Wouldn't use the sounds in scaler. Just have it write midi (once you're done composing a part) export the midi from scaler and drag that to the DAW. Then use another virtual instrument. Can always edit what it composed in your DAW later. Scaler wasn't intended to give you the final sound for your mix. Enjoyed the video. Thanks. So many ads on this video. A little too much. The first 4 were fine. One at the very end too is fine.. But is not that long of a video. KZread and pretty crazy with the ads.

Hey so sorry I can't control how many ads they send unfortunately. Yeah I tend to use the midi only, but I want to show the full range of functionality in my videos, glad you enjoyed it!

Great demo. Most of the people that demo new things have no idea of what music is or how to present it. Nice

Great to see how you used it. Definitely an interesting tool, I've had it for a month, I think I've probably spent more time messing around and trying to work out what to do with it than actually creating something, but hopefully we'll get there in the end. The suggest chords thing is probably the most useful thing

Its definitely a learning curve, but like anything if your committed to it, you can learn everything about it. To be honest, most times I use it to get a combination of 4 chords, I have yet to use the performance mode, because I can usually come up with something cool in my head just by hearing the chords. We all have our own ways to work, but Scaler gives you lots of options

@@vxd Actually - the tune here is built on Scaler - kzread.info/dash/bejne/maWdla2wnqbRirQ.html - all the instruments are from the BBC Symphony Orchestra freebie - had to do 2 tracks for each, one with the Scaler feeding midi to the other with the instrument. So it all got a bit big and fun to navigate around. I think if I can get a decent template set up to every instrument has a scaler and effects rack ready to go, it may be one way.... Problem I found with that was making sure all the scalers were synchronised - and when you do synch, you select just the bits you need... it can go horribly wrong if you synch everything I found or the other way was to have 1 scaler which generates midi, then you just drag the generated stuff into clips, It's like Photoshop - too many ways to do the same thing ;-)

Nice video, I find scaler interesting but not very intuitive. Might just be me. It’s clearly very powerful but I find the workflow odd.

The thing I like about scaler is you can use any of the functionality separately, so you don't have to be in scaler all the time, just export your midi and your done!

I relate to this. Not intuitive. It gives you a ton of options but I think it would be much better if there was an option to follow a workflow or to chose one among some suggested. Especially for those starting now. Orb Producer is much more intuitive than Scaler 2 for this.

I find it extremely unintuitive. I bought it a year back or so.. Tackled it a hand ful of times. But following some of the tutorials, I got nothing like the results. After watching more videos, I've decided to tackle it again. I'm taking it slower now, and making some headway. It is a powerful tool.
