    A proper GT for $2K and all it needed was a fuse?!? 😂😂😂

  • @AutoExec1

    @AutoExec1

    Жыл бұрын

    Well I talked to him later on and ended up telling him about the fuse. And he said he had pulled that fuse to keep someone from hotwiring it. Because though it had problems when it was parked, it still ran well enough to be stolen. He just forgot to tell me he pulled the fuse lol but the car seemed to run perfectly and hasn't givin me any problems. So whatever he thought was wrong with it when he parked it isn't going on anymore.

    I've had 3 of this generation (1 GT and 2x Terminators). Loved this generation and had the GT as my daily driver for nearly 8 years. Very reliable and cheap/easy to fix anything yourself. I'm not even a mechanic and can appreciate how easy these cars can be to work on doing jobs like power window regulator, headlight replacement just being held in with shims, alternator easy access, wheel hubs with none of these jobs being over $100.

  • @AutoExec1

    @AutoExec1

    Man I want a terminator so bad, but the price is WAY out of my range right now. You are definitely right about the reliability, cost effectiveness, and ease to work on these cars. I've never had any issues with any of them that I've owned.

    People can hate on the 2V 4.6 all they want but, man, it’s a reliable engine! What’s funny is I’ve always heard about them (and the 5.4 Triton) blowing out spark plugs but I’ve owned a 97 T-bird, 94 Cougar, 96, 97, and 06 Crown Vics, and 99 Grand Marquis and none of them ever blew a plug. In fact, the only issue I ever had was my 06 Crown Vic developed the classic coolant leak from the plastic intake. I even have a 97 Cobra with the 4V 4.6 and it’s also been trouble free for 103k. Great work, brother!

  • @AutoExec1

    @AutoExec1

    Жыл бұрын

    That is very true. Very reliable, and that says alot about these cars. My bullitt blew a sparkplug but it was a decently easy fix and ran great from that day on.

  • @JROC734

    @JROC734

    17 күн бұрын

    I agreed that they're generally reliable, but WTF? Your 06 CV has the plastic thermostat housing? My 99 GT had that crack happen sometime in 04/05, and at the time a replacement intake from Ford was $730 for a new one, and an install. Again that was 20 years ago, but it was the 01+ PI manifold with the aluminum housing cast into the composite manifold. The 06 CV didn't get the updated PI manifold that came out in 01? But yes blown out spark plugs are highly exaggerated. Learn to tighten your spark plugs people. Even on my 4 thread headed Lightning and Terminator running higher than factory bewst's I've never blown out a spark plug. The problem with SN95 cars is they're just kind of turds compared to their competitors from Chevy and Pontiac. Comparing a LS1/T56 to a 4.6L SOHC/TR3650 is like comparing a new Iphone to an old Blackberry. Same with the chassis. A GEN3/GEN4 Fbody is way more solid than a Foxbody/SN95. As for the suspension the GEN4 Fbodys SLA setup is leaps and bounds better than the Mustangs prehistoric stamped strut setup. When talking rear suspensions it's not even worth comparing. The Mustangs 4link is a hot mess that does everything poorly, where the Fbodys setup is the preferred design for building the best SRA suspension system. All your serious Mustang suspensions are designed exactly the way the Fbodys suspension is designed other than maybe using a Watts link instead of a PHB, and not mounting the torque arm off the transmission. This remained true even with the S197 cars. Mustang guys like to boast that the 8.8" is stronger than the Fbodys 7.625" rearend, and yes it is, but a 28 spline 8.8" is far from being considered the standard of a properly strong rearend. The shifter location was even way better in the Fbody than in the SN95 cars.

    Nice car man.. And if you don't mind I recommend when you want to wash your cars leave the tires and the wheels for the end first the body ➡️ glass ➡️ wheels.. Why? Cuz If u scrap the wheels all the dust on it will scratch yours cars paint and make a swirls in every where even if u power wash it the dust from the the wheels will find it way to the body,, oh also it's better to start from up to down that will make the shampoo goes down with the dust a and take the other dust on the body with it and when start to scrap the sides of the car the shampoo that comes from the top to the sides of the body took it time to melt away the moldes and make it easier to remove later.. This is way more efficient and keep the paint smooth and safe as long as possible.. Sorry for the long comment.. And thanks

Took it to an electric shop in Jan. 2021, picked it up half a year later in July 2021. The shop installed a new dash cluster, and had another key programmed. I changed the fuel pump, put fresh gas, changed the oil, basic tune up and now finally came back to life. All I need are the tags, since they expired Dec. 2019.
