With that context, a person of moderate reading comprehension understands the implication that it is necessary for the adult men who form a militia in times of need to have their own battle rifle that they maintain and are familiar enough with to do their duty if called to action. Claiming it implied government oversight only serves to draw into question if you are dishonest or merely ignorant. In reality they arent really making them on their own. They begin right around Presidential Election time to reorient themselves to the politics of the incoming admin and then they can very quickly alter the way they enforce individual laws based on what POTUS wants without actually altering the text of the law. So under Trump for example ATF began treating the Bump Stock as an NFA Item though it was not and still is not listed anywhere in said law. Arround the time Biden was took office the same began to happen with Pistol braces. ATF is doing this to fulfill Presidential desires. In some cases like with Trump they have the balls to put their name on it and with others such as Biden they let others fall on their swords to get it done.

First off, there is no such thing as and assault rifle, or assault weapon. It is a made up term to scare the normal person. Ar stands for "ArmaLite Rifle" after the company that developed it. AK stands for "Automatic Kalashnikov" is named after the Russian developer Mikhail Kalashikov and built in 1947. Politicians and government love to use the term because they have no idea what anything really is. That is why they can not define it in any forum.
