There is an interveiw,that ray martin does with john that is so good and he sings please dont ask me just off the cuff and its so good no warm up ,just straight up ,I think you would love the whole thing .

Merry Christmas in July....I think I've already begged you to do the live performance of 'Gethsemane' from his final night of Jesus Christ Superstar. John is truly 1 of the Greats. Only 1 other male singer I love singing Gospel and that is Elvis Presley. He is truly a Gift from God.

Vocal perfection, so beautiful and passionate. John’s voice touches you and just resonates. This performance of you’ll ever walk alone was epic.

Carol’s By Candlelight is held in every town and City across Australia. Every child and parent hold a candle in a cup growing up because it is Summer at Christmas here.

John would have been only 1 of a few dozen performers. They're held all over the country, but the two biggest are in Sydney and Melbourne. Melbourne's is always on Christmas eve. Remember that Christmas here is at the height of summer.

What everyone said about the location, which is an outdoor amphitheatre that can hold 10s of thousands of people, walking distance from the CBD (or downtown as you'd call it). This is a concert performed by many many performers held every year at 9pm Christmas Eve (around sunset cos it's summer) and broadcast live nationwide, also re-broadcast after lunch on Christmas Day. It's an Aussie institution. Each performer gets around 15mins or so.

Tommy Emmanuel once described John as God showing off,every thing about him is as good as his voice. And to think he could have been a plumber.

This man is one of the best male singers of all time. One in a billon. He should have been more notised world wide.

This was Melbourne, capital of Victoria, at the Myer Music Bowl, an open air concert venue. This was Carols by Candlelight performed every year featuring a range of Australia’s best musical talent on Christmas Eve. John has been a regular over the years. People hold candles, take the kids, sit on blankets and sing carols. He is so special. You feel every word.

He was rushed to hospital for cancer surgery this morning. Otherwise he was expected to sing at his good friend's funeral, Olivia Newton John.

Mary’s Boy Child is one of my favourite carols.

The performance was at the Meyer/Myer? Music bowl in Melbourne Australia. An outdoor venue where the audience sits on the grass and either bring or are sold candles to light and from the performer's perspective it is inspiring to see families adults and children waving their candles during each performance. This happens every year.

One of his best ever Live , performances it's amazing. He knows what his doing every step of the song. Builds it then he nails it. Farnham magic.

Nothing better then listening to the voice singing Christmas Carols. No one does it better you believe every word he says

Words fail me at Christmas when this rendition of Silent night is on my deck playing, the inimitable John with some outstanding backing from a 100 strong choir and the boys of LRB, cant help but cry happy tears all the way through. A recording of a lifetime! Only reprise ever at Carols by Candlelight. Take a bow John.

John has got to be one of the greatest voices on the planet. Everything is so effortless for him. I love the way he always gives recognition to his backup singers and musicians, his friends. This is why he’s so respected and loved by all. He does a great live rendition of Wind beneath my wings at an outdoor sporting event which is worth watching. Great reaction thank you.

As an atheist I watch the MLB carols for the incredible performers. Voices of Denis Walter, Marina Prior, David Gibson & are world class opera & musical theatre singers

This is my favorite version of this classic and beautiful song. John sings with such passion and emotion. Epic performance. You need to do “let me out”, live of course, all our sons and daughters, I days to come are a few great ones.

Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne. Every year they have Carols by Candlelight just prior to Christmas

My big sister and I saw John. 5000 people in front of him. We were behind. Back of the stage. My sister and I were the only ones dancing. When John turned and saw us he pointed to us. 💖 Not just enjoying the concert got acknowledgement as well. He appreciates and shows it.

He still has it even today we are so blessed an he has always been humble He's ours an we love him

There's great songs of his ( that could fit with the soundtrack of the next/last Fast and Furious movie ) : Playing to Win* , All our sons and daughters , let me out ( which he wrote about his time in the little river band ) , Reasons , I can do anything ( which he also wrote ) . Jimmy Barnes and his son David Campbell also did a stunning Carols By Candelight rendition a decade later. Also another young aussie Anthony Callea also did a brilliant rendition for Carols not too long ago.

This was at our annual "Carol's by candlelight" that's been held every Christmas eve at the Myer music bowl in Melbourne for almost 80yrs.. It's our Christmas tradition!!! This was about 1988 or 1989 (going by John's hair)

@@gametchanger I searched and found a good recording of it as most on you tube are crappy.. This is his whole set from the tour of duty concert.. You'll never walk alone is 7.30 into it and boy does he belt it out! Oh and listen on afterwards for a minute or so and you'll see his humour and humility show... Carols by Candlelight is a free open air concert (this one is in Melbourne) where various artists come and sing Christmas carols - usually it is held as a fundraising event. Different cities and towns around Australia hold similar events - generally Melbourne and Sydney events are televised nationally.

Not free any more. Adult tickets were $78 to $268 last year. Even the rehearsal is ticketed now. Used to be gold coin donation. Hopefully the money goes to where it's meant to and not to the ticket company. Not to mention back in the day they had this level of singer perform. Much lower quality now. 😔

Best public transport option for arrival there is Martin Place station 🚉 Or there is car parking underneath the domain BUT parking underneath Sydney's St.Mary's Cathedral is cheaper . The Sydney version raises money 💰 for the Australian Salvation Army ( charity );selling $50🇦🇺 event supply bags 🎒 in conjunction with Australia's Woolworths company . Australian singer David Campbell hosts the Sydney version , he's the son of Jimmy Barnes whose recorded a song with John Farnham called : Something is wrong with my baby . ♑️✍️🇸🇯🇦🇺

That was great John did what John does and his rendition of you'll never walk alone was superb but for me Jimmy Barnes and his son David Campbell did it better. Check it out I'm interested in hearing what you think.
