I don't know much about why the US government considers YPG a terrorist group... but from what I've seen watching these videos it seems to me that Kurds are the only group that are actually stopping IS from taking control of more land... and not only that, but they aren't trying to kill other Arabs/Muslims either... so to me it seems that Kurds would deserve their own country after this, after all these years of fighting for it and protecting their people.

The Kurds aren't a monolith. YPG, YPJ, PKK are totally different than KDP Peshmerga. The Peshmerga are forces of Iraqi Kurdistan's government, and Manbij and Afrin were under control of Democratic Federation of Northern Syria- completely different. It was the latter of course who broke through ISIS lines and created a corridor through which Yezidis could flee.

@ 4:15, an Ezidi man specifically credits the PKK with saving Ezidis, while later (around 9:15) the reporter describes the differences between YPG and KDP Pesh. You're confusing, or intentionally conflating, different groups of Kurds. It was KDP soldiers that abandoned the Ezidis, but PKK and PYD (YPG/J) fighters played a major role in rescuing Ezidis from ISIS, and have been fighting ISIS before and since.

The good thing is this conflict will hopefully establish new countries with stable borders over time.
