Jay & Amber, you'll love their "Living Loving Maid (She's Just a Woman)"!!! Its normally played together with "Heartbreaker" first, but you already reacted to that song.
Rock and Roll. From the best Rock and Roll Band ever!
Nobody ever was ripped off buying a Zeppelin album! NEVER!!!
This was first released in 1971 on their 4th album. Rolling Stones pianist Ian Stewart was featured on this song. It came from a spontaneous jam session, with Jimmy Page playing a Chuck Berry style guitar riff and John Bonham playing the drum intro from Little Richard's Keep-A-Knocking. Basically 15 minutes later one of the greatest rock and roll song was made. Great reaction. Buckets of Maple Syrup love from Canada ❤️ ❤️ 🇨🇦🇨🇦

Yes, there is definitely a lot of 50s roots of rock sound here. Besides Chuck Berry, the piano recalls Little Richard & Jerry Lee Lewis..also some JLL & Little Richard vocal styling. They took this song from the 50s and Zeppelin'd it.

If ever a song was born of frustration, it's this one! Zep were working on When The Levee Breaks and Bonham was having a bit of bother getting it right. Out of frustration he broke into the intro to the little Richard number and, as you say, 15 minutes later, this monster was born. Been rockin' and rollin' ever since.
@jenniferfoster1692

@@noteverton Interesting, thanks! Totally makes sense, this song is so strongly 50s influenced and then very effectively adapted to LZ style.
Robert Plant's vocals don't remind you of anyone else. That is the definition of greatness.
Can't go wrong with Zep, ain't no bad songs!
One of my faves! Bonham KILLS it on the drums!!!
LOVE this one!!!! Also, can't listen to this without thinking of Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones sitting in with Foo Fighters at Wembley, with Dave on drums and Taylor on lead vocals! RIP ❤ 🦅

You completely ruined it when you said Foo fighters.
The piano on this was played by Ian Stewart who was an original member of the Rolling Stones and then the stones’ road manager and occasional pianist. He’s also on the zeppelin song “Boogie with Stu” - hence the title.
Been a giant fan of Led Zeppelin for years now! One thing that always sticks out to me, and it’s hard to explain exactly: Have you ever noticed that like the drums, guitar, and the vocals are kind of going there different tempos, then they all catch up together?? Never heard that with any other band! It is so amazing and sets them apart as such amazing musicians!!

Astute observation! That’s what makes the best bands so transcendent. Bass is so steady the drummer can do some cymbal romp. And yet he’s so steady the bass can get busy at the same time because maybe the guitar riff is holding it all together. At that moment anyway. Then it changes! In a band this strong even the singer can call them all home. Of course jazz players are expected to do all this from the get go but expecting and doing can be two different things. This band had it all.
What’s amazing is this song was created in like 15 minutes. Bonham was getting frustrated trying to play 4 sticks with 4 sticks, took a break & started playing this, the band jumped in & we get this great song.
Huge song! One of my favorites of Led Zeppelin.
Simple, but effective song that captures everything that people love about rock 'n roll.
I never get tired of hearing this song. Everything about is amazing. One thing that I think doesn’t get as much attention is John Paul Jones bass playing. Those steady 8th notes give this song a great foundation.
@artbagley1406

And in their album rendition of "The Lemon Song," those eighth notes turn into thirty-second notes!!! JPJ forever!!!

Glad that you guys got to hear this little bit of history. Such a kick ass song! I doubt that you've heard any of Robert Plant's newer stuff. He's been working with Alison Krauss doing some Rockabilly / Americana stuff that's really good (Such as Gone, Gone Gone) They did great version of the song When the Levee Breaks at the Glastonbury Festival last summer if you want to check out a totally different version of another classic. Phenomenal version. Peace!

I have to tell you that I seem them in concert many, many times and more than half the time they opened up with this song, l have so many great memories of them, thanks for your reaction 🤟😝
Robert Plant's "Tall Cool One" and "Big Log". You will love these tunes!
The session musician, Ian Stewart - noted for his work with the Rolling Stones - played the piano for Zeppelin's, "Rock and Roll".
The "Stroll" was a dance that Amber's Grandmother did in high school in the early 60's. Funny, I knew Led Zeppelin 2 and 4 before 1 and 3. Where I grew up, besides Stairway, this is one of Zeppelin's few songs that you heard on the AM radio 📻. Great tune to be cruising in your car to!

This song goes straight into "Celebration Day" - another scorching rocker from the same show. Must viewing for a reaction, too. Talk about a one-two punch for opening a concert!
A Led Zep tune your may want to check out for a change of pace is "No Quarter". It is not as fast paced as some of their other tunes, but is quite haunting and has a killer riff. JPJ's keyboards shine in the song.
Both times I saw them in concert they opened with this song.
THIS is your first time for this song? Holy cow! This is one of the most iconic songs ever! Up there with You Shook Me All Night Long, Bohemian Rhapsody, Sweet Emotion, Comfortably Numb, and their own Stairway to Heaven. I sometimes forget you're still getting educated. So fun seeing your reactions to songs we've all heard for decades.

