This is early Ram Dass and I found his growth and shift over time. quite fascinating to see the evolution. THis Ram Dass has more spitfire, a but more "holy-ness" if you will. I prefer his later years as his wisdom grows but the message is still powerful and resonates nonetheless. This is the "always higher"s state.

It's the multi faceted-ness of Ram Dass life that made me understand that it's all perfect. I kept looking at my flaws as flaws, then I saw all his flaws laid bare and I understood it's not a mistake. None of it was a mistake. If someone so great can be so wonderful yet so "flawed" it gives me so much assurance that I too am perfect as the universe, perfect as Ram Dass, perfectly imperfect

It amazes me how ahead he was and consistent with his message throughout his life and here he is about 35 years old in this talk.

Yeah I was noticing that and wondering how many would. He was obviously much younger in his journey here. I love him but I don't love his snarkiness here. Luckily I have heard all of his later lectures so I am able to take it with many grains of salt and hear the message Ha. Love you Dick. Hope you are resting well.

What are you trying to obtain ? Enlightenment or entertainment? Many talks many times will work the same way and different talks fewer times. I would argue the former may work better. Just keep the message in your heart and you will be perfect. Expand in new ways as you learn your own heart and create your own teachings to live and learn from.. ram dass is doing what we all are able to do

The place behind your system and my system, where we are. I've started to recognize how I've accidented myself into these moments, and what they have looked like in my life, and I can understand what he's saying, and the value in it. What a beautiful teaching. I can especially see this politics wise. Because I feel that some political views are threatening to me; so this is one of my spiritual challenges I am working through. I used to date someone politically opposite of me, but through his kid, we somehow met each other behind it all. But reality (and my trauma reactions) often dumped me back into my systems again. It was quite dysregulating, but now I am able to meet him behind our systems, as long as I keep a certain emotional distance between us. I don't force that distance to close. I will love him where I can love him. And it is my work to let that grow naturally so long as I keep thinking about it, so that I can see him without anything blocking the way. I don't know if any of this made sense, but namaste...:)

This comment is to peacefully protest the gatekeeping of RD’s lectures. Common complaints as clarified by the community on the Ram Dass subreddit are as follows. Removal of content, privatizing/licensing out content, copyright striking others who post content without replacing what was removed or providing another means to access the content. Restriction of what is released, cutting and editing pieces of full lectures and not releasing the full lectures themselves. Putting a paywall in place that provides access to still limited content. Access to content is overall severely limited compared to just a year or two ago. I know that the foundation needs to make money but it seems like there is a way it could be done that isn’t as restrictive when it comes to access to uncut lectures.
