I love your insight & recognition of the inclusion of their band members...John has always done that. My suggestion for your next John Farnham reaction would be 'When The War is Over' this version is one of the best I've seen. John is 50 in this and his voice is still as spectacular...but the emotion he shows I feel it would be even applicable to the wars raging today in our world. The horrors the soldiers have to face breaks ones heart. That is one thing that Jimmy has always been excellent at, complimenting another singer. His original band, Cold Chisel had an equally excellent singer and Jimmy played an awesome back up singer in many songs. Chisel is one of those Aussie bands worth diving into if you haven’t already.

Diesel is also Jimmy Barnes brother in law.

The guitarist is Johnny Diesel, brother-in-law of Jimmy Barnes. Diesel is another great Australian artist. This performance is from the ARIA(Australian Recording Industry Awards), and the song is from Jimmy's Soul Deep album.

The guitarist name is Johnny Diesel. His is also a great singer and a brother in law to Jimmy. John Harnham and Jimmy Barnes are legends in this country and John F is considered Aussie Royalty. Phenomenal voice even now in his 70's.

The 'bad' boy and 'good' boy of the Aussie rock music scene. Jimmy was a 'bad,' wild one in his past, into booze and drugs and some fighting. His children held an intervention on their parents which turned Jimmy's choices and behaviour around. He says that he is very grateful for that. He's happily married, has matured and does work for charity, as does John. John is the 'good' boy with a clean image. He married his wife while quite young and they have been together for many years. Both guys value their children and family life. Both also have sung duos with a number of other famous singers from overseas. I don't know if John is religious, but by the messaging in his songs I think that he is spiritually orientated . A number of his songs are concerned about the greater good for the world. I'm glad that you have started to investigate our Aussie music. We have soooo much that a lot of people around the world have never heard. Another band that has a strong social and environmental message for the greater good is, Midnight Oil. 'Stand In Line' is a great song to start off with. You have to listen carefully to the lyrics. I'll fill you in with some surprising information about the front man after you have seen and heard it. Try to view LIVE videos of Aussie music where possible. We have a different energy here.

You want to see two singers complement each other, watch Tina Turner and Jimmy Barnes duet, Simply the Best. It is amazing.

Our darling Aussie boy John Farnham has (in the last few days) had a marathon 12 hour surgery to remove a malignant tumour from his mouth which necessitated removing part of his jaw bone. Some reports are that he may never sing again. What a devasting blow to the possibility of losing his golden voice. He is a tough tough guy, with so much gifted work for disaster survivors across Australia. He is a beautiful genuine man & with most of Australia praying for his recovery. I have met him in person many times since I was 10 yrs old. Always happy, joking & loving, always. He will get through this with our love & support. XX

Two of our iconic singers ever! John’s performance’s are best viewed live. Because he is ridiculous live, having been to his concert live 10 times is amazing. If you haven’t already done When The War Is Over 720P version from the Last Time Concert in 2003 by John , I highly recommend it! Also if you haven’t already done Help with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra as well. John Farnham is amazing! My no 1❤️❤️❤️❤️ him.

Pretty sure form memory that this was on Hey Hey It’s Saturday which was a TV show in Australia from 70s 80s & 90s always supported Australian talented and had oversea’s acts on when they were touring Australia at the time.. this was huge hit for Jimmy & John in 1991 and still is today it’s one of those songs that just never ages.. 😊🇦🇺
