I kinda like Pritam guts. He is suitable to be the leader of opposition to the ruling party. He doesn't bend easy and we need oppositions like that for check and balance. Raeesah is wrong obviously for lying, so it's right that she resigned. But I kinda feel for the rest of the team mates here. I mean PAP was never 100% honest all the time and have made mistakes too. So...

Is it just me that I find most of the topics are almost the same, just that it is restructured with different context. Trying to use different approach to forcefully point Pritam to the same direction .

What evidence does the WP has to prosecute her when she confessed to them. The only evidence that Raseah khan is lying is her own words. If WP try to turn her to the police, she can say: no I did not say I lied, then what? Remember this one is a liar. She can confessed that she lied, but she can also lied about not confessing that she lied. It is only rationale to tell her, if u really lied, go and confess to the police. Now she is trying to use her lies to take the party down.

I am wondering if this is how a legal suit or inquiry is done ? Making many “presume guilty” assumptions without proof and making direction to the person if there is such a possibility and if you say yes, you are kinda trap though that there may no proof. No ability to refute nor reply except for the yes/no answer request .. I notice that this was also the same with Shanmugam inquiry with Facebook lawyer … it seems that this is a common way of lawyers questions anyone. Lesson learn, - never answer too fast, think first - never entertain a yes nor no assumption if possible, if it is not align to your truth, just say no. - if given NO choice, say no, so that the possibility will not be entertained, else they will say that you say it is a possibility. - pen down all these answers that you put in - relax your mind as this will take hours to wear you down.. ( they will take turns so that they will not be wear down ) - never communicate any serious on messages - take note of what you bring to court as anything will be queried as well. - control your angry or frustration if any. Easier said than done.. but better to know then not to know..

Strange is this high court? It should be in parliament sitting. Like in uk. This only makes WP shiny ✨

And iit appears from Mr Edwin Tong the accused was guilty unless they can prove themselves innocent completely turning the presumption of innocence upside down. The questions should also be leading, if it's not leading, then where the hell is the session going? The answer is either, yes they are lying, or no they are not. If they are not leading anywhere then, there's no answers.

My observations after watching this video: PS’s immediate retort, direct steadfast eye contact, tone and body language showed he was being truthful, has a sharp mind, and a nerve of steel. We can see that his testimony was consistent till the end, he didn’t crumble under tremendous pressure. He cud hv remained as a lawyer and enjoy a brilliant prestigious career, or joined PAP, earn much more, enjoy a strong backing, but no, instead he had chosen the tough n treacherous path to lead the opposition, some hv been sued or charged or exiled. He was always well prepared when raising issues during Parliamentary debates. When he speaks, people listen, just like with President Tharman. Both of them deliver. No doubt, PS is a very outstanding and courageous leader, and has a spine. The people will judge and remember.

Pritam answered clearly ET's question of "why do u think Raeesah lied" but ET threw a childish hissy fit over his response of "dissociation disorder" even saying "it's inappropriate to bring this up". So what does ET want!? PS answer u not happy, he don't answer u also not happy. He needs to go. Not fit to be a minister at all.

What should happen next is obvious. Subject Ms Khan to a psychological examination. Recall her back to substantiate her "take the matter to the grave" statement as that's disputed by all 3 of the WP leadership. Anything less will cast the PAP in a bad light.

What Mr Edwin Tong as behaving was like he would turn COP to wrestling ring.

When you are accosted with a sneaky lawyer of higher authority trying to change your testimony in 10 different ways you fight till the death to maintain your original testimony. This is the kind of leader Singapore deserves. A leader that will not be bullied.

@@brmin7312 No, you don't understand how law works... In their world, ones truth is never the absolute truth, any facet of truth can be the brought upon and presented as main fact of the case. It depends how you put them in words actually. Even if you are the plaintiff victim of the case, lawyers can make it seems like you are a defendant in seconds. Then if you said something off somehow, the judge will give in to their prerogative. See? Your version of truth is NOT THE ABSOLUTE TRUTH... You just have to be the smartest guy in the room. That's why lawyer's fee are pricey. It's not like, you have one version of truth, then you are invincible. That's not how it works. This kind of mindset is simplistic and too naïve; exactly how a kid's mind would work. We are not kids right...?

For 3 months the PAP did not ask Pritam in parliament if Ms Khan lied. That would have forced Pritam to tell the truth and Ms Khan would have resigned much earlier. They didn't do that only because they wanted to drag this out as long as possible to smear the WP. This could have ended much sooner had the PAP wanted to. They did not.

In a COP where it's done under oath. Who decides on the commencement of the COP? PAP. Did anyone in the WP leadership refuse to testify under oath. No. They did so without delay. Was there a cover-up? No. They were not asked in parliament. You can twist and turn however you want. But these are the facts you cannot refute.

Hey Guys, Looking at these series of episodes in KZread I also feel like prepared to give my evidence to the COP. My evidence to the COP is why until today nobody in the COP is interested to ask Raeesha why and what motivated her to lie at the very beginning about the police in Parliament which did not happen. Nobody in COP panel or anyone criticising WP leaders is asking thus basic question and doesn't seem relevant and never cross their mind to ask this simple question until today. This is my evidence.

