HUGE thank you to Jesse for collaborating with me on this topic! Go watch our video on her channel here: • Embarrassing Relations...

In this week's video, my friend Sunday Jess and I talk about what LDS girls look for in guys. We first talk about dreaded "list" that LDS youth create of a list of all of the qualities they want in a spouse. We then talk about our lds dating experience and how we really found out what we wanted. We talked about the balance between having too high of standards and having to compromise and even talked about the qualities we were looking for in a companion while dating. Lastly we talk about whether or not you should date a non-member, only date returned missionaries and more!
What qualities are most important to you while searching for an eternal companion? Let me know in the comments below!

I know more than anyone that a non-return missionary doesn’t equal non-worthy man. My brother was honorably exempt, and his testimony is extremely strong.

Something I have learned to look for in someone is how they can handle multi-tasking/prioritizing. If they can't schedule you into their week or month then they'll never be able to "pencil" you into their lives.

Lds girls and really just girls in general look for leaders. They like men with confidence. Men who wear the pants both literally and metaphorically. Men who are honest with other people and themselves. Men who have the self-awareness to not simp and the stones to tell someone honestly how they feel and what their values are. Girls overall like strong resolve. Not sissies who waver with regard to their standards.

I’m a guy and my list is quite easy but 99% of the women outside the church don’t meet and it’s quite sad. Fit, feminine, friendly, chaste, dress modesty. When I say fit I don’t necessarily mean bone skinny, just good enough shape to go on hikes and outdoor activities, not obese and can’t do any physical activity

Hey Joseph, that is a great question! The person converting must have the desire to learn of the truthfulness of the gospel for themselves. Often, if they just agree to join the church for someone they are interested in, they don’t truly convert & it can become a strain on the relationship.

He called me the next day & we talked for like 2 hours super comfortably. Anyway I thought oh well he’s cool we’ll be friends, maybe I can set him up with one of my girl friends. Most women cannot see a guy past his physical attractiveness, they constantly base their relationship based on physical attractiveness but then they realize he’s a complete d bag. Here’s a hint to the ladies most “hot” guys are d bags, look for average looking guys for good relationships

My own advice 1. the first list you should do is a list of things you will do to serve, honor and love your future husband. then you can think about creating a list of things that you will look for in an eternal companion. 2. if your list of qualities in an eternal companion is large - that's a problem this applies for both guys and girls

I just moved back to Provo for my PhD … graduated from byu like 8 years ago. It’s been a while but I’m excited to get back out there and date again. I feel like Mormon girls are almost automatic “high quality women” like your average Mormon girl is like already a very desirable woman compared to the average population outside of Utah and Provo especially. But yeah a “high quality woman” (what a lot of us men in the male/dad communities call girls who come from a 2 parent home, who has a good relationship with her father, who desires to be a mother, who is educated and supportive and compassionate and respectful and feminine and doesn’t refer to herself in her introduction to you as a “strong independent woman” who looks for dudes who are leaders who are comfortable taking control and who provides security and stability, who won’t label your confidence and straightforward nature as “toxic masculinity”, who loves god and treats her body as a temple - no drugs or alcohol, who is kind and optimistic and positive…you know…your average Mormon girl? Lol). Anyways…I was married for almost 13 years before I lost my wife to complications in child birth. It’s been a few years so I’m ready to get back out there and find another adventure buddy/ celestial consort w/benefits lol 😝 just thought of that one on the spot. I went to church for the first time last Sunday, it was in this huge building on campus haha wild…so many cute and I mean CUTE bright and smiley and happy and GOOD girls there. The guys were adorable as well. Everything is so much less scary now that I’ve been there and done that and am now in my early to mid 30’s. I wish I had this confidence when I was in my early 20’s. lol I hated how I looked so young. Now I don’t mind it. I still look 20-23…basically haven’t aged for over a decade lol. Anyway…it would be cool to collaborate on a video sometime…just reply to this comment and I’ll figure out the rest :). Peace ✌️

Fallow your dreams mean both ways guys females ... can backfire on ya .. extra dating ... jealousy... but long term you learn or testimony on you good for each other.. appreciate each other more.... Look at it as biggest investment in life ... No rush except to get to know them ... celebacy or baptized they comitted and can control temptations. Always be something some one you want . Lol. Comitment to God and no sex ... sex gets out of control . Deal with ex's and skeletons trauma ... long as get along and communicate and attracted got passion...