This is one of the absolute best!! Thanks.
The most rocking’ song ever! Ian Stewart is on piano. He was an unofficial member of The Rolling Stones. This song was inspired by Little Richard.
Epitome of Rock and Roll!
Absolutely good rock ‘n’ roll music brings back good memories❤👵
Love you guys. Thanks for playing our British bands.not bad are they.
Review some of Plant's solo material like "Big Log", "Heaven Knows", "In The Mood", and "Tall Cool One" and "Rockin' At Midnight" by The Honeydrippers.
From listening to the drum intro, one can see why little Richard is called the architect of rock 'n' roll. The drum intro is lifted straight from little Richard's song "keep a knocking".
The mighty Led Zeppelin! Great reaction!
Nice one guys! If you want some high energy, Check out The Who doing Summertime Blues and Shakin' All Over, Live at Leeds. These are old rock'n'roll standards, not their own songs, but The Who did them in a really heavy rock, high energy style. The two songs are often run together on CDs/records because they followed on in the concert, but they're usually split on KZread.
Guest pianist Ian Stewart from the pre-1963 Rolling Stones lineup plays on this track.
Released in 1971. Only ten years away from the heydey of Chuck Berry, Little Richard, and other early rock pioneers who heavily influenced these young Englishmen. It's funny how it can still be nostalgic fifty-some years later - when listening to this is the definition of nostalgia. They were the "new thing" that only existed because of the 1950s rockers...
Greatest Rock song of all time!
The first band I played in opened with this song. Closed with Stairway, of course. Cheers....
Seriously, this is iconic, try Heart’s version with Jason Bonham on drums! Great stuff! Also, Houses of the Holy!!! Great Zeppelin song!!!

Yes to "No Quarter". Hauntingly beautiful from start to finish. Live at MSG 1973:is best, if possible
In the early ninties when my daughter was around 12 to 14 years old when we would hear this on the radio we would turn it up and head bang to it. Good times
When I think Led Zeppelin THIS is the song that comes to mind. 😁
This is CLASSIC rock.
Here we go favorite band since I was a teenager and I'm 60
This song is all about - rock and roll - but the 50s style of it as Robert mentions things like the 1950s dance called the stroll and the late 50s song called The Book of Love. It's a lot of high energy fun.
How much better can you get.what a band
Everything they did was fabulous!! This live in 1973 at MSG was magnificent!
Yes!!!! Killer drums on this one. Y’all gotta listen to trampled underfoot too
If you listen closely, you can really hear the band's rock n' roll and blues influences from the 1950s. The chord progression is called a 12-bar blues, and it was pretty much the formula used for most rock n roll songs of that era. Think Chuck Berry with songs like Johnny B. Goode, Rock and Roll Music, Maybellene, as well as Little Richard songs like Tutti Frutti, Good Golly Miss Molly, etc. They all use the same chord progression, just in different keys. It's pretty much what makes the staple "rock n' roll" type sound.
I drive for a living and whenever I'm tired or sleepy this one is high on my list to get me energized
My absolute favorite out of the MANY great Led Zeppelin classics! I'm so glad you enjoyed it! It's a total balls-to-the-wall banger, and NEVER lets up!
One of the best "driving waaay too fast" songs ever.
Great song...you wanna hear the best song by them you will have to listen to No Quarter from the Song Remains The Same or any song from The Song Remains The Same !!! GAURANTEED TO GIVE US WHAT WE WANT !!!
Fantastic song. When I saw LZ in the mid 1970's they started the concert with this song. What a great start. And the concerts just got better from there. PS. Jay. Congrats to the Bengals. They really helped my Buffalo Bills. Jan 2 Monday night football
I heard Heart do this live at the Civic Center in Dallas in the early 80's and they rocked the house down! An amazing cover!
It's July, 1974 and 14 year old me walks into Tower Records looking for a present for my sister's 18th birthday. They were playing this album, this song, and I walked up to the counter and told the clerk, "I'll take that one." Sister loved it.
I can't imagine Led Zeppelin without Robert Plant. However, when Jimmy Paige was forming "The New Yardbirds" (later renamed Led Zeppelin), a singer and guitarist named Terry Reid was Paige's first choice. They weren't able to get it together because of previous commitments by Reid. If you react to Terry Reid's song "Stay With Me Baby", you'll know why Paige wanted him. If Janis had a younger brother, he probably would have sounded like Terry Reid.
Awesome!!! Love this song and band!!🤘🔥
I would have to play Zeppelin loud in the house because my Mom loved them...and she was in the Frank Sinatra, Rat Pack era...It was great for me!!
When my kids were teens, and were still upstairs asleep on the weekends, at 10am, i’d turn on my Sansui receiver, and crank up the bose speakers , pop this song in the Cd player, til the walls and windows in the house were vibrating… needless to say sleepy time was over.. they still hate it when I bring up this song, lol
I just get hypnotized by the drums every time
