Mr Tong clearly has a narrative that he is alluding to. Is this a fair session? Why is he overdoing this? I hope the committee can see the evidences clearly and give a fair outcome.

This is an opportunity for him to shine infront of his party. Fair outcome is unlikely, just look at the entire inquiry, time spent and direction. My guess : they will conclude that khan is under the misguidance of wp leadership to tell a lie in parliament, and wp leadership knowingly knew and abet to the lie. ET already give strong clue the verdict already. He didnt even give PS to tell the story in a single flow of the chains of events, decision and emotion. All broken down into bits and section with yes and no answering and tons of hypotical qns like if "khan is right", if this if that, you could have done abcde. If police act like this when interogate suspect singapore changi prison going to be filled with wrongfully accused folks.

Edwin Tong said "I had no agenda except to ask questions and find out what the facts are." OMG he was questioning with so much speculations and pushing witnesses to affirm his narrative, and interrupted when witnesses wanted to explain and clarify, saying those replies are not answering his questions. That is too much for no agenda and wanting only the facts. He confused his role in COP (purely fact finding) to a lawyer in a court (win a predefined narrative). His etiquette is also some how in trouble, so many times Pritam Singh replied humbly to Edwin's demand on complying to his syntax of answer, Edwin replied rudely to the effect of "of course you better do so", instead of a polite "I am glad or thank you". Shame on him. Pritam Singh performance is on fire. And no, I am not usually an opposition supporter. Just saying what is what.

2:17:00 onwards when PS disagrees and says that anything is possible - Mr Tong please, don't try to insult the intelligence of your viewers when you claim that PS's response is unhelpful. I have utmost respect for you and the way you have gone about your inquiry for Ms Loh (the only one I have watched so far). I find it very clear, thorough and contextual. But honestly, every educated person watching your interrogation of PS can see that his particular response in that moment I mentioned is a legitimate one. You are forcing him down to go down 3 specific narratives that you have constructed based on YOUR reasoning. I can provide MY own extrapolations on how PS should react upon hearing RK say that she is considering telling the truth. The person who reads this comment can provide THEIR own, and so can the other people who have already commented below. What makes you think that your 3 scenarios are the only 3 that exist in the world? Please, it's so ironic that the government emphasises so much on education, and yet when people are educated and have become able and critical thinkers, we have to put up with hearing this kind of illogical reasoning from a top lawyer and minister. What's even worse is that this CoP session is meant to get to the truth (the OBJECTIVE truth), and yet those who have to attend these sessions are asked to provide speculations (SUBJECTIVE) and somehow these speculated scenarios are used to hold them accountable. Let me give you an example now. Let's say that I went out this afternoon and I heard some noises from my neighbour's place but I ignored it. Turns out my neighbour got burgled. Now, a REASONABLE thing that a REASONABLE person would have done is to check whether things were ok, but maybe because I just can't be bothered today so I chose to ignore it. Now I am suspected of committing this crime and am held accountable for it because my actions didn't meet what a REASONABLE person would do. So what? Does that make me unreasonable? Does that make me guilty that maybe on a random day I just didn't feel like it? Am I not entitled to feel how I feel and react the way I reacted? Because that's the kind of "reasonable" questioning PS is facing here. Edit: Also, since when did PS mention or suggest that RK would raise the issue of her lying and come clean on her own volition? I'm sorry Mr Tong but he didn't change his evidence. You assumed he did. Disappointed.

Edwin Tong comes across as a nagging old grandmother. He caught a child stealing cookies from the cookie jar. He asks the child's father in a hundred different ways why the child stole the cookies. After hours of grilling the father, he asks, "what if we assume the child didn't steal from the cookie jar?" And the grilling starts all over again. He definitely doesn't deserve a seat in the committee.

To how I see it, Mr. Tong has, in fact, have a narrative, a story line that he would have preferred to play out. Thus the multiple attempts to make assumptions in various scenarios that Mr. Singh would have to agree that be was at fault for not explicitly telling Ms. Khan to "tell the truth in house". So to say that he has "no agenda" , I would disagree with that statement.

Wow, if this is an ordinary citizen, they would have dig their own grave. I can sense that Mr Tong does not realise that due to hindsight, there's many paths that can be a better path but the actions have to be judge based on the knowledge and situation that happened known at that time. Mr Pritam did a good job of telling the truth while still being civil. I kept an open mind but he deserve mad respect from me because of it.

Is Mr Edwin Tong a legitimate lawyer? Why is he throwing out so many leading questions??? The whole session, he just wanted Mr Pritam Singh to say YES. When he receives no, he gets mad. And why from the get-go, he is all worked up & accusing Mr Singh of "trying to confuse" them when he answers with a few more words? If a civilian like me isn't confused with those few extra words, y is he so pissed? He is acting like this is the 1st time he is doing cross-examine... If you are sitting at that seat, aren't you supposed to be able to handle all kinds of answers? Gosh I was expecting better....

The amount of hypocrisy from Edwin Tong is startling. Tons of speculation/assumptions. Putting words in Pritam Singh's mouth by paraphrasing his answers but stating he is not doing so. Constant interruptions while Pritam Singh is explaining. Using logic and human behavior? when did he change majors?

Why wasn't there the same form of questioning towards Mr Vivian Balakrishnan's illiterate comment? I believe this is a form of falsehood and derogatory which should not happen in Parliament. According to Mr K. Shanmugam, hate speech might be tolerated in other countries but is prohibited in Singapore. The definition of "illiterate" is being unable to read or write, which I choose to believe that Mr Leong Mun Wai isn't. So is this a form of falsehood in Parliament?

