eh. watch teh two 45 minute introductory music theory videos from rick beato. worth your time, and the knowledge will help you with these amazing tools. i've known music theory for a long time, rick shows everything, but these tools are an amazing add on for someone like me who already knows music theory, but for you, you should learn it. 90 minutes of your time. rick is a great teacher, you won't be confused. period. music theory is cut and dry. if you can speak and write in english, music is a million times more simple.

As I am sure Davide agrees, Scaler allows you to create and use your heart and soul to originate music without having to worry about theory, voicings, arpeggios, bass lines or anything else for that matter. It changes the landscape of music creation completely for producers, arrangers and composers alike. Thank you for sharing yet another masterpiece video of Scaler Davide with us!

Other than a DAW, Scaler 2 is the single best practical music-making software I've yet purchased.

Scaler is coming along fantastically and to end it's journey on 3.0 would be perfect.

I found the "passages" feature in the Scaler 2.9 update to be quite impressive. It reminded me of UJAM's virtual piano, where performances gradually progress from soft to intense. Having this feature in Scaler is truly beneficial. Moreover, I am hopeful that this feature can be expanded to include various passages for piano, strings, brass, and other instruments. Thanks Davide.

Would absolutely love a suggestion feature that is used for chords within a progression. Such as having your first chord and your third chord and the suggest mode would find a passage chord

You kind of have that in modulation with the pivot chords suggestion, secondary dominants and in Live Suggest Mode!

I really need to start using this, I got Scaler 1 when it first come out and as I no my music theory to a small degree I never open it but the possibilities are endless, downloading the new update NOW!

Thanks Davide and team, for making a great tool even better. Loving Passages as the provide fantastic building blocks, and they also serve as perfect seed notes to feed back into some of Scaler's perform modes or midi transformation tools. Also really appreciate you guys keeping non-contiguous chord selection (ctrl-click) and Preview Selected Chords active during Live Suggest mode. It is great for trying variations on multiple chords that are off the screen w/out the chords swapping out. Also, was wondering if you are doing any automation of Scaler EQ? I'm loving the control you guys gave us for adding movement dynamic texture. Keep up the great work!

Pretty Cool, I would love to see key switching on Performances and Arpeggios too. Currently I've been Midi capturing the output while clicking through them in real time. This program started off amazing and has continued so far beyond what anyone could have expected. Some of the best money ever spent on a plugin!

I hope v3 adds its own piano roll to the scaler. I would also like Ghost Note to be activated for each inserted scaler. You can view your MIDI arrangement easily and objectively. I want it to be a tool to help you decide.

I haven't watched the video yet, but I LOVE the "free updates" way of doing business. Same with FL's lifetime updates. I think i got Scaler when it was 2.1. So many awesome improvements! Always pleasant surprise.

Love the key switches, what about using them more, like for the arpeggio styles?

Nice idea. Totally customizable would be nice. 3.0 is coming I think this and drums will be next.

Thanks so much for all the very helpful improvements you and your team tirelessly come up with every so many months! However... what about the next new feature in upcoming Scaler 3: suggesting chord-progressions to a given melody? Wouldn't that be the mother of all gamechangers?

Man - more! Request a way to bind the Suggest feature so maybe a split bind with section C bind or something. It will make it easier and smoother to test the suggest chords with what one has in section C.

Always had hoped you would go the route of enabling content packs to be sold that easily drop in. Originally for chord sets, but as you've added functionality it would now include Bass patters, passages, etc...

Ill go first. 1 Drums drums drums. 2 Schillinger interference patterns as rhythmic/melodic options. 3. playback options generated from input (drum loop, midi clip, listen function) rhythm, passage, and bass as 1st priority. 4 bundled or integrated MIDI BUS FUNCTIONALITY. Hi and thanks.Very useful plugin. I hope that in time with the help of Scaler I will understand more about music theory. I have a large library of MIDI files and now I don't know if I will need it or not. As far as I understand, you can create both simple and very complex chords and even melodies in Scalar. This is very exciting.

excellent! - Hi Davide, It would be great if you could drag chords and melody phrases from the DAW track (Cubase) into Scaler to edit them further in Scaler. You should then be able to drag them back to the DAW track once you have finished editing them. (for Scaler 3) 😍❤

nice new features, Scaler is great it just needs a better melody section, with randomize functions and some parameters to tweek

Please allow the triggering of more octaves without any work arounds. I select the chord set, and it can be triggered by all the keys on my keyboard in one click please 🙏🏽

I honestly think the only thing scaler can add at this point is step sequencer for melodies I think it’s glorious

There are several Ostinato patterns through out under sequences and also melody in the Performance Section. The rest may be coming soon!

It's there, man dnb producers (including myself!!) use it for bass style music. It's just that lots of the examples don't show that. I will make a 'making a dnb tune' video for you! 🙂

For switching passages, you can assign certain keys on a midi controller keyboard to play those? thats why they are green correct? if so, would you mind sending a link to a video on how to assign that.

Hey Tom what you see is what you get! C1-B1 are the default key switches to switch between Passages 1-7. You can also assign command mappings but that is a little more cumbersome. Nothing announced officially but we are expecting something big Q4 24!

PC, Win 11, Cubase: Scaler 2.9 causes crashes in different and often unpredictable situations when you save the Cubase project and then try to close Cubase. Then Cubase crashes and freezes. The same thing happens when you add Scaler to some Cubase projects. Then when you save the project and close Cubase, Cubase crashes and freezes. It doesn't happen in all situations. It also happens, for example, in very small projects where there are only 2 tracks in total. It depends on which VST instruments are in the project. - It is a very big problem!

When is it out?

How are passages recorded? Perhaps I missed something, but you appeared to be selecting various passages by clicking on the green keys in real time. So, how does one commit to a sequence of passages? Thanks.

Record the keyswiches (midi) in your DAW. In the case of passages it's C1-B1

Hi, when I try to use the keyswitches to manage passages.. they trigger also performance on the piano, and the keyswitches always has a sound. How can I separate those functions? Thanks!

I use Scaler 2 for the PC and for the iPad. It's great software. I am still enthusiastic - is there already a release date for Scaler 2.9 for iOS?

I acquired Scaler 2 via the "rent to own" option on PluginBoutique. I can't work out how to update Scaler to this latest version. Will someone please advise me?

Log in to Plugin Boutique and go to your Account and then you will see it in the dropdown menu, Hope that helps.