Edwin Tong is a disgrace Pritam is Leader of the Opposition. He represents close to 10% of all elected MPs. He gives voice to 39% of Singaporeans who voted against the ruling party. Interrogating a Leader of the Opposition like a common criminal is just wrong. Indranee, as leader of parliament, you are solely responsible for opening this can of worms. The least you can do is to publicly censure Edwin Tong for the disgrace he has brought to the country. Just do your job.

Malaysia, Philippines and many other countries for the sake of change, was induced to follow the path of 'brand new', 'fresh air', 'people's champions' and where did they end up? I don't want to dictate, who u should support, but it's a golden rule to put the policies and competency of the party as a whole first, over a leader's charms. Look at Trump, is America doing well? At least Mr. Pritam Singh has managed to assume Ownership and Responsibility to the Voters of the Opposition to bring some hope after a series of Catastrophic events that have led to the loss of Public Trust.

It's outrageous for Pritam Singh to say that Raeesah's lie did not damage the police's reputation. It was only after Raeesah's admission of the lie, that the police's reputation was redeemed. Pritam Singh's standing in the eyes of the public will have fallen because of this denial; Singapore expects better judgement from the leader of the opposition.

The police and ministers do not genuinely concern about their repuration when the public do not know. They have no integrity to come clean when the police lied in the Court. COP is merely a wayang.

Typically political career ends with a bad and weak lie.

The only question ET or anyone wants to ask is, "Why did you lie Miss Khan?". Though we have all been living in lies. This lie from Ms Khan is nothing compared to the lies to the citizens of Singapore for the record.

Your member make mistake , leader take responsibility and follow up , all he said take ownership and faces it .. like nothing to do with him. It is correct that tong said you are putting yourself a distance to the matter.

Why Mr Edwin Tong is twisting and turning though WP Senior Leaders mentioned that they have given Mr Raeesah Khan a chance to correct herself as she informed she was the Sexual Assault Victim. A simple English we understand but why Mr Edwin Tong was trying not to understand?

i dont understand. P says R is an MP that can take ownership and responsibility. Why does P insists R to tell her parents? R is a parent to young children as well. This line of statement before action is not even relevant.

Why so many foreigners in Singapore taking up our space?? I suggest that everyone watch the session with Ms Khan again in light of the WP leadership's testimonies. Edwin Tong was acting as a defence lawyer for Ms Khan trying very hard leading Ms Khan to implicate the WP leadership with his questioning. The WP leadership had nothing to do with Ms Khan concocting the lie nor encouraged her to continue with the lie. It's time PAP leadership dissociate itself from Edwin Tong in order to preserve its good name. A separate COP should be conducted to investigate the conduct of Edwin Tong now and bar him from this COP immediately. PAP cannot allow the narcissism of one person bring the whole party down.

Nice, so many assumptions and speculation. Can the Committee of Privilege( what you think is PAP) please hire you. They spend so much time to gather evidence to find the truth but mr. Intelligent here know the truth without any questioning and evidence. Your ability to find out the truth thru the screens is really impressive, few in the world can do that 👍

In order to commit a crime there must be a motive to benefit oneself. How does encouraging Ms khan to lie benefit the WP? So, to all the "smart" people out there... what's the motive?

Reading comments left, I thought that's a little too over. What is Mr. Pritam Singh good about? Do you guys mean that he is good at defending himself from accusation from Ms. Raeesah Khan and others and pointing fingers on others? Yes, Mr. Pritam might be a silver-tongued laywaer and COP might not do good enough to get the truth people want. However, the keypoint is, does Mr. Pritam Singh, as WP chief, do good enough in dealing with Ms. Raeesah Khan in-appropriate behaviors in parliment? Any room for WP to improve in future and avoid the same thing from happening again? That is not a personal issue. That involves of event handling and election of appropriate candates to represent WP as a member of parliament. That is what a chief should take care of and ensure. In terms of his role and responsibility, he DID NOT DO GOOD enough at all!! Be honest, I don't think the truth will come out easily, because: 1. Ms. Raeesah Khan was so naive that she did not keep any evidence for the promises and suggestions received from Mr. Prtam Singh and others she mentioned; 2. It was not or cannot be handled like a crimical case -- to cross investigates people involved at the same time, to confiscate servers and document to retrieve the meeting minutes, correspondence mails, etc.. Without doing so, with reasonable doubt, WP high-rank members have pleanty of time to be well-prepared and to destroy all evidences if necessary; 3. No politicians in this kind of situation would admit the accusation and turn down the materials requested easily unless he/she has high level of morality standards and would like to resign as a parliment member, destroy the whole party, and start everything from scratch; Basically, without solid evidence, it will be a 'Rashomon' in the end. Those who like WP believe what he said, those who dislike WP believe what Ms. Raeesah Khan claimed, and those with with logical thinking may put it in a reasonable doubt. Everything remained the same as it was before the event.

I also disagree with the behaviour of Mr Edwin Tong.

