Brett Garsed on guitar, Angus Birchall on drums. Both have been in John's band since 1986. John's sons have said that John is now Cancer free, recuperating happily at home with his loving wife of 50 years. Quietly singing and dancing around his home, joking with family & friends. Our beloved John, our Aussie legend. 🇦🇺

A number of John's songs are messages of greater good for the world. His soul shines through when performing both giving and receiving love and joy to and from his audience. Some of such songs are : "You're The Voice, That's Freedom, Age of Reason, Angels, Have a little Faith, Beyond The Call, (Give Me A) Reason, Love's In Need'.

This is a magnificent song, lyrically and musically. Brett Garsed, long time member of John’s backing band, is the supremo on the guitar. I’ve particularly loved this version of When the war Is Over rather than Cold Chisel’s. John brings such emotion to the performance and I consider this his best vocal performance. He was about 54 in 2003. The power of his voice but the depth of heart he brings to any lyrics he sings is why I’m a fan of John since he burst onto the scene back in the 60s. He’s cancer free, apparently singing around the house and hopefully has one more song in him to give to us all. Love the respect you are showing this immensely talented and humble man.

God blessed Australia with many world class artists, but if you want to watch 2 of our very best go to the Main Event concerts & watch John Farnham & Olivia Newton John (RIP) sing a duet of Please Don’t Ask Me, a beautiful song written by another Aussie, Graham Gobles of Little River Band fame. A real tearjerker. John & ONJ have been very close friends since the 1960s. John has 2 sons & been married to Jill for over 50yrs, so nothing romantic between John & ONJ, but you would never know that.

I went to that 'The Last Time' tour twice. Once in a regional centre in a tent, and the second at that venue either 1 or 2 nights before this tour final recorded concert. It didn't matter the size of the venue, or the number of people in the audience, John still made it feel personal and intimate like no other Australian or 'big name' International artist (The Eagles, Bon Jovi, Live, AC-DC, Dire Straits, Def Leppard etc etc) I've ever seen over the last 34 or so years I've been going to concerts. He makes it feel like he's invited a few friends around to his place to watch him and his closest mates have a jam session in his garage. You could also say it feels like a big family gathering, with him being the funny Uncle with recycled Dad jokes and a killer singing voice. He is definitely one of a kind.

How you can you corral this into a christian context? The band who wrote the song (Cold Chisel) were far from your , or anyone else's god. The context isn't religious. If anyone involved in the making of this music knew you were using it to promote your agenda I think they'd be a bit more than a little annoyed. Just a thought. Let me know if I should pass it on to those artists or your if you should stop promoting your religious agenda through non-religious songs. Up to you.
