I was angry with my partner this afternoon, and then got angry with my son’s father. It’s not that I judged myself for being angry (progress! Haha), but I wanted to move through it in a healthy way. Around 7:22 he starts to respond to an inquiry from the crowd about dropping anger, and I smiled and nodded throughout. It was tremendously helpful. (Side note: Every day I feel grateful to know how many of my fellow humans are finding the way on a conscious level! These lectures’ comments are always a place to find you.)

26:17 a witness which sits with the fear and tries to get it before it gets so consuming that there’s no space left. There’s always some space left. 28:57 the art is to keep cultivating the witness in all the opportunities we have 30:13 recognizing that there is a part of you that exists that is never afraid because there’s a party of you that was never separate- you are everything 36:58 asking why we’ve closed down is not necessary - you call upon your method that brings you out of those places 38:25 holding onto the contraction has a whole thing around it of righteousness, of continuity, that you don’t have any right to be joyful 38:39 once you’ve made the commitment to be free, you have to have made it deeply enough 40:25 seeing the difference between things is wisdom; to get attached to preferences comes 46:02 as you’re more quiet inside and notice your thoughts more clearly you’ll see the judge inside that you keep giving power. You’re at war with yourself. As you get quieter, you see them as phenomena. 47:33 instead of how can we love ourselves more, how can we accept ourselves more? 49:34 looking to the world for approval - have i achieved enough? It’s as if the baseline is negative, not 0, so you’re using life to disprove a negative baseline about yourself 51:04 let’s go behind love and hate, and go to a place where we merely acknowledge and allow ourselves 51:20 we come to appreciate what is 52:53 practice seeing people as trees - including yourself 54:40 the way to truth is the fullness of what we are - our humanity our divinity - if someone doesn’t like us, that’s their problem 55:47 allowing my own humanity and foibles; then i discovered my own beauty 57:00 horrible beauty 57:35 not loving yourself; allowing yourself; as you allow, it changes 44:59 all of it is an unfolding of a storyline - it has nothing to do with me because that’s just a set of phenomena.

“ Anger often comes from righteousness which is called the golden chain and Freedom lies just behind good and bad” “Even if I am ‘right’ it’s not going to get me where I’m going …. Let go of pride …. Don’t try to work it out … psychologically… just let it go …. I want to be free …. If my heart is open ‘they’ may change faster …..what little anger left is painful….. it’s my problem now , not ‘theirs’ “

Ram Dass has been one of my 3 earthly teachers that have truly truly changed my life. I was lucky enough to receive his book in 2020 and have listened to him since. 2 years later, I have truly adapted so many of his teachings to the point I kinda forgot who I was before and have never felt more peace. Hes been fundamental for an actual CHANGE in how I perceive, how I react, who I am. This may be random but I just wanted to say no matter when you found him it was perfectly on time and I'm truly so excited for you to discover more

One of the best I have listened to so far. The methodology is simple, the application of it is very difficult. However I think thru constant practice, one can achieve Freedom he is talking about. When one fails, look at the failure (recognize the failure through the witness- the inner voice that's always gives the right advice) and attempt it again when the next challenge presents itself. - Cultivate and nourish the Witness he talks about - that part of you that's not afraid, or tells you the right thing to do. The funny thing is, all Ram talks about is in the Scriptures. One of my favorite quotes is: "Do everything without complaining and arguing, so that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people." Philippians 12 vs 14 (NLT version) I think it is clear, how to navigate difficult and challenging people of the planet, and in turn how not to be one, oneself.

What we hear here is a series of questions and answers, and this is my first time listening to this particular audio. What a wonderful surprise. I don’t know if Ram Dass would call this a “satsang,” but that’s what I equate it with. And I must admit I generally don’t care for satsangs because all I tend to hear are egos asking the questions or initially approaching the mic to showcase the perceived progress of the asker, followed by their question. And what I have to admit to is that annoys me so I tend to avoid the format. I heard nothing of that kind here. Maybe it was because the questioning was limited to specific subject matter, but these are not only some of the best questions I’ve ever heard, they were all articulately presented, and without any traces of ego. Really remarkable! At the end Ram Dass reads from a book of a channeled entity called Emmanuel, and though Ram considers Emmanuel to still be a “somebody” rather than a realized being, I found the words profound and moving. I may have to locate a copy of the book. I hope this Q&A helps anyone who finds it. Ram Dass is good at putting things in terms that are understandable, and his responses were as informative and heartfelt as the questions!

