The fact that Cate Blanchett practically begged Guillermo to voice Spazzatura, which resulted in her making nothing but monkey noises for 2 hours, goes to show how AWESOME this woman is and why she should be protected at all costs.

I love spazzaturas character development. We think Spazzatura is a villain trying to hurt Pinocchio but we learn Spazzatura was abandoned as a baby, left to die at the bottom of the cage in the rain. As an adopted person, I felt that. I remember feeling bitter and confused for many years. Spazzatura didnt know love except for Volpe’s ‘love’. But true Love and pure joy showed me that there is more to life. That’s what Pinocchio did to Spazzatura.

Something that I noticed about Volpe is that when we first see him it’s his silhouette viewing him from behind. His hair made him look like he had fox ears, like the fox in disneys Pinocchio, but when we see him in the light he’s a human. His hair is a cool reference to the fox ears, plus he has orange hair like a fox and you can faintly see white on the tips of it. I just thought it was a cool detail and felt like sharing

I want to clarify for the people who think this is a kids movie... It is NOT! I looked into it and the PG (parental guidance) stands as the film is meant for maturer audience but it can still be viewed by children if their caretakers accept that this movie contains themes that while dark do happen in this reality (war, death, how not everyone has your best intentions) and must be followed through with conversations explaining them. I was shocked too because movies like Tangled and Moana have it as well but then I remembered they also present more mature themes (death, kidnapping, explosions) but I guess the general consensus is more accepting because they both have more colorful color palettes and wackier slap stick shenanigans to them. Sorry for the essay. Hope that makes sense 🕊️
