Silent Awareness - Ram Dass Full Lecture 1999

Ram Dass was the guest speaker at a joyful Sunday morning service held at the First Church of Religious Science. He talked about aging, suffering, and silence, and about the faith which allows him to perceive his stroke as a gift of grace from his guru. "Suffering lets you see your attachments," he said, "and that helps you get free."
Recorded in Oakland, CA on March 21, 1999.

This lecture was only three years after he was stroked by God in 1996. Ram Dass went on to live peacefully for another 20 years before passing away in 2019. What a miracle of grace that made it all happen as such.

He died in February of this year, 2020. It seems appropriate he would exit the earthly realm in 2020, a most challenging year for the majority of us.

I started listening about 6 months ago every night. So strange how well I feel I know him, like the granddad I never had and to witness all the stages of this man's life in a matter of months through this timeless medium. How bewildering it all is.

I cannot remember the exact date but Ram Dass came into my life the end of 2019/ start of 2020… I wouldn’t be surprised if it was the exact moment he left his body. I used to get sad that he was gone but have since realized through his teachings who I really am and that there is no where to go. I feel the divine grace and hear the cosmic giggle emanating from all. We are all exactly where we were meant to be! ❤

Admin herre (now) - knowing him personally at the end of his life he had crystallized the practice of Loving Awareness, in plain english - he synthesized the spiritual path of going from 'who we think we are - to who we really are' in a practical self directed way. I am Loving Awareness. Hope this is helpful. I came to know a being who is the most free person I know and he was in a wheelchair and often in alot of nerve pain. WOW.
