Witchcraft was a Ford-built B24H (I think a block 15) and the front part of the Ford H models was quite different from the B24J in that it had a wraparound panel. It's quite easy to see on photos of NMF aircraft and slightly less easy to see on camo versions. It really looks nothing like the non-Ford built aircraft and you cannot really build it from this without extensive conversion work

Great kit with great detail but too big and too expensive. Thanks for the review. Excellent video and lighting quality!

Dusan, absolutely brilliant channel 👏 the liberator in 1/72 is big enough, but this boxing is a beast & the detail looks awesome 👌 I am hoping you will build this kit 👍

I’ve always been a fan of the 48 scale heavy bombers. Im glad the liberator has been given a brand new tooling. It looks beautiful. I’m excited to see how the build goes. Cheers.

This is probably going to be my next kit. Although I shall be painting it in RAF Coastal Command colours and markings. 😊❤😊

Is this kit really just HB's own 1/32 offering but scaled down? Not saying that's a bad thing, just saying. Shame they approached the turret breakdown in the same way Monogram did, complete with unsightly seams! 48 years ago, this might have been acceptable considering the technology, but come on this is 2024! Just hope the aftermarket guys are listening. Apart from that, this looks to be a fine replica of a B-24J in 1/48.👍

That looks a lot better than the 1:48 Revell B24D I've been trying to finish, it's been on the model bench for a year now. I hope they do a B24D option soon. I'm looking forward to watching you make this model it may give me the incentive to finish mine. Best wishes from NZ.

I started building mine. Make sure you have the wheel wells all the way back or else you won't get the wing leading edge to close. Horizontal/ vertical tail surfaces no problems.

Liberator is my favourite US bomber ,so elegant compared to B-17 . That fuselage is massive ......then you see the wings ! I was lucky enought to go inside one ( Ex Indian ) at COSFORD RAF MUSEUM in UK .

Love all that detail and the riveting. Engines and wheels need aftermarket resin replacements, though. But I don’t care for how they have moulded the clear pieces on the turrets, those seams look like they are going to be difficult or even impossible to hide. Or did I get that wrong? 😅 I will likely get one for the stash and wait for aftermarket pieces to show up. Thanks for the peek into the box. 👍🏻👍🏻

Basically the same multi-piece front and rear nose turrets as the 50+ yr old Monogram kit. Pretty pathetic in my opinion. Sure, it has rivets and recessed panel lines but combine the same turret (clear pieces) design for the nose and tail turrets which by the way are *impossible* to hide and the out of the box terrible engines (worse than the Monogram kit), is it worth approximately $150 USD? Not for me. Oh and yes, the interior detail is nice but it's basically useless once the fuselage halves are glued together. One nice thing from what I can see is the bomb bay is MUCH better than the Monogram kit which doesn't have a "ceiling" and the wing attachment spars are visible. But I have yet to display my models upside down for that to be seen. I'll pass.

@@jrgreiner Ouch, $150 USD is too much, unless the turrets are better designed and the engines are good right out of the box. Are those turrets really so hard to mould correctly?

@@ronaldbyrne3320 Retail (USD) is $150 but Squadron has it right now for $120. I'd imagine that's certainly not free shipping so I think you'd still be in the buck and a half ballpark. I just finished a Monogram J about a year ago. I rescribed and riveted as well as kinda-sorta corrected the bomb bay. Yeah it was a helluva lot of work but damn satisfying too. As for the turrets, it's actually an easy fix unless you're a REAL B-24 nazi... Just make that turret seam a window frame. With careful gluing and polishing, you can hide the seam pretty well under paint for that (fake) frame. Again, unless someone's a *real* B-24 freak, nobody will notice. However, for $120 - $150, you sure as hell shouldn't have to do that.

They fixed the wing beautifully from 1/32, but it is still a much poorer kit than the incoming ICM B-26 Marauder: The nose top in particular. Toy-like, not an exact replica...
