Good summary! As for what to test, among other things I'm wondering how the "select bus" works, especially regarding Supersource boxes content, how it's configurable etc. Although MixEffects is very good at controlling these things, something integrated in the panel that can work on the fly would be cool to have!

Very clear run through. It's a great-looking console and spec, but too bad that BM are not embracing SRT (yet alone NDI). We find SRT appreciably improves image clarity, plus less bandwidth and delay than RTMP, which is really quite outdated. Streaming SRT from off-grid locations via 4G into vMix, is so much better than when I used to use LiveU Solos running dithery patchy RTMP.

That's true, RTMP isn't the forward looking solution.

@Here To Record, once again, great video. Question regarding Blackmagic Bidirectional converters...if I am using one to convert sdi switcher into hdmi monitor, can I not use the same converter to send a hdmi feed from laptop into another sdi input port? 🤔 or does it require two different Bidirectional converters? 🤔

@jOHN Hello / in the Atem script can we use "AUX" insted of "camera" to fill the supersouce box . It will make me use only on supersource with interchangeable camera input with the use of 2 AUX. Can Aux be looped in the SDI in of the HD8 with out dommage ?

Blackmagic Design states in the manual for the ATEM Television Studio HD8 that the transition type button marked ARM is «currently disabled and will be enabled in a future update». Do you have any thoughts/rumours about what this can do in the future?

I would be interested to know if it is possible to share a computer screen and input it on the ATEM with RTMP.

I was expecting that BMD will add some features in their switchers like physical knobs control with audio meters for XLR audio input and HDMI out in their switchers but no luck BMD forces people to buy their converters as well. This sucks the portability of the product.

Have you got the Microphone converter (MADI)? I am just thinking it's a great product but then i start to thinking (after i order it, getting the product tomorrow) that if i route all the audio to converter box and something happend in live stream, or atem record etc... i don't have any audio backup in my cameras.. but video backup i have it. I hope we get some usb-c recording or something that i can save the audio files.

Nope, these were not ready yet when I got some test gear in so never tried it.

No 4K support?

Yeah I skipped mentioning that in this video because I am not sure how long they'll do that for. Good reason to buy early though!
