we have a Target and Walmart that share a parking lot, not even 10 miles from where i live. why? your guess is as good as mine. they also share the parking lot with a Costco, which only makes things more confusing. although i don't think Walmart and Target are direct competitors to Costco, so that probably makes more sense than the combination Sam's Club-and-Costco parking lot that's maybe 20 miles in the opposite direction.

Walmart .. the little guy. If my dad were a young adult today this is the kind of things he'd have been doing.

there are two pubs in the city I live in and for years and years the 2 bars employees have been "at war". They steal parts of the signs or go undercover 🥸 in the bars and stealthily take some iconic things from inside. The staff notice and will text someone from the other bar or the bar that stole something will try and write things on social media highlighting the item that was stolen. Foe those who know about the ongoing war its pretty funny. I gotta say I love people like your dad. if you're a regular of a place and the employees take it up a notch its alot of fun. even employee to employee. love it.

Here in the netherlands those kinda stores are only allowed for businesses. So if you don't have a business you can't go, we instead have a lot more smaller supermarkets! We also just literally do not have any use for those big ass convenient stores; we're too small of a country and we'd rather go to a specific store then all in one! France does have the bigger supermarket/convenience stores though; mainly due to distance!

When I was in high school around the time coltonruns2003 was born, we went to our rival school for a football game. Some kids had a bedsheet that had been spray painted with "The Sheetz is ours!" Apparently, in addition to the school rivalry, there was also a turf war. Over a gas station. I wonder what Sheetz would have said back then if Tiktok had been around.

It's strange because I use Walmart and Target for different things. I see Walmart as a place to get basic items such as food, cleaning supplies, pet supplies, holiday items, storage etc. for cheap because Target tends to be more expensive for those items. I use target for clothes, accessories, decoration, and more specialty foods (gluten free, dairy free, vegan, etc.) The clothes/accessories at Target tend to be more my style and slightly better quality than Walmart. Also Target feels more like a traditional department store like Macy's or JCPenneys now, while Walmart still feels like a regular all purpose store. I don't really see them as competitors, but as different types of stores that happen to have a LOT of overlap.

Agree. Walmart is more for grocery shopping and for non grocery, Wal-Mart has more choices but Target has better qualities. Walmart is on top. Target is below just looks more polished.

LOL I love the analogy you made about seeing a Walmart employee in Target is like seeing a teacher outside of school. I work in a grade school and I always talk about how it is so funny when you see a student outside of the school setting, because they act like you're not supposed to exist anywhere else.
