It is NOT ok to harm others, especially over a drawing. That said, France has a long history of racism and exploitation of Muslims and their countries. To pretend that anti-Islamic sentiment comes as a response to attacks is not doing anything for freedom of expression. Racism and exploitation are part of the country’s identity at this point. Macron and many French have been opposed to women wearing the headscarf, one of the most basic forms of expression, so what are we really talking about here?
