Just thinking off top of my head- but for those who in future might actually PREFER to at times just launch a stand-alone PC/Mac Scaler app for minimalism- would it be heresy to suggest maybe in future adding ability to record and edit just ONE ( and I mean ONE ) melody MIDI track? This would allow Scaler to be kind of an ideal song idea starter app. Then obviously at later date one would launch DAW writhe Scaler plugin and - say drag the melody sketch track onto a separate MIDI track I the DAW and finalise the work. Just a thought :)
Thanks, Please can I ask that you look into making future-Scaler a perfect partner for Yamaha arrangers - ie the Genos family and PSR derivatives. Why? because the CHORD LOOPER feature in them lacks edit facility. It would be so good to instead be able to A) have scaler import Chord Looper bank files (a kinda MIDI file ) B) maybe operate like an alternate Chord Looper but on iPad via Scaler. Korg only just recently FINALLY added edit facility to ITS chord progression tool. Yamaha seem very unresponsive to anything that would actually make their top arrangers into something helpful for composer and producers. And arrangers - done right - COULD be so inspirational as a composing tool,
Unless I’m missing it this could really do with a delay knob for the samples so you can stagger when the sample starts
nice so i learned my random chord progress called passages now nice! i have one question i asked before but you never answer anyway... for second time can we record a manually midi performed chord by keyboard and import it to scaller to get full scale and progressive also enhance it to final version ? how we can do that ? i asked that because not all type of Performances or Arpeggios or chord rhythms Covered in Scaller 2 so i want to add some customized perform ones with my hand
Re-301 is a spring reverb. Your effect is NOT a SPRING reverb. For this you need a FILTER DELAY to obtain dispersion between high and low frequencies.
Already lost at 19 seconds in. What is a module. Is there anything like this, but for somebody who knows NOTHING WHATSOEVER?
I liked the part where you explained what you were doing. Oh wait that didn't happen. Imma go find a tutorial to explain this tutorial.
Can you set up a different performance mode per chord? Or do they all play The same performance? Awesome video man!
Yes, go to the EDIT page. Check out some of the other videos in the playlist and also the manual which does a good job of explaining it. : )
@@SchoolofSynthesis awesome thank you! I’ll chexk the rest of your videos as well!
To make this tool even better it needs more scale choices, not only Equal Temperment (which is mostly out of tune). Sounds in nature are mostly in Just Intonation, where frequencies are in direct proportion to the fundamental. These resonances create real musicality.
You can enter in any notes chromatically on the keyboard to create your own scale and whilst there is no current microtonal support, devs have discussed tuning offsets. Hope that helps.
fantastic ❤
PC, Win 11, Cubase: Scaler 2.9 causes crashes in different and often unpredictable situations when you save the Cubase project and then try to close Cubase. Then Cubase crashes and freezes. The same thing happens when you add Scaler to some Cubase projects. Then when you save the project and close Cubase, Cubase crashes and freezes. It doesn't happen in all situations. It also happens, for example, in very small projects where there are only 2 tracks in total. It depends on which VST instruments are in the project. - It is a very big problem!
You might want to investigate what Forager VST and ReMIDI 3 can do as far as helping select chords with voice leading. In Forager's case, you can select a note or notes - pitches you would WANT included in the new chord (and even allow "loose matches" - one or more tones allowed to be OUT of scale in the chord), and it will display all the relevant chords in the chosen Key signature. For ReMIDI 3, you select the uppermost, and bottommost pitches (obvious important pitches harmonically in a progression since the uppermost is often the melody note and the bottom note played by the bass), and it will let you cycle through chord options easily to determine the chord you want. Of course, either will let you edit the chord afterwards to voice them as you desire, moving any of the notes around, dropping or duplicating them. There might be something in all of that for a future version that helps users build chord progressions based upon voice leading since Scaler doesn't expose those or let you specify certain note pitches to help narrow down chord choices. Great product already, one of the first to upgrade when you have a new release.
hi i have a question that i dont have hat loop option in my logic. thank u very much
This is incredible. Exactly what I was looking for.
Is chord scaler a plug-in in Logic 11?
Also can you create a melody making video
Try this @George kzread.info/dash/bejne/Z2idw5uPo6y0kag.htmlsi=TVUTV7wkq50Fnge9&t=844
Have you ever run into the issue where scaler 2 only recognizes the first chord only?
If you are using audio detection maybe your threshold is too high. Try posting over at forum.scalerplugin.com for help from the devs and the very welcoming community! Or try this kzread.info/dash/bejne/aYSW1JeNmZq2ZdI.htmlsi=786KBbkY6CZ2Lx5i
Nice video! I started using this Scaler 2 plugin and I'm still disovering new functionalities every day I use it
I miss a master AMP and a copy paste option in the edit, pitch, amp section :)!! Otherwise this seems super cool!!