This is a clear picture of how PAP is manipulating things and bullying. Edwin Tong is just a puppet sent by PAP as he is clearly way below Mr Singh. Hats off to Pritam Singh and WP will gain more respect and support from pure Singaporeans.

Eh hello Edwin Tong, stop twisting and turning Pritam’s words. He had trusted or believed Raeesah would admit her untruth in October, but how could he have known whether she would actually do so? He ain’t Professor X. Wah piang, luckily I took Analytical Skills at uni. This line of inquiry near the end of the hearing hinges on Edwin Tong’s own assumption/ misconstruing of evidence, on which he prides himself in having been able to make Pritam contradict himself, is erroneous. Edwin insinuates that Pritam/WP never take steps to prepare like they did on 1 Nov = Pritam/WP never contemplated Raeesah should/would come clean on 4 Oct and therefore, probably told her to retain the narrative/lie. Pritam already explained the difference between pre-Oct and post 4 Oct! Thank you, Mr Tan Chuan Jin for clarifying this at the end 👏🏻

committee saw a gaping hole on the evidence provided by LO of different reaction/ actions taken between pre-4th OCT and pre- 1st NOV, but LO gave a reasonably credible and somewhat convincing explanation. Have to say it is very challenging for LO to defend himself and WP without appearing too Machiavellian

What evidence does the WP has to prosecute her when she confessed to them. The only evidence that Raseah khan is lying is her own words. If WP try to turn her to the police she can say: no I did not say I lied, then what? Remember this one is a liar. She can confessed that she lied, but she can also lied about not confessing that she lied. It is only rationale to tell her, if u really lied, go and confess to the police. Now she is trying to use her lies to take the party down.

WP has always looked bad in the sense that it's a play safe party. Better for WP to leave a good name in SG history before it's shutdown by doing the Garang opposition role. Playing so safe will mean change may never come in our life times. Let those Opposition with the ability to be Garang to be Opposition MP. If want to be so safe, don't do Politics. Can be a NGO championing for the turtles

But both of this junior is working so closely together, when RK made the admission of her lies, didn't it seems odd to Loh Peh Ying? When woman issue was raised out and where did RK get info from woman's rights group? Didn't Loh Peh Ying also prepare materials for RK? Why isn't all this taken into consideration? The hearing was soft on this 2 girls but hard on WP. What is the whole agenda? PS did as a leader to give them space to own up under such circumstance but they end up pervading the process and betray the party. And this COP, what is their ultimate admission of this whole case?

RK is just a pawn in this whole thing. She was the weak spot that the ruling party was waiting to pounce on, once they found the opening(lie), they started the attack on WP. Ultimate goal is to bring down reputation of the party that they suffered a big loss to the last election(SengKang GRC), and the only threat to their dominance. Pretty sad thing actually.

For all you know RK was planted in WP right from the start to stir sh*t then conveniently pin it on the leaders. Infernal affairs Singapore edition.

Edwin Thong cant accept his defeat to Pritiam. Mr. Thong, you cant challenge any lawyer with his name "Singh" Indian or Punjabi lawyer by profession are very knowledge and good fighter . They are good listener and put words back into your mouth. Just because , Mr Thong , you work for PAP as Deputy Chairman, from the whole video, Mr. Thong, you are not well prepared to tackle and win this battle. You better admit defeat .You want to put words in Pritiam mouth many times, Pritiam is very skillful to catch your point in opening and closing. You have to study your opponent before you face him. Mr. Thong, you never study Pritiam weak point and you come and shot at wrong place. Dont simple put words in people mouth and expect the answer is YES

This is a counterintuitive measure that will only lead to public reprisal against the status quo. Had they only stuck to the book instead of being petty.

The COP seems to push their own narratives into this and forcing WP to agree on them. I’m frustrated with both parties.

Perhaps there’s another way, that is to tell the truth. Isn’t it obvious she’s telling herself? Mr. Tong, stop using your own logic and twist words. And definitely the bill was way more important than to immediate confront Ms. Khan repeated lie. I would have done same if I was in Pritam’s position and priority.

When an "MP" in Parliament suspected Ms Khan was lying, he should speak up and said I will verify what you have said and please give me the police station that the report was lodged. Then the outcome of his check is made known in the next Parliament session. Case closed. Instead now we heard that lots of police resources were mobilized to do the checking island wide ! And so much time and resources of tax payers are spent on this select committee. So did the elected MPs got their priority right?

So interesting to watch 😂 Mr Pritam Singh so careful with his words and feels like Mr Edwin Tong gonna flip anytime.

Singh is so unapologetic, I thought he’s here to apologise for what happened. I think he was like taking control of the whole session. I’ve never really paid much attention to these political stuffs before, but after watching this, I really dislike Singh as a person. If he’s my colleague, I’ll never want to talk him, the exact opposite of nice.

Hello Mr Tong, this is a select committee to ask questions and get answers and compile reports (like any select committee), not a session to play with words and hoping the person will say the wrong things. If anyone will to ask you what you do today repeatedly when you mind is tired, you will make some mistakes in your answers. Whether you go to toilet first then go direct to the room thereafter go to the pantry etc! Can you remember everything crystal clear? Does that meant you have not been upfront with your answers if you say the wrong things?

Period ET. Pushing your story and putting assumptions for PS. Why is PS even there then when you can make up a whole story without him?
