today. Please make a video about how to do that.

Seems like a big waste of paper towels. There is an excellent, reusable option that will remove all visible silt from water, and prolong the life of your filter. Search "Millbank Bag" kzread.info/dash/bejne/qJWY0JmHicWzhZM.html&ab_channel=HiddenValleyBushcraft

Look at all those fiddly piece parts? Syringes, adapters, on-and-on. Use a HydroBlu instead. It looks like a Sawyer-Mini, but flows like a Squeeze (80% of a Squeeze anyway). HydroBlu has all the attachments built-in, yet weighs much less than Squeeze. HydoBlu has tethered end-caps and thus requires no bandana. HydroBlu has 28mm female threads built-in on both ends, so one can attach the CNOC lake/stream water on one end and the filtered Smart-Water bottle on the other for an end-to-end gravity system (no squeezing). HydroBlu is smaller and lighter for sleeping when it's cold out. HydroBlu flush requires no syringe, simply remove the CNOC and squeeze the Smart-Water bottle to flush.

I wouldn’t pay any attention to the indicator in a bag of absorbers. It will only tell you that at least one of them is good. As I use them, I give each one a squeeze and flex it. If it’s soft and pliable it’s good, if it’s crunchy it’s bad.

Hi Russell, I stumbled upon your channel a few days ago when looking online for reviews of the ThorFire lantern. I ended up watching all of your other videos, as I also have an interest in emergency preparedness. I wanted to thank you hugely for the time and effort that you've put into making these videos. You are such a natural communicator. So many of these kinds of preparedness channels focus on irrelevant stuff. You know the kind I mean "if you wanna prepare, then you need 8000 guns, an anti-EMP device and 500 years worth of freeze-dried pasta, else the government will track you down...". Sadly that puts many everyday people off the idea of being that bit more prepared, which at a sensible level is good for individuals, families and communities. Your channel is a wonderful, and enchanting antidote to the unhealthy side of the hobby. Thank you, and best wishes to you and your family across the pond there!

Where you wrote, '...focus on irrelevant stuff. You know the kind I mean "if you wanna prepare, then you need 8000 guns"...' I would proffer to you that it only requires one gun and one bullet to take EVERYTHING you have in 'preps' etc. away from you, up to and including your life. Everything is important. You can make it 3-5 days without water, 45-75 days without food but less than a second if you have no way to defend yourself from the aforementioned. People will become animals if the worst happens.

do you need gas tape for the connection to tank and can you not use a filter and also the high heat only works with two 1 lb tanks so do you need 2 20lb tanks conected both sides for the high heat setting? and also if you have two 1 lb tanks connected will it draw from both tanks for low and middle heat or is the right side stank strrictly for when you use high heat so if you didnt use high heat would the two tanks make you last longer on low or middle heat with two tanks rather than just one 1lb tank connected?
