@@CelebratingAppalachia Tipper, there's a saying that goes "One is nearer to God's heart in a garden than anywhere else on earth." I guess that's why you love being in your garden so much. Y'all and your girls are the definition of God-fearing Christians. We need more folks like y'all in this world. Your garden looks very nice and so well kept. Hope you'll share your experience about canning your potatoes with your viewers in upcoming videos.
I love Matt's sense of humor: "long as it don't interfere with you cooking supper!" There may be some women who'd be offended by such a remark, but I find it endearing! Shows how much he appreciates your cooking skills...a real compliment!
Watching y'all together talking is like a visit with relatives or dear neighbors. Thank you for sharing your life with us.

The more I watch you in the garden the more I can understand why you will miss the bounty of fresh food at your disposal when the season changes..So satisfying to partake of the harvest of your labor...That food looks wonderful..Thanks again for sharing, Tipper and Matt, I enjoy watching you two work together and then have your popsicle chronicles..🤗❤️

I agree with Matt too, I don't handle the heat and humidity like I used too, I think it's changed as I have gotten older..Although I enjoy summer as a whole, I can tolerate colder weather easier..
What a bounty! Having a garden takes work and commitment but is so satisfying. You guys are charming to watch as you take a break. It IS hard to believe it’s August. I’m already starting to miss fresh corn and tomatoes. Thanks for sharing.
Growing up on the farm, mom always canned what she called “cellar soup” because that’s where we stored it. All the different veggies from the garden. It was so good on cold winter days.
We are years behind in our garnering journey…drought and limited growing season in the mountains here has me praying for the times we have the plenty you are receiving 💚🙏🏻
Well...Mat...I am a Fall and Winter person myself!! I miss living in the country...lived in Vermont for 10 years back in the mid to late 70s. People were so nice. Watching you brings back so many memories. Thank you.
“When the cold wind blows, you’ll wish you had it.” Many if us need to be prepared to those “Cold wind” days. Sounds like a country song.
There is no better time to grow your own food than right now. Wonderful garden!
Okra is related to Cotton, Hollyhocks, Hibiscus, Flower of an Hour. They’re all so beautiful💚
It is so good to see you and your magnificent garden. I was worried that the floods had done damage in your region. Appalachia was mentioned in the news, and I immediately thought of you. Stay safe! God bless, Greetings from AZ.
The Lord has blessed ya'll with such bounty from your garden. Love your popsicle break chats. Like Matt I'm done with summer and looking forward to fall. I know what The Deer Hunter is lookin ' forward to!
Years ago when my husband was alive we had a large garden and it seemed that the more beans you picked the more came along. Aside from cooking them as a vegetable I made mustard beans and dilled beans so we were eating them well into winter.
Hi Tipper, We had okra often when we lived overseas when I was a child. Always loved it. So this video brings back nice memories. By the way, whenever you're with Matt, your face just lights up! It's beautiful. Must be true love! Well, he is a handsome devil and a good man, who stands by his family. That's the best kind of man there is. God bless!
I'm with Matt in that I love fall and do well with winter (as long as there's not a bunch of snow or ice). We live in Kentucky and are very sad about the flooding. Our area hasn't been affected, but so many communities close to us have been devastated. I love your garden videos and popsicle sessions, gardening vicariously through y'all.

Bowl, basket, bucket and pail.... what a bounty. And the joy of getting it with your own hands by the sweat of your brow.. Wow.
My Pa (grandfather) ate “string beans” ever day of his life. Me & Ma grew them. Endless hours stringing beans, cannin beans. Pa lived to age 104! We do believe in green beans.
I don't usually watch the videos where people just sit and talk but for some reason yours is just enjoying and I love you husband since of humor so funny, reminds me of the old days in the late '60s early 70s when my grandparents would tease each other or what I call country sense of humor I enjoy hearing the wildlife in the background with casadia singing.
Very nice video! So relaxing, love the popsicles chat, glad to see your handsome hubby in more, thank you for sharing with us your gardens are beautiful!
Life with Tipper and the Deer Hunter, it's a beautiful thing to see! I love coming by when you two are working in the garden, it's just such a peaceful place. You two work so good together in the garden and in the house. I know that the Deer Hunter works inside as much as outside helping to put up the food. You two are heartwarming to watch. I am so very proud of you both!
Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful Appalachian life with us!!!
Thank you Ma'am and Sir.
I love your videos....Watching, takes me back home to where I was raised...God Bless and thank You....
Very nice to sit in on your garden conversations with Matt. As we get into our senior years we gradually become the last survivor and there are fewer and fewer left to converse with. Until the last ten days or so here in central Texas the heat and drought was very oppressive and now days in the lower 90's almost seem like an early autumn. The locusts singing their summer song in the background take my memories back to always because never a summer goes by without hearing them . Thanks for taking us along for a very special day in the garden . Best regards to you and yours.

