Can the recorder capture from a vhs video source ?
Hey John! long time fan, and very interested in rundown studio. My only concern is pricing. Rundown studio is the same yearly price as the entire adobe creative cloud. Is there ever going to be paired-down version for smaller teams? Thanks for reading.
Appreciate your thoughts on this one. We are always considering things like pricing and how it fits into the market, features we want to offer, and how we can ensure a sustainable business for our team. As of now we have no plans for a paired-down version however unlike Adobe we make it super easy to pause/cancel at any time so you don't have to jump through hoops during your quiet months!
I agree it seems a bit over priced. I asked my clinet to pay for it. Showed a demo. She just said let's just use excel and use a clock to keep track of the time as always. Our event is 4months away and need to build as we go so not worth 4months of subscription for a 3day event multiple rooms. It just not offers enough to justify the price. Customisation of the dashboard with basic code also feels unfinished. 200$ a year sounds about right for something like this in my opinion. Keep up the work, one day I will hope to make the purchase.
Hi John, We have a BMD 4k Production Studio switcher and looking to buy the HD Studio Plus. Moved up from ATEM Mini Pro ISO. I'd like to be able to do the following: 1) Record program out to HD Studio Plus in 4k 2) Use for intro video playback 3) Transfer recorded to BMD cloud Can the HD do 1 and then 3 afterwards? Can the HD do 1 and 2 simultaneously?
Hey - 1) I am not sure if the HD Studio Plus can send files to the cloud 2) No, it cannot record and playback at the same time.
Thank you. Have a great rest of your week. God bless.
TBH, now I know why ATEM only do SDI only, not mix and match the HDMI & SDI. but, I wish the had done like Osee GoStream Duet. Maybe not all input. Maybe 2 of the input 7 & 8 Have bi-directional HDMI IN + SDI IN/OUT. 2 extra hdmi input is enough for small event
How would you go about getting multiple HDMI sources into this? I didn't want to just use lots of individual Decimators or Blackmagic HDMI-SDI. Is there a single unit option that'll convert 4 HDMIs or more?
Great tips man, great work ! Thank you !
Dear John, thanks für dieses Video. The background-image in the lower third is a pretty cool option. Do you have additional infos for this feature, because it obviously need some css for the correct position and scaling. Thanks in advance. Best wishes from Austria.
@Doug try "hot mud" next time it dries in minutes and is ready to sand.
Will this work with the atem software control minimised?
Sure does!
Thanks for doing this. Very inspiring. Y'all are upping my ambition to get better at live production.
Our pleasure!
Great conversation! Really nice to see you all collab and create a different kind of magic. Question for Doug if you see this: what's in the fly pack you casually mentioned? I love seeing the larger setups with your trailer, but curious what you use for smaller jobs?
I have a video about it: kzread.info/dash/bejne/f5uHldGJk7uto5s.html. I built it in this video: kzread.infoAz5tNV-eCys?feature=share, and did some upgrades here: kzread.infoqkCPxURJgVY. It's based on the 2 M/E Constellation HD. It includes a Blackmagic Design SmartView Duo, HyperDeck Studio Mini (primarily for playback), HyperDeck Studio HD Mini (primarily for recording), Blackmagic Studio Converter 2, Teradek VidiU Go for streaming, NETGEAR 26-port managed Gigabit switch, GL.Inet Beryl AX router, plus some other various SDI/HDMI/Fiber converters.
@@djp_video Oh, awesome. I'll check those videos out. Thanks, Doug!
Doing is definitely a Super Star! I'm curious whyhe went with the 1 M/E as it doesn't have a SuperSource?
For the basement studio, I can get away with 10 inputs without much compromise, so the only feature that the 2 M/E model adds that I'd actually use is SuperSource. It hardly seems worth the extra $2000 price difference just to add that, especially considering that the included DVE takes care of 95% of my 'picture in picture' needs. And I can always use my trailer if I need to do something more sophisticated.
That was very cool!
Agreed!
This is so cool to have 3 folks (John, Doug and Adam) all who are interested in Live production, recording, editing. And ALL doing software development related to that interest. Soooo much talent, and experience in this one video. 👍 And looking forward to Doug's future videos, definitely having the basement home studio sitting there waiting ready to go will lower the "friction" so to speak of making new stuff. And kudos too Doug on the acoustic treament, I know you were using a lavalier, but there's no echo/reverb off of hard surfaces noticeable in that sound track.
Thanks for the kindness, as always!
I have old Atem 1 M/E studio 4K consellation model and it has lan/ethernet cable connection, so If I take ethernet to usb c connection cable/dongle and make connection between micro panel and my old consellation, is it work? Any idea?
Hi. What is the latency of the video passing through the ethernet cable?
This is great
That so impressive. Engineers have to be truly creative to solve so many problems. Fantastic fly-by. Very informative.
I don’t really understand what sets this apart from an ATEM mini pro
This is a control surface for many pieces of equipment (ATEM included, but many many more). This device is also not a video switcher itself, it is a control surface for other video switchers.
