@@revkallisto How many people selected for Jury duty even know about Jury nullification? I'd say not many. It ought to be a standard practice on the part of the judge to instruct the jury prior to their decision. I sat on jury duty one time, and the man was guilty as sin but the way the prosecutor charged him, when the judge instructed us we had to find him innocent. The guy was charged with "Receiving and concealing stolen property." The judge instructed us "If you believe he is guilty of stealing the property, you must find him innocent of "receiving and concealing". The defense lawyer said something like, "No matter what you think of this man once this is done, will you make your decision based on the law". As I look back on it, on it obvious the prosecutor and defense got together to bring this about. The defense in his closing made a point to say, "His client could have been charged with both Stealing and receiving and concealing, but he wasn't thus you must find him innocent of receiving and concealing. It's sickening what America is becoming.

Prosecutorial discretion was used rarely and used for specific circumstances. For example, using it as a bargaining chip for a plea bargain. Or not pursuing an offender who simply made a mistake. Now, however, it is used to send political messages. Not prosecuting illegal immigrants so they can avoid deportation. Not prosecuting certain protestors because they agree with the message. It is being abused, which is unfortunate.

Wasn't Cotton that fucking shit stain that voted for the trillion dollar omnibus? You republicans already forgive him?
OMG I'm Canadian but this is scary

The US is currently plagued with two extremes. As an Independent, I vote for the least dangerous. As much as I loathe the "political correctness" extremism of the Democrats, I loathe fascism more and that is exactly what the current Republican party is.
This should also be applied to the aTf.
Merrick Garland strikes me as a man who wants to vent his spleen against a country that refused to put him on the Supreme Court. I have seen bitter men in my time but he is right up there with the bitterest. To paraphrase the Bard of Avon, "Hell hath no fury like a federal judge's scorn."

Imagine the damage Merritt Garland would have done in a Supreme Court position 😳
An to think this guy could have been a justice OF THE SUPREME COURT make me shiver.

Not a Garland fan but, sadly, we ended up with corrupt-capitalist theocrats for SCOTUS Justices who, instead of Democracy, seem intent upon creating a government for our Republic that is an oligarch controlled fascist feudal theocracy of the hypocrite flavor.
Senators Cotton and Hawley are American gems. I hope either of them run for president someday. They make me proud to be an Arkansan, and American for that matter.
This is not a government of/by the people and needs to be. Changed!
Running away from crime is not a reason for political asylum. If the U.S. is open for all people in the world who are victims of crime, that’s billions of people. This is ludicrous.

Especially running to where in many cases the crime is higher in usa cities 😆 it's a strawman argument meant to cover up true intentions for mass migration into the USA by design 🇺🇸

Exactly , we cannot solve the problems of the rest of the world , we already have too many problems without importing more crime.
