  Much better but you need Captain Tsubasa: the anime that made football popular in Japan, that inspired the Japanese national team and other famous football players such as Messi and Iniesta, one of the best-selling manga in history that went on for 43 years (and only stopped this year, actually), whose protagonist has a bronze statue in Tokyo and appeared in the opening or closing ceremony for two Olympics, that is quoted in tons of recent anime such as Blue Lock, and whose author was asked to take pictures, sign autographs and participate in promo for World Cups. Any top 3 of sports anime should include Captain Tsubasa.

  Ace of Diamond and Majors was the top 2 for me. Just not satisfied on how they end Ace of Diamond in manhwa. I want to see them win at Koushien and beat Masamune. For the Majors, the story was good because we saw Goro's Journey from being a kid to becoming a successful Major League player.
