    The problem with your seatbelt wearing is that in case of the crash there's nothing that holds back your upper body. Sure, the waist belt will prevent you from going through the windshield. But your face will go straight for the steering wheel and when that airbag opens you will feel it full force and it's will seriously hurt you because you are more close to it than you're supposed to be because the shoulder belt is supposed to hold you back in your seat. "In motor vehicle crashes resulting in airbag deployment, drivers and passengers who are not wearing seatbelts are at higher risk of cervical spine (neck) fractures and other spinal cord injuries, according to a study in the March 15 issue of Spine, a peer-reviewed journal that is published by Lippincott Williams & Wilkins." And what's often overlooked is the argument "I am a good driver". Hey you may be the best driver in the world. That doesn't mean there isn't some idiot out there who ignores your right of way or didn't see the red traffic light and crosses your path and you t-bone them and then you're going down from 50 to 0 in naught-point-five seconds. Just watch "best of drivers" videos here on youtube.

    Also imagine how the upper part of the body will be flip-flopping around if you roll the car. There is a reason they make the seatbelt the way they do.

    Dear Conner, the way you report about Germany is wonderful. I celebrate how happy you are about things and how you value them that are commonplace to me. The moment when you praised the sunset kicked me ... once I was in Bali and Sri Lanka, what beautiful sunsets - but when was the last time you watched a sunset near your city? ... took your time? ... value things and everyday life? Yes, Germany is a beautiful country, you can experience great things here. Like every place in the world, it is the people who make it wonderful and unfortunately also horrific. There are also places here that are not beautiful and unfriendly or dangerous people. It is the same everywhere, regardless of skin color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, etc. - we have to ensure that a place is wonderful and also enjoy what we have directly - openly and with appreciation and respect for our fellow human beings. Nice content, keep it up and all the best!

    Connor will also put the seat belt around your shoulder in Germany because that costs a fine if you don't do it. At some point the civilian patrols catch you with a police video car and then there is a lesson on seat belts and their correct use! Incidentally, the passengers in the back also have to buckle up, which also costs a fine if they are caught without a seat belt!

  • @RCBirds

    @RCBirds

    3 жыл бұрын

    Not only for the police. There is a coincidence between the sensors in the seat, the belt lock and the airbags. Not to use the belt is one thing, the airbags are not activated. In case of accident serious injuries because of been thrown through the windshield are normal. But if the airbags starts to work and the upper body isn't held back enough this maybe lethal.

  • @TheGLORY13
    @TheGLORY133 жыл бұрын

    If a seatbelt in it's normal position makes you feel like you can't drive as well, I'm thinking you probably shouldn't have a license to begin with. The ONLY time it hinders you is when it occasionally randomly locks because you moved forward too quickly. To think a normal seatbelt is a hindrance when rally drivers and any form of motor sport all wear them at much higher speeds and require vastly more precision driving and have 0 complaint is honestly mind numbing.

    Lil correction there at 4:50. These are E-Schwalben. It's a newer (in my opinion) uglier version of the Simson Schwalbe that was produced in the GDR from 1964 until 1986 in Suhl (Thüringen). They run on battery as the name suggests. You can find these in most of the bigger citys around Germany. And nice video as allways btw. :D

    Speed cameras are prevalent in the US too. Just depends where you live. I had a few mailed to my house. Although they are not the same as a real "ticket".

    Fun fact: These old buildings sometimes get larger and larger floor by floor, this is because some hundreds of years ago taxes were paid by footprint size. This is basically early tax evasion.

    that's so cool info, i think the English/British had a similar concept when it came to fishing cottages, buildings constantly grew upwards to avoid taxation xD

    Raclette, this is a typical swiss meal, melted cheese, to be eaten hot. To have these Table-ovens becomes more and more popular also in Germany. Greetings from Switzerland

    It's so retro now, a few years ago you could find these in second hand shops or charity boutiques at almost chump change here in Denmark, now they sell online for good prices.

    Conner I’m a American living in bietigheim bissingen for yr 1 1/2 now none student working full time as Zimmerman. Having huge problems learning the language. Tried the German language course but wasn’t working for me and with COVID its been difficult. Question for you is are you learning German yourself or do you have tutor? For me I’m thinking tutor is best option but seems difficult finding someone. Do you have any advise.

    If you wanna eat (in my and many other people's opinion) the best Döner in all Germany, you need to go to Döner Mehmet in Buxtehude. It's in Lower Saxony and was made famous by the streamer and KZreadr Montanablack. It's pretty good. Greetings from Cuxhaven (North coast here in Germany)