This whole exercise is not a public display of wits and popularity which many construed it to be. Do not overlook the fact of the matter, is PS culpable or guilty of abetting a lie? If this fact is overlooked on account of his wittiness and sharp refrains, then we are treading on dangerous ground by overlooking the down side of a person's integrity and that's not how we want or choose a person to lead us). RK was made to be the 'lamb for the slaughter' despite her revelations (feeling remorseful and having to live with the grave mistake for the rest Of her lie)(indeed, a heavy burden to carry for someone this young) of her 2 lies after being told to continue her narrative (hoping that her lie stays secret but it was found out) and to carry her lie "to the grave" if it wasn't found out. This was the impression given to her by the leadership, who by all account knew ( they are eventually not responsible for her actions) that RK had to personally take stock (of her onus of responsibility) of what she did ( PS reiterated by saying that every MP in their party is a leader in their own right and is therefore responsible for their actions despite dispensing his passive counsel, "I will not judge you if you keep the narrative) and yet did nothing to encouraged her to immediately own up (rather than been tardy and procrastinating in reporting her lie) to Parliament rather than by their passive encouragement to her to keep the lie and then denied all that during the various interviews which effectively misconstrued RK as a compulsive liar. It is a fact that RK's testimonies about the conversations she had with the leadership will be thrown to the wind with their denials, bearing in mind that her words at this junction are less believable (with her repeated lies) than those of the leader or leadership. This is supposed, what the leadership is banking on to show that what they said are more bankable than RK's. This COP, in a nutshell, is to find out who's words are more believable and not about sharp retorts, intelligence, eloquence, popularity, and wittiness. It is all about assuming responsibility, integrity and truthfulness for their action.

Who started this exercise? Indranee from the PAP. Not the WP. What was the "crime"? Ms Khan told a false anecdote about a couple of police officers mishandling ONE sexual assault case. Did it affect the public's trust in the police force? No. Because everyone knows the police is not infallible and they do mishandle cases. How does Pritam and the WP benefit from her telling and continuing with the lie? Nothing, knowing the truth will eventually be found out Was Pritam asked by the PAP in parliament if Ms Khan lied? No. There was no cover up. And they could have asked that anytime but decided to drag out the case to paint the WP in a bad light. The WP leadership has testified under oath in this COP. This is the discovery phase. The judgement will come later. So why are you judging prematurely? It does not benefit the WP to drag this case. They, more than the PAP would want the issue to be settled as soon as possible. All the PAP had to do was ask Pritam if she lied in parliament much earlier and he would have no choice but to tell the truth and terminate the service of Ms Khan. It only shows the PAP's intention is not to reveal the truth but put the WP in a bad light as long as they could. Don't believe everything Edwin Tong says. It makes you stupid.

For Edwin Tong to say "deception" is same as not telling the truth is shocking. When we play basketball, we sometimes use deceptions, but that has nothing to do with truth. To be a Senior Counsel, isn't it necessary to pass a test on diction? Probably not, if Edwin Tong's sometimes sloppy use of words in the proceedings is a guide. Pritam is right in pointing out Edwin Tong's poor choice of words.

This CoP is a english test, the use of words is not as sloppy as something as I will not judge you. This isn't a basketball ball where deception include your body movement and fake out, a deception in politic and parliamentary speaking is generally not telling the truth. Aceing your diction doesnt means it is okay to playing around with words when the inquiry and gotten the point of the question across. PS playing acround with diction doesnt make him look smart but just plain arrogant and dishonest trying to jump around question. I expect him as the leader of the WP to have more guts to answer head without prattling on useless details.

Edwin Tong was indeed a very remarkable & impressive lawyer in his handling of all the COP proceedings so far. From his line of questioning, I am able to follow & clearly comprehend what was transpired & it’s significance. If Pritam had been more cooperative, transparent & forthcoming, he would have put himself in a better light. Instead, he read too much in the questioning & came forth as evasive & at certain point, very aggressive which actually gave himself away.

Just a Bully minister.....to opposition ..not good about this minister

PS is a good politician, but as a leader, he need to learn how to manage ppl and his team. If he would have manage them properly, all these could have settle by now. If those word spoken by his member is truth, it seem he have yet to gain respect from his team.

This proceedings crystalise that workers party is controlled opposition. The malay member literally for no reason put his pen and fingers suddenly at his temple pointing to one eye of his for sometime.its symbolise the one eye entity.its a code they use to signal this is controlled opposition putting up this show and as usual the people here are naive so we buy this again.

Luckily WP is not our government , with such kind of leadership who doesn’t seem to have the slightest qualms to disagree with illogical outcomes , and who doesn’t put important paliament related meetings and discussions into meeting minutes or proper records! When things happen, the way this WP leadership handles matters is so ambiguous without a timeline and without a clear and direct objective & direction! Gosh, our small nation won’t be able to afford the consequences! Luckily WP leadership is not our government! Luckily Singapore is still blessed with good karma (so far).

luckily this is only a "lie" COP .. Quote .. "ex-PAP’s MP, Zainudin Nordin, who was also a mayor and the former president of FAS, who was arrested for alleged misuse of public funds in 2017 and put on police bail but yet all the charges were dropped in September 2021. Our SPF could not have arrested him for frivolous allegations, can they? .. " luckily no COP?
