it's so weird because now that i think about it, my dream is so clear to me, i actually know exactly what i want, but i've been telling myself that it's a fantasy and not my goal. it's lack of trust in myself, lack of belief in my own abilities and strength that is holding me back. but this speech really motivated me to be honest with myself and at least try to achieve my fantasy, because what i truly want is the only thing i have a shot at being really successful in, as its the only thing that i will work hard for naturally.

I want: - To be happy and healthy - Have the time to cook nice healthy meals, do some sport and take care of myself - A non stressfull job with a stable income - A sunny cozy home not far away from places i need to go to - A nice guy to love and marry - A nice little family later -To have a good loving relashionship with my husband and my kids

  • @08wolfeyes

-To be happy you need to know what will make you happy. - To have time means to manage your time better, look at places time is wasted. - Know what job would make you happy and change to that. - The home comes with the good job and the guy you get with that you mention later. -There are many nice guys out there it just takes you to realise when you've found one. Most people friend zone the nice guy. -Family comes after finding the nice guy of course. -Loving husband and children relationship come of course again, when you find and recognise the nice guy. Put things in order, what do you want first and work on that. Small steps, moving forward are better than doing nothing about it at all. With each step, no matter how small, you get closer to your goal.

I want to earn enough to - give to my parents - what they’ve given me my entire upbringing. I’m a musician and I studied animation, which I LOVED, but I lost myself to 6 years of doing stressful jobs that have nothing to do with my interests, still I managed to push myself through them, mainly because I so often heard the fraise, “you need a real job that you can fall back on in case things go south”. Which is true, but now I want to study again which never is too late to do - but I feel like I’ve wasted (though experienced) 6 years of my life to hard work and now have lost that momentum of being passionate and skillful from doing what I loved! This is probably a classic - but hard nut to crack

I want to know wanting what I want, too. I’ve ironically been judging myself so hard as a result! I never talked too much about my wants - felt confused because of that - then I realized that THAT (listening to what other’s ideas of what I want) is the reason I’m confused, I never imagined or realized that I was caring that much about what other people think. It’s hard but I’m really trying to take care of myself and my own will. I’ll be happy when the only person I have to impress is myself. I don’t know if this helped at all, but I hope that you some day soon will lose yourself in your dream “duty”!

Maria del Pilar Serrano Pineda Thats a very wise realisation, thank you for sharing 🙏🏻 I’m not a guru, but I’ve heard from many spiritual people (and it feels true for me) that when you go deeper and ask what feelings, emotions or inner experience you think you will get from the thing(s) you want/wanted - that this is actually what you want. E.g. If someone said they wanted a great car. Go deeper - and what would that give you that you don’t have now? Ans: people would admire me. And what would that give you? I would feel good about myself. So, you don’t necessarily want the car or admiration, you just want to feel good about yourself. So that becomes the goal, it’s what you truly want. Then you might wake up in the morning and say - my goal is to feel good about myself. What can I eat to achieve this goal? What might I say to myself to achieve this goal of feeling good about myself? Where might I go? What could I do? Whom might I spend time with? What might I say to them (perhaps with the intention of helping them to also feel good about themselves)? And so, your feeling becomes the goal and in little ways each day you can consider how best to achieve this more purposeful goal 🙏🏻 Hope that helps, warmest, Lisa

You are Who you are but the brighter you are people will deny you. Will use you as a light but only to see what they want to see. Because they don't want to share the bad they do to others.

Tracy Estabrooks, if you say it is hard, it will be hard. Who cares what anyone else thinks, what you think about yourself is the most important thing. Just saying...

People will often react to you based on how you expect them to react. What you communicate to them will be in line with your expectations of them for yourself. If you are against other people because you think they are against you then it is likely they will act as such.

love this talk. thank you! I think the trust/belief part mentioned in the middle of the talk is inspiring. I guess i am in the middle of the road pursuing my dream and I have been hesitant recently because of the trust issue. I am not sure 1.if I will do great and get a good job once I go for this career (statistician) 2. if the market for the statistician will be good for master degree with relevant coding skill only(not up to programmer's level), not Ph.d. bc i am not gonna pursue ph.d, but only masters and I am not gonna go for being that so great at programming in R or python, but stay at ok level. )

Oh wow this is so interesting because i'm currently doing an undergrad in data analytics/data science and very good at Python and R, but even I'M nervous and doubting myself... just goes to show we all relate to this feeling in one way or another! Also statistics is pretty high in demand - it just envelopes more of the core-mathematical concepts compared to the data wrangling+machine learning concepts that make up data science. We learnt a lot of stats in my degree as well! It's been 4 years so I hope you're doing well wherever you are right now!
