i have to reply to your comment. to make shure you get the right explanation. the little room you asked us to name is most likely called "Garderobe" not "Flur" or "Windfang" because they have a other purpose a flur is most likely a hall wich connects all rooms with each other. A Windfang would prevend you getting rain in your face when you leave the hous and lock the door like a roof on your deck. so why is it called gadarobe then? its french and means as much as to guard your robe so protect your clothing (your jacket to be percice) from getting dirty. also preventing you from bringing dirt into the living area. that should be it (:

We call them mudrooms here in the states, but they're mostly the first room that you walk into from your garage, or your backyard (especially if you have kids). In places where it snows some homes will have a very tiny space (about the size of a tiny closet) with just enough room for you to put on/take off your coat + shoes.

Augustiner for sure is not the oldest brewery in germany because weihenstephaner is the oldest brewery in the World, And it is lokated in germany es well. But i have to agree, Augustiner is better than weihenstephaner ;)

The room at the entrance of the house is called „Flur“ (corridor). I guess most houses in Germany have it. For us Germans it’s stange entering the house and standing e.g. directly in the living room - like it’s in the US.

The room for the shoes is called "Garderobe"

its not the oldest one, that beer from Munich is only on the 5th place of the oldest ones, the oldest one comes from Freising (called Weihenstephan) that got already made in 1040... while the beer that you were drinkin got first made in 1328, so its nearly 300 years younger than Weihenstephan xD EDIT: the beer you were drinking is called: "Augustiner-Bräu" just so you know, Weihenstephan is the oldest beer making bräu that you can find in germany.

Weihenstephan is the oldest beer brewery in the world the officel date is from 1040 but there are documents showing that they brewed there since 768 making it the 5th oldest company still running

Even if i might trigger some people saying this. But tegernseer and augustiner taste kinda similar. Not the same, but they are really really close. And both great! :) So much better than all these pilsener or other stuff. I'm born and raised in the west of germany. But there is nothing better than chilled bavarian beer. Nothing else needed for a great summer party (or actually at any other time and situation also just enjoyable 😅)
