What part of MixEffect do you use Companion with? Have you experimented yet with the Shortcuts integration? It doesn't have all the bells and whistles that Companion has, but you can still do a lot with your own shortcut.

Adam, thanks so much for MixEffect. Video follows Audio is a total life-saver. The only problem that I am currently facing is that the file size of ISO recordings with my ATEM Extreme Pro ISO is enormous. I do 3-4 hour podcasts with 100GB+ of data per camera. I understand that the problem is not with MixEffect, but with the file encoding of the ATEM. Can the ATEM Television Studio HD8 Iso record in "normal" compressed quality? Would really be happy to hear from you. :)

No, the ISO are odds are always at the highest resolution with minimal compression. There isn’t a way to change this unfortunately. The stream bitrate settings only affects the size of the program record, not the ISO records.

There’s an email link in MixEffect settings that you can use. Another option is to purchase the paid upfront version of MixEffect Pro if you are having problems with the Pro in-app purchase of the free to download MixEffect. Go to MixEffectPro.app for the download link.

I would read the Connection Help document which covers common connection problems. Also if you have the new TV Studio 4K8 model, MixEffect does not currently support that switcher. I will be adding support in the next release. But it looks like you have the HD so it should work if your network is set up properly between the Atem and MixEffect.

Hi Adam it’s any way to change the aspect radio at the Atem mini extreme for anamorphic lenses?????

You can use the Upstream Keyer DVE and adjust the width and height separately. You cannot do that with the SuperSource boxes.

Quick question, can you use an Atem + Mixeffect to send all inputs into you steaming software (vMix) so that you can run a condensed set up on a laptop and keep all the connection apart from the incoming calls to the Atem and still mix them together?

I think most people who use Vmix with an ATEM connect the program output from the ATEM into Vmix. If so, you can continue to use MixEffect to control what the ATEM is outputting and use Vmix to do lower-thirds, dynamic overlays, streaming, etc. Pretty sure Vmix has an external API, and you can incorporate Shortcuts with MixEffect to control Vmix from the iPad, iPhone, or Mac.

@@AdamTow thank you for the reply. I am planning to create a low footprint for an event where we have online presenters and a small 3 camera studio. Normally we would do this with the server so that all are plugged in direct and all controlled by vMix. So my thought I’d to plug all cameras into atem use MixEffect to produce a multicam input to see all studio people and then add vMix callers to the same multi screen using the software all streamed via vMix?

@@gaspcreativeltd533 I don't use Vmix (or OBS) myself, so I would defer and have you post your question over on the MixEffect Facebook Group. You might get better answers there. As long as no one from the ATEM side needs to see/hear Vmix, I think it's do-able.

Sorry to be lazy and not RTFM, but is there a way to sycnronize/copy SS layouts between devices? I was also thinking it would be awesome to have the key commands assign without modifiers (cmd+opt) to numbers 1-0. I am using the app on Macbook Pro. Perhaps I just need to get Companion integrated...

If MixEffect is running on different devices with the same AppleID, your SSRC layouts should sync. If you have devices with different AppleIDs, you'll have to export your layouts and import them. When you're in the SuperSource section, you can use keyboard shortcuts to switch between layouts. You'll see the command keys underneath the presets. But a better way would be to use either Shortcuts or Companion. You can bind Shortcuts to keyboard commands easily in macOS. Plus, Shortcuts can do a lot more than just set SSRC layouts. I would check out the list of 100+ actions when in the Shortcuts app. You can really automate a lot in MixEffect that way.

If I buy MixEffect, can I use in more than one device? I use an iPad and a Mac mini but they are not on the same iCloud and cannot be on the same. Do I have to buy MixEffect for both of them?

In this case, yes, you would need to buy two copies of MixEffect since the iPad and Mac mini are not on the same iCloud/AppleID. If it's the same AppleID, you can install and restore the purchase on all devices using that AppleID.

I have ATEM television STUDIO PRO 4K does it have MixEffect or not?

Thanks for this video, Adam. I have an issue with Mix Effect. My TVS HD8 is recognized and "green" in the Mix Effect App. However, it will not show switcher controls. It just shows that my HD8 is recognized and green. Any input or direction on this?

Make sure you have upgraded to MixEffect 1.8.0. You can find the version you're on by going to MixEffect Settings > About MixEffect. The version string will be at the bottom of the screen. If it's 1.7.2, you can go to the App Store to update. Make sure you update the correct MixEffect. There's MixEffect (free to download with the Pro in-app purchase) and MixEffect Pro (paid up-front).

I am a macOS and iOS developer, so I do not know how to program for Windows and have no plans to port MixEffect over to Windows. Sorry!