Hmm.. I’m very ”judgy” myself, and I’m really working on that. But when I’m reading this it feels to me like you sort of are what you judge (like we always are, and me too) but you don’t know that yet? Listen again to the part in the beginning about righteousness and giving up anger? It can never be about perceiving oneself to be better than someone else (to have ”less of an ego” for example) because that’s where we always fail and that’s why: give it up, instead. I’m not sure if this is helpful or just snarky/judgy and I’m not sure what my intention was but anyway. Good luck.

Reactive Emotions May I watch them pass away. Do not deny them. Let go! Suffering let my heart break and move on. Do not dig my hole just leave each other now! That is best that I wallow no more! Anger is righteousness the last obstacle to the inner temple…. Go beyond this now become free let go. Love everyone it will all go together shift my gaze now and I love him angry at actions not being. Do not push against anything. Stop alienating my own self of inadequacy’s so I begin today to give this anger up and not oppose people give it up now to be free. Being right I must keep my heart open now! Stop this judging mind. I cannot liberate others with my anger! Anger is love and equanimity! Maybe it is just loving but my parents and I do not know how to do this! Now my parents are long gone. How do I work with my FEAR. Ignorance and taught who we are. Ego very fragile neuro patterns impulse life and protect society from impulse. Be afraid but with a self entity in this that I am not separate just vulnerable. Leave this social shame and the feeling of violence when hurt. May I get this now at 75 years by observing this hurt and that I am still here! The Fear consumed me ah here it comes again. Just notice it! Just listen as a witness as we are not separate when we are hurt! May I remember this and be a witness to my subjective fear!

This comment is to peacefully protest the gatekeeping of RD’s lectures. Common complaints as elucidated by the community on the Ram Dass subreddit are as follows. Removal of content, privatizing/licensing out content, copyright striking others who post content without replacing what was removed or providing another means to access the content. Restriction of what is released, cutting and editing pieces of full lectures and not releasing the full lectures themselves. Putting a paywall in place that provides access to still limited content. Access to content is overall severely limited compared to just a year or two ago.

Something comes to mind when I listen to these individuals ask Ram Dass questions. They seem to come from a place of "you have the answers". Conversely or inevitably, time has evolved and this type of context of "guru" has largely disappeared from psychology or self help. Tony Robbins come to mind, as well as Jordan Peterson. Both individuals highlight the dependence of the self for answers.

I've realized that after some years of meditation and Buddhist study that while many things have resonated deeply with me, none of the core things really connect to how my actual life or day goes...all my anger, sadness etc. are every bit as strong if not stronger than ever. Which is just how everything else in my life has gone...it's just disappointing because Buddhism was kinda my last hope for not having a horrible fearful life.

Well then, move your study and practices (if you have any) into the influence of western esoteric tradition and teaching. Buddhism is a dead end for many in this life, and it’s a great place to start for many, too. Keep going. Move on now. No need to get angry. Commit to getting free from anger. That alone is a useful enough aim, which will guide your study and conduct sufficiently, for you to make some progress

There are only TWO BELIEF SYSTEMS: 1. Jesus Christ or 2. paganism (Mystery Babylon) In God’s economy, there are only two classifications of people: 1. Saved or 2. Unsaved. People DO NOT want to believe in Jesus Christ, because that would immediately make them accountable. The truth is, they are ALREADY ACCOUNTABLE, they were ALWAYS ACCOUNTABLE. Ask God the Father for forgiveness. Claim the Blood of Jesus Christ as a covering over your life and your eternal destination. Ask Holy Spirit to enter you and seal you unto the day of redemption, and resurrection. If you are saved you have everything to look forward to. If you stay unsaved you may be in a fatal accident tonight, guaranteeing you a place in the Eternal Lake of HellFire. Don’t put this off. Death is sooner than you think.

@@jessibell-pj8dx Well done, Jessibell, then you're saved if you have accepted the free gift of God, and indeed repented. - And that was the wisest step you ever took to secure your eternal life in Heaven with the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, and therefore you have escaped the hour of trial that is to come upon the earth, and the Day of Judgement, a day of reckoning that all mankind will face. Soon. Christ's GOD-BLOOD was payment enough for the release of everyone who was being held captive on earth, against their will, by the god of this age, lucifer.

This part did catch my attention as well. Do keep in mind that this was recorded before our time, and during a time where there was less access to information as to the degree in which spanking can be harmful. I also think that things are rarely good or bad in all situations, and that a loving parent with an open heart perhaps could save a child from a much greater pain but spanking them, but that more often than not, spanking is not done to a child by a parent with an open heart, but with scorn and anger. Much of that data we have today of the effects of spanking later in life is likely gained from the latter experience.
