Ram Dass, one of America's most beloved spiritual figures, has made his mark on the world by teaching the path of the heart and promoting service in the areas of social consciousness and care for the dying. Ram Dass went to India in 1967. He was still Dr. Richard Alpert, an eminent Harvard psychologist and psychedelic pioneer with Dr.Timothy Leary. In India, he met his guru, Neem Karoli Baba, affectionately known as Maharajji, who gave Ram Dass his name, which means "servant of God."
On his return from India Ram Dass became a pivotal influence in our culture with the publication of "Be Here Now". In fact those words have become a catchphrase in people's lives for the last 40 years.
Ram Dass passed away on December 22, 2019. In the spirit of his wishes, Love Serve Remember Foundation (RamDass.org) continues his legacy with free online offerings, retreats, books, films, podcasts and service programs.

This comment is to peacefully protest the gatekeeping of RD’s lectures. Common complaints as clarified by the community on the Ram Dass subreddit are as follows. Removal of content, privatizing/licensing out content, copyright striking others who post content without replacing what was removed or providing another means to access the content. Restriction of what is released, cutting and editing pieces of full lectures and not releasing the full lectures themselves. Putting a paywall in place that provides access to still limited content. Access to content is overall severely limited compared to just a year or two ago. I know that the foundation needs to make money but it seems like there is a way it could be done that isn’t as restrictive when it comes to access to uncut lectures.

Godless people who Never Knew God's love or did 1 yoga Class or meditations or reading how others Think , Say, "Get a job." Well I've done All the above and I had 400 jobs...I quit All of them. Basicly doing what God-"less" people do or Say is Un-Wise. I can Teach Wisdom and Practice Forgiveness and Understandings. Looking back to 1989...I was raised by animals compared to This Lecture and Teaching. My Parents were addicts and alcoholics. They Never Taught me anything ON purpose. I Learned by Accidents and just going with the flow with No confidence in the 80's and 90's when I was a kid.