I am from Western NC, and so I really enjoy your videos, and your girls' videos. I live in Colorado now, moved away 3 years ago to Louisiana first and now Colorado. But Lordy I miss NC so much. The garden, fresh and home cooking, your accents, strong tight family ties, dark silence at night other than crickets, and frogs. Fire flies, lightning bugs,... I believe without a doubt that Appalachia, especially the Smoky mountains, Snowbird Mountains, Western NC,...is the best place in the world to raise a family. I saved watching this until the end of the day because I knew how soothing it would be to spend time with you & Matt in the garden. Growing up in southern California we called a bad cloudburst like that a gullyswamper. In desert country you never want to bed down in a dry creek bed because of the danger of flash floods. Even though it's all clear skies where you are, it might be raining upstream.

So happy to see your garden thriving. I've been gardening my entire life including 30 years here. I live in southern WV. I've never experienced this severe garden failure before. We have literally received 1-2 inches of rain every day for weeks. Violent storms in the spring caused me to plant my entire garden three times and now this. No beans, no tomatoes. A few beets and cukes. No squash, onions, or pumpkins. Maybe some corn if it would stop but it's not supposed to. And my neighbors have suffered the same fate. I'm 64 and don't see myself dealing with this again. Things are just so different in our world now, including the weather! Enjoy that beautiful garden and I'll enjoy it with you! Love you guys and your channel!

Oh Tipper I just love your family and appreciate you sharing your life in Appalachia with your viewers. You grew up pretty much like I did but I am on the flat land east of Raleigh! I couldn’t believe the first time I heard you say Okry because that is the same way I grew up saying it and still do. My husband Larry, and I made a garden this year and it was beautiful. It was the first one in 20 years. I have been canning beans & tomatoes ,apples, jelly, & making pickles this summer. I am still cutting okra and getting a few tomatoes but that is about it. I would love to meet you sometime & hope to go to Mountain Heritage day at Western Carolina. Last year was my first visit. I saw that Corie & Katie was playing and would love to see them play. I think you will have success with the tomato plants. and the beans as well. try some root starter on your tomato cuttings it may help. Happy harvesting. God bless.

I just heard someone say that you can roast the big woody Okra pods and grind them to use like coffee. I thought that was interesting, I’d never heard of that. Floods are so dangerous. We live in Maryland, but our 24 year old neighbor died 15 years ago driving through West Virginia on a stormy night and a creek flooded its banks and swept away her car. Best to stay put when those flood warnings sound. So sad. 🌱🌱🌱
Yeah it’s hotter than blue blazes here in Texas. Got a few storms today though. Much needed relief.

I love to hear the wildlife in your garden, it is totally different to mine in England. Your garden is amazing with so much produce, and to think you will can virtually everything which will feed your family for the whole year. My garden now is mainly flowers, shrubs and trees although I do have seem raised beds with a dwarf apple tree, a strawberry patch, french beans, runner beans, blueberry bush and tomatoes. I only have five tomato plants which my son tends as he seems to have the magic touch. I have some small planters with radish and beetroot but the radish bolted in the freak heat. The malabar spinach has made about 6feet in height but I am hopeful for a picking to steam. The bottom of the garden is kept as a wild garden with native wild flowers. There is a small pond for frogs and hedgehogs and birds to use. We have a lot of wild bird feeders which we keep filled all year round. Would love a day in your garden, especially with the popsicles!
