=================
Our concepts of who we are help us to navigate our world, but they are often overvalued and have the potential to trap us in form. These traits create an image with which we identify, and subsequently struggle to maintain as we are presented with life's inevitable changes. In this talk, given at the University of Vermont, Ram Dass begins by asking the question, 'Who am I?'. Are we the vast array of personality traits that arise in our day to day lives? Can we pinpoint exactly who or what we are within our body, mind or spirit? These questions, as Ram Dass explains, continuously led him back into the void, as every answer he had was ultimately untrue. He eventually learned to identify with the creator, rather than the creation, and his sense of separateness began to dissolve.
We often fail to recognize that we too are a part of the lawful unfolding of nature. From a higher perspective we can sometimes see that it's all perfect, but that attitude is difficult to maintain in the presence of real suffering. If we attempt to live in either of these extremes, then we're standing, 'somewhere', and there's nowhere to stand. Our incarnation isn't an error, and where we are is exactly where we are supposed to be, in this moment. We can't push away our humanity, as freedom comes through form, not in spite of it.

its like hearing your soul and knowing all is well, a state of being, like a child before the others interfere,
Ram Dass brought me here from the Otherside, beyond the SUIT we just said goodbye to. He just knew that I needed this one. He always did. He knew we miss him. He is us. He is loving awareness. And he told us once, Anyone can be your guru, as long as you know how to listen. He is truly infinite now. Thank you for loving servitude Ram Dass, and showing us the mirror within our souls. A true teacher and lover you are. Always. Infinite.
I’m glad to know you are me, Ram Dass.

This helped me soo much. Once I thought I 've became englightened through ecstasy, I started mind clinging. So when I came down last time from it I was feeling really confused. Is this high awareness which comes from ecstasy real, or is this ordinary life more real ?! This cleared and calmed my mind so much... It's all real, because they are all forms. And now I can embrace the human condition which implicates being trapped in a linear thinking and materialism, but to be part of the divine also. It's very contrary, but it's true.

It's all real, but what makes it divine is our ability to integrate these different forms. This holistic connection brings forth our ability to experience freedom and peace. We feel warfare within ourselves because these different forms compete with one another. Everything is interconnected.

So fitting , I had the exact same question after going against my word in relation to someone and regretting it. Who am I? The universe answered today. Thank you Baba Ram Dass. Whats my work? You’re in a school, why dont you try the curriculum? Try being human? I hadn’t thought of that. I was too busy being high and spiritual, pushing my humanity away. It began to dawn on me - Freedom was gonna come through form, not in spite of it.

Thank you
listen, cosmos, it's too much to talk to you like this. This type of echo rings my ears and biwilders my mind. My god this must be some sort of mirror where I realized I was the universe and then the universe said "fuck it" and let me in on this whole game of formation. But even though these words come from grace no matter which way I think of it, it seems that their only purpose is to tell someone else "hey, it's me the cosmos, just checking in and seeing how things are, just gotta knock that domino down.. alright have a nice eternity and I'll be back again."
ahhhh, such fun, 22:00 - 25, oh my Ram Dass, so fun, 24:42, forget it! and then right at 25:00, "is this too heavy?" - our identity has no free will, but when we let go of any form that an identity can cling to, then we are free will - yes, Baba, we can hear you!
Love you sir
You can understand around the time he's saying "both... both... both" why silence holds the truth absolutely
THIS IS IT. Wow, wow. I am shuddering with the realization that our constant grasping for something else, if only this, if only that, going there, going over there, doing that, and then doing that... It is always here and now, and that is it.
Thanks
