WHATS IN THE BOX? AZ MODEL 7841 1/72 YOKOSUKA D4Y1/1-C JUDY. LAND OF THE RISING SUN WEEK REVIEW No73

Ойын-сауық

I hope you enjoy this video. This is my seventy third "WHATS IN THE BOX" kit review and I hope to be completing this model when i have the necessary skills to do it the justice it deserves in a bout 10 years time. I have a model collection/stash of 33-40 1/72 Spitfires which i am currently building badly for the amusement or to the annoyance of my fellow KZreadrs, As my competence levels are not sufficient to complete this model it will be held in reserve for when i deem the time is right. If you would like to see the of 33 Spitfires there is a link to my collection below. As a novice modeller my intention is to learn the various assembly techniques and skills required, especially that of painting, so as i can produce half decent looking models, I concluded the best way to do this is to start with something simple, personally i think the best way to learn a new skill is repetition; try, try and try again. Hopefully by completing these 33 Spitfire models i will learn a few tricks of the trade. Whilst doing this I am also hoping to improve my VERY basic KZread skills, so far just uploading these videos has resulted in tantrums of titanic proportions, yes unfortunately i am also techno-phobic.
Follow me on my novice modelling journey whilst I try desperately to overcome my midlife crisis. Questions and suggestions always welcome. Please like and subscribe and follow me on my ride!

Alright Andy, I can't keep up any more. But I want this kit. I have built the Fujimi D4Y, nice for what it is and aling the lines of the Hobby 2000 Gekko you recently made. We are getting some good Japanese subjects on recent years (such as this one), desperately needed as these are historically important planes but really only the Zero has been thoroughly kitted over the years.

Hi lllordllloyd, nearly there only 3 more to go, got to be honest it looks really nice am playing around with the cockpit at the mo. have just been reading about the Aichi M6a1 Seiran, now theres an interesting story, Submarine aircraft carriers, i watched a Y/T film on it a while back, but didn't make the connection, probably either Drachinifel or Mark Felton.

Hi Andy. This looks like a really nice kit. Have you noticed the difference between the moulding on this kit and that of the Nate ? Enough said. There are some nice options on this kit. The choice of engines, radial and in-line is an interesting option. That cockpit is screaming out for super detailing, yes the are oxygen bottles because it was designed to go after the B29s so the crew would have neede oxygen to get up to them. That rear gun is a bit of a beastie,it looks similar to a 50.cal. I don't know why but but that aircraft has some similarities to the Fairey Barracuda. Ok it has a low wing and not a shoulder one but with that in-line engine, umm. Looks nice though. In your vid about the floatplane the sweets you ate were purple and what made me laugh is that you described the flavour as purple ? Tell me Andy what does purple taste like ? I thought that was funny. Anyway back to this model. You must paint this cockpit before you install it, and that little wheel is the Trim wheel. This helps to adjust how the aircraft fly's, straight and true and all that. Its not a cheap kit so try and do it justice. Take your time. On your Jack model you mentioned painting the exhausts, well paint them earth brown and the get a pencil and gently rub it on the exhaust ends. A little pencil rub on edges shows a bit of wear and tear. It also good to represent scratches too. Use it sparingly, also rub it on a bit of sandpaper and apply it with a brush. Just rub it on thats all. Rub it with your finger to spread it and burnish it. Try it and see what I mean. Good video buddy. Nice kit.

The director, the producer, the investors, the cameraman, the sound editor, the star of the show, the postman who deserves a shout out for all the deliveries he has made recently, the tea-lady, the old dear next door, two cats who showed me their arse as a response, and a random bloke i met in the street; all took a vote and went.............NAH!