Hi, it seams that the 3G Recorder is not compatible with MacOS Sonoma. Is this the case? Best regards.
I know Doug doesn't like to talk about his studio too much because it's not finished, but I know it's further along than it was when he showed the unfinished basement (2 years ago?) Anyways, while it may not be perfect to Doug, it's still something I would gladly watch here on H2R YT! 👍
If it's anything I've learned from watching AaronPK every Sunday,... change is good. Leave things in flux, un-polished!
Commz,... interesting! Space Bar to forward lyrics?
It would be great to add 3D positioning to the Rotate function. I could see lots of use for that.
Are Cramer cables the ones you recommend?
Transmission successful! We'll get back to you shortly.
For the slideshow graphic, can the images be dynamic so it reads a new image each time it comes to that image? For example a slide that updates based on rising funds during a telethon.
You should probably go ahead and take this one down. It's way outdated and most of the options and tabs you mention don't exist.
I have been meaning for so very long to remake this. I agree with you to be honest
Hello! I really like your products. Congratulations. I want to buy the layouts (both Atem and VMix), but I have a question: do the Atem layouts only work on Atem Extreme? Thanks
Hope I managed to answer this on the live stream!

Hello, I'm an image director and I follow your channel almost all the time ultimamate I have a question about the animated supersource, I want to know how to do animation directly with the console, I'm currently working with the console 4 ME I made an animated supersurce using kay with DVE and the other with Luma because I need to reveal a GC that is in L shape, we use it a lot in sports broadcasting I really want to see and understand better about supercurce animations, especially if you can do this directly on the console using flayerkay, I will be very grateful
Hi there! This video is super helpful but the DOCS link no longer works. Is there an updated version?
The remote source setup button isnt showing up, I have the newest software installed.
Hi John, Great video! I'm planning to purchase the Stream Deck+ and I have a specific use case in mind. I want to use the knobs to adjust the intensity of my lights, which communicate via ArtNet. Ideally, I want to be able to dial in the light intensity from 0 to 255. I have a couple of questions: Is there a way for the knob dial to provide feedback on the exact value I'm dialing in? How can I save my dialed settings as a preset with a single button press or something similar? I'd really appreciate your support on this.
Micro Panel without direct LAN connection to the switcher is the dumbest thing in my opinion! The reason people buy the panel is to eliminate the needs for extra PC/laptop running ATEM Control. What is the point then? Meanwhile Skaarhoj and multiple chinese made controller can do it directly for much cheaper price. Some of it even has wireless tally functionality
This is very helpful, thank you. However, I have a problem. I have myself keyed and 'overlaid' over my computer screen content. Computer screen is input 1 and me (keyed) is input 2. As planned, the program window in multiview shows me over the computer screen. The 2nd hdmi output also shows me over the screen, as desired. However I have a third monitor which is set to mirror my program output screen. That 3rd monitor only shows the computer screen. The keyed version of me is missing on the mirrored monitor. Can you suggest what I might be doing wrong? Thank you.
It would be nice to see a video on open source apps people could use for this.
my streaming.xml wont let me edit. Will say locked. how do I edit?
So good to see you two doing these.
I'd love to see more about your graphics software
Sure thing. learn more here: h2r.graphics/
Hi John, do you need the Streamdeck software installed first to use Companion? Or can you use it without? And secondly, is there a way round needing the network connection on the ATEM if you just want to run via USB?
You can have both and use them together or just stick with one. Both will work
hi, can we change swther video standard from 1080p to 1080i? on atem sdi extreme iso
How do you import a page into stream labs? I have it connected but the page isn’t popping up?
I punched in the IP for my ATEM and it just says connecting. Any ideas?
Hi John, did you figured out, how to navigate between folders on the same level?
Just briefly, how do you use your rPi for graphics?
Do you think it's possible if I put two mars 400s receivers and two March 400 transmitter, do you think it's possible to tell the camera to change the colors wirelessly if one of the SDI that goes to the camera is connected to the March 400s transmitter and receiving it in the camera, while the camera also has a transmitter sending the picture to the item, is this possible or is there a better way to control it wirelessly
I’ve been away from video production and the discord for a few months now, but it’s great to see behind the scenes and breakdowns like that pop in my recommendations! SpaceCommz looks very interesting, I’ll try it for sure Great work as always, thank you John (and Jonas, and Adam, and the whole H2R community 😊)
Glad it popped up for you!
I'd be amazed if you still read comments from this video, but this looks really promising for me. I recently upgraded from a dual-boot setup to a dual-PC setup and I'm looking for ways to integrate the two as much as possible. I use the Stream Deck quite a bit in software development but I also like to game, so my work machine becomes my streaming machine after hours. I use the deck for stream control and for game shortcuts, macros, hotkeys, etc. so this will let me continue using it for both by controlling functions on both machines with one deck!
I do. Things have changed a bunch since this was made but it’s only gotten better!
Is drawing function available in free version?
It sure is!
@@heretorecord I don't see this option. How is it call?
@@cahir85 Working on making it clearer - but check out the app settings and you will see a "Draw" option on the left.
@@heretorecord Found it :)
