Ram Dass: Freedom From Fear - Here and Now Ep. 223
In this recording from 1982, Ram Dass answers a wide range of questions, including how we can find freedom from fear, plus leads a meditation on how to tune into our intuition.

In this episode, Ram Dass answers questions about:
What it’s like to be on stage
Detachment and compassion
The individuality of the soul
The issue of rebirth
Freedom from fear
How to tune into one’s intuition and follow one’s heart
“Fear comes out of your identification with your separateness. As long you are separate, you are identified with that which is in time and space. And that which is in time and space is changing. You are identified with something which is changing all the time, and that has inherent within it fear. So inherent within your identification with separateness is fear. The freedom from fear comes from the identification with that in you which is not the separate forms, which is not stuff, but lies behind stuff. And the minute you identify with that, you are no longer afraid.” - Ram Dass

been viciously brutally violently raped, at the level of my soul, by my best friend, who abandoned, and betrayed me, and disposed of me like garbage... the suffering is unbearable. the trauma and the panic truly suffocate me. but there are some things I've learned to appreciate about myself, like: - my kind eyes - my sweet smile - my intelligence - my wisdom - my incredible ability to truly listen and to really hear - my softness - the bitch in me - the poetry in me - when I love, I give EVERYTHING - my innocence - my sweet gentleness - my willingness - my openness - my discernment - my unfolding - my empathy - my writing - my talents - my heart - my beautiful magical self-healing wise miraculous gorgeous body

this was such a healing thank you! Suddenly clarified my lifelong study of Holocaust and deep dive into activism in the prison system, getting caught in identification as the light bearer, but I said yes to the work -- which now is clearly to love your way through the darkness, to keep opening and embracing darkness back into the light. YES! this episode explains that yes it was a choice of creative consciousness, definitely! thank you thank you! So liberating at last from the confusion and shame of what it seemed to have cost me. Much much love, namaste! XO

Everyone is here to work out their own salvation; their own medicine. At the end, we answer for ourselves with what we have done or didn't do.

I'm going to go out on a limb here, and I'll probably get lots of blowback...but I feel the need to say it. I'm extremely grateful for the community that posts the lectures of Ram Dass. They have been VERY helpful. Thank you! What I find distracting is their need to add up to 30 minutes of their own commentary before every lecture. If they chose to do that, fine. Then advertise it as so. But they don't. The headline states it's Ram Das...then it's others interjecting their own dialog for a third of the recording. It feels like you're just riding his coattails. If you have things you want to say...why not post your own videos under your name? I'm not saying what you have to say isn't valuable. I'm just saying that it's not Ram Das. Thank you.

Gary, I hear you’d like some predictability from the headline. And if they keep it in perhaps making a note that ROM-DOS starts at a certain time stamp so you can efficiently choose what part of the whole video recording you’d like to listen to. I would enjoy that too. Are usually look into the comments to see if someone has posted the timestamp for when Ram Das starts talking. I also find that the commentary does not enrich my experience.

I am probably just as confused as anybody else but I have always felt that hierarchies need to crumble in the spirituality that is to come. Looking up to the great saviors and sages must come to an end. No more parents. Trust your gut and not the king. We've always been bamboozled by great showmen who know how to play our thirst for the beyond, and then we act surprised when they turn out to not be what they pretend to be. Turn towards your friends and the immediate people in your life. It's all right there. Bless
