Just because you guard a player doesn't mean you deserve finals mvp. For the record, everyone guarded Kobe. Ray Allen was just the primary defender because Pierce was a SF, dropping to allow Ray Allen to be SG. Who else was Ray Allen going to guard?

All Star MVP’s don’t matter at all. In terms of legacy one little fun game of basketball doesn’t mean anything. A single mid season regular season game is more important than the the all star game.

This is like Kyrie should win finals MVP because he made "the shot". But we forget that "the shot" can only happened because Lebron made "The Block". Therefore, LeBron is the 2016 finals MVP. In this case, LeBron matched the west team numbers with his performance before the 4th Quarter. That way Ray Allen can have an "MVP" performance in the 4th Quarter. Therefore, LeBron deserved that All-Star MVP.

@@allanhouston6759 When you account for the fact that basically GSW’s entire defense was focused on LeBron most of the time Kyrie was on the floor, LeBron’s presence alone made it much easier. Kyrie, an elite scoring PG, scored on Curry, a poor or decent defender at best... wow really? Kyrie played great I’m not saying he didn’t, he showed up and did what he was supposed to. But to give him finals MVP while James had better stats, more clutch moments overall, as well as James making it EASIER on Kyrie to get put in great positions to score the ball, giving Kyrie the finals MVP is wrong and any argument you make for him is stupid. LeBron James played the best 3 games in NBA HISTORY between games 5-7 in the 2016 finals.

yea although its just an all star game but the mvp should be given to the player that bring your team to the W. actually one could argue that ray allen could have been the finals mvp as well since he was the most consistence and play the most minutes...but of course paul pierce also had great performance in the final and he was the team leader and also went out rather dramatically in game 1 with a wheel chair so it is only right that p should get the finals mvp. but overall ray allen is always underrated and he should have been to the finals already in 01 with the bucks but of course the nba decided that it was allen iverson's year so 76ers went to the finals instead, if you look at the stats ray allen out played AI in the ECF and as a superior offensive team "somehow" the bucks managed to lose the series and 76ers won the series with AI averaging over 30 but at like 30% FG % while ray allen average like 27 with over 50% FG %. in the nba noisy players tend to be over rated like draymond green and paul george while quiet or more efficient players like ray allen danny granger and joe johnson are under rated.

He didn’t. Melo averaged .1 more ppg, half a rebound more, but THREE less assists. On top of that, LeBron James was a better defender. Also, the nuggets were a better team. While both teams won 17 games the previous season, the Nuggets had better offensive and defensive numbers with Melo off the floor than the Cavs did with LeBron off the floor.

It is an All Star Game and Ray Allen didn’t have a single dunk or flashy play in the single game. Lebron got some of the best finishers of the game, including a crazy dunk in traffic in the last few minutes. That’s why he won, in my opinion, and why his case isn’t so bad.

If people have shown you anything, it’s that when when left to their own devices to vote when let off the leash... they know absolutely NOTHING, other than what they’ve been indoctrinated to believe! This all-star game MVP award had me incredulous... because I could not believe that the people clearly ignored Ray Allen’s 4th quarter play! As always... great work on what you do!