Hey @tndncy - If you click on the the hamburger (three dot) menu in each sound slot you can access a variety of options including Copy Pitch and Amp Env. Hopefully that gives you what you need.
@@SchoolofSynthesisawesome!! Thanks
Very interesting plugin. It would be very useful to be able to modulate either from the plugin or by DAW mapping the Pitch and Amp envelope nodes. That would really breath some extra life to drum sequences.
Trial version crashes the whole daw once i try to load it.
There was an issue with a small portion of Windows users experiencing a crash on load. This have been rectified with DC Snares 1.0.1 available now under your account at Plugin Boutique.
Hi, I have a real problem here because when i want to open scaler at the very beginning when i go to "midi effect", i can see chord trigger, arpeggiator, modulator etc... but i can't go very far to see "audio unit" to find scaler. Do you have an idea please of what's going on? Best from France.
Hard to diagnose here but please head over to forum.scalerplugin.com and list your DAW and Specs. Sounds like you just need to load Scaler 2 onto your Instrument channel.
@@SchoolofSynthesis Thanks, i will check this.
Damn now I have to upgrade to a newer mac.
DCSnares name is so different from what it does, it underestimated the plug-in. You guys should rename it. There are lots of stuff to use this Claps Snaps Cymbals Shakers Bass Kicks Vocal chops Percussions
No doubt but everything in this plug in was made specifically for the benefits of creating snares. It's just that the by product is it can make lots more! So we considered that but it felt right to name it after its raison d'être. Besides, I didn't want to have to be compared to established heavyweights like Battery or Kontakt which we are not trying to be!
thanks
"Can it do X, Y and Z too?" It's literally called, "SNARES" guys!🙄. I'm thinking of that snare in Post Malone's "Rockstar". Very unique sounding (doesn't sound like a traditional "snare" - it's more like perc+snare+perc2). This plugin is just one tool to create something unique. I love that I can add my own samples and layer and tweak 'em.
Does it have microtonal support?
No but check out Entonal from Node Audio.
@SchoolofSynthesis Thanks, I will. I already have scaler actually, I just hadn't updated it in a while so wasn't sure if it had been added. Great video btw!
Hi Davide. Hope you're doing well. Just curious if there's a tutorial like this for Cubase's chord track? I assume it's most likely very similar. Keep up your great work!
There appears to be somethings about on YT but not on our channel sorry!
Very cool
Why not add Kicks and Shakers to make it a complete drum machine. What is the goal of this?
Exactly my question
The purpose and goal during the design and build of DC Snares was to create a workflow, tools and FX specifically made to replicate Davide's design process. As mentioned in this video the fact that you can do more is a by product of the work. Or 'fringe benefit'. Davide felt there was no ideal Snare making software available. Hope that helps.
@@SchoolofSynthesisIt has kicks and percussion too
Should have named it One shot
just bought
Awesome plugin! The cherry on top for me would be having the possibility to drag and drop the generated sample outside of the plugin, to use as audio (like the DAWESOME Chop Suey plugin does). Since there's a realtime waveform, dragging that outisde the plugin would be dope. ✌
Davide has reported this is coming in the next update! Export Rendered Audio!
What about different meters?
Hi, when I try to use the keyswitches to manage passages.. they trigger also performance on the piano, and the keyswitches always has a sound. How can I separate those functions? Thanks!
Immediately purchased!
Wonderful 🎉 DC Snares is Absolutely Beautiful 🎉😊
Awesome plugin and a staple in music productions. Well worth the money. Thanks Davide and team for making this plugin.
Interesting. Didn’t know there’s a market for 700+ snare sounds in this day and age. My accumulated sample library probably already has this many or more snares and I’ve had no difficulty finding snare sounds I like. But, admittedly, this tool has a lot of features to tweak the sounds, but I’d prefer to learn one tool for all my drum sounds and I can’t quite tell if DC Snares is positioned as that tool for all my drum kit pieces.
Interesting. You need to get your rookie numbers up. Keep your head up, champ!
Awesome
Woah, that auto-updating waveform display is gonna be very useful for Hardcore/Hardstyle kicks :o! nice!
cool!
Looks promising! Gotta try it !
✨Thank you, Sir, 🙏✨
An absolute MUST HAVE for any songwriter/composer/producer!
An absolute must for any songwriter and producer at any level. Great for triggering inspiration and moving ideas along.
Absolute belter of a tutorial, not even just regarding Scaler 2, but also Ableton, the midi tools, gating, etc, etc. You're damned right I sub'd!
Como actualizamos lo que ya tenemos el escalador 2 a la mas reciente version ?
So I tried the detect function on a soloed instrument loop to test and the detection was entirely off… like it really couldn’t have been more incorrect
Scaler is the greatest
