I cannot believe when I was younger that I was not a John Farnham fan, but as the years have rolled on, I have become his biggest fan. What a master of his craft this man is.

I love that John can do to you what he's always done to me, that he can move you with his songs, his voice, his performances and his messages. I'm a 70 year old woman, and have followed John right from the beginning of his career. I've been to all of his concerts that he's performed in South Australia, and some in Sydney, and he always blows me away at every one of them. I have copies of all of his concerts. I have a John Farnham playlist with at least 200 of his songs on it, and I listen to some of them every day. Even after all these years, songs and performances like this one move me to tears every single time I hear them. Thank you for this reaction. 💖💖

I’m a 72 old Aussie who has had JF and his music in my life, I can only describe the feeling listening to his voice and music as a joy no other singer can give. We all go through bad times in our lives, but when I listen to this man I’m filled with joy.The pain you have at the time eases away as you’re filled with a sense of comfort. I watch you react to John and your eyes give it away not just the tears, I see joy every time you watch him perform, I know because I’ve had that for 50 years or more. Thank you for sharing that joy with us ❤

When Freddie Murcrury passed away, Queen asked John to take over the lead vocals for them. He declined, because it would mean to much time away from his family. They understood that, despite John being their first choice. But they love him and do perform with him when they get the chance.

I'm a 78 year old Aussie, I have listened to John Farnham since the days of Sadie, During the 1990's, I used to do a jazz radio program with the minister that performed the marriage of John and Jill. By coincidence, it was the same church my first wife and I were married in about 5 or 6 years earlier. I have been to a few of his Melbourne concerts and thoroughly enjoyed them, even today, some of his songs bring a tear to my eyes,

This song definitely resonates with a soldier returning from war more than just a normal divorce. Although if the divorce meant you lost your kids as well that would be on target. A song about loss and terrible heartache, trauma and PTSD.

I have been a huge fan of John's for what seems like forever and will still be with my dying breath. He has made me so happy during my lifetime with his music and his AMAZING concerts. He owes me nothing, but I owe him so much. Thank you, Angie, for showing such emotion for our John ❤️❤️

I have watched John sing this song so many times. First with the Little River Band and then at every single concert I've been to plus televised versions and it never ceases to bring me to bring out emotions for me This is one of my favourite performances. The song comes to life with his vocals. Yes he does become the song. He was so lucky to have Steve Prestwich (drummer from the recently broken up Cold Chisel ) join him in the Little River Band, who along with John as the lead also recorded this song. The song has been a bit 3 times over. First for Cold Chisel, then LRB the for John. Ps I have my tickets and can't wait to see the movie. ❤

Expat Aussie here. Love your reactions Angie. Love JF. I'm rethinking the whole concept of this song. Always equated the Vietnam war with the lyrics, but i can see John's health trials taking a central role in the text. Layers go deep. Love his version even better than the Cold Chisel one, perhaps because I heard this one first. Keep up the great work. You're shining a light on a little piece Oz each time you react to these legends. .

John does this great song, from cold chisel(Jimmy Barnes band), but I think John’s version is so much better, more passion and emotion. Although there is a better version that John does when is a bit older(50 odd I think) but this is still awesome. Don’t apologize for tears, John’s music and unrivaled vocal abilities hit you hard.
