IF John never sings again, it makes me sad..... not for me or his fans, but for HIM. He so obviously enjoys singing, you can't fake the pleasure on his face, the way he closes his eyes.... singing for John is like breathing for you and I. I wish John nothing but good health and happiness, and hopefully he can manage a tune again, only for himself :) Love you JF, you have given us fans quality music for so long, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts ❤❤

Farnsey… who EVERY human being should aspire to be like. Bloody legend. Get well John. Australia loves ya❤️🇦🇺
In an interview John commented that he thoroughly enjoyed long periods of singing in the shower very much, experimenting with his voice. He recorded 'The Acoustic Chapel Sessions' Live album. John watched the 2022 Australian Football League Finals pre game concert in Melbourne from his hospital bed. Robbie Williams was the main guest singer and payed tribute to John by singing 'Your The Voice' with John on the big screen and with the footy fans. Apparently it took John to tears. Keep getting well, John. We love you.

This is in my opinion the best version of this song, by anyone. Even here with John a bit older his voice is still pristine. With all the belting he’s done throughout his career he never blew his voice out unlike so many great singers. He is definitely the greatest male vocalist of all time. And Brett Garsed on guitar is epic.
We are all praying for John and his family ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

John Farnham is doing well , out-of-hospital weeks finished the first part of his rehab slot earlier than expected , he's now in his 70,s and even if you didn't sing again he's left a legacy with all the other songs he has sung , that will live on forever . I've heard worldwide singers who are renowned singers who can't even touch this man's voice . John is revered over here in Australia and loved by all , great man ,humble a bit of joker at times but how do you interrupt GREATNESS , and this is what we are talking about when it comes to John Farnham's voice. 💕
John is magic
Notice in every song he sings his diction is so perfect and clean

Congrats on the Award. Remember its a Global comparison . No small matter. We 'mature' crowd are out there in the world. Well done.
I made the comment about Carole King that every now and then a person does the thing they were absolutely meant to do. John Farnham was born to sing. The fact that he made a career out of it is incredible for him and anyone with ears.

Yup exactly right
Farnham was in his 50s when he did this. Vocals still phenomenal! The guy is almost operatic at times; but just as comfortable singing rock, jazz or blues. He could sing the proverbial phone book and turn it into a masterpiece 🙌 We've been lucky to have him for so long.

guitar Brett Garside =still around - still the best - inspiring
See him standing watching Chong play the intro on the piano. It’s the love and respect he has for his band that motivates that
music in oz during 60s 70s 80s was great.
Not sure I've ever witnessed a male vocalist in popular music have such a range and be able to hit it with so much force. His voice doesn't have the density of say Tom Jones or richness of Elvis. And there is a wider range in Prince. And more nuanced highs from say Steve Perry... But it isn't about comparisons. It is about looking at a vocalist who is stellar and admiring the peformance. Brilliant vocal. Wonderful singer.
I hope you play his “your the voice “ that he did 3 years ago. At the age of 70. I can’t believe we’re the years have gone. I can’t believe how many years John has entertained us for. My memory’s are mixed in with hearing his songs. We love you John. 💕
This is the best version. Still gives me goosebumps.. thinking of you John, hope you get home to your family and horses soon. Australia loves you ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Simply bloody awesome!
The amazing thing about John Farnham is you very rarely hear him hit a bad note just an incredible singer.
Some call him Farnsey, however this Aussie (and many many others) still refer to JF with his rightful title: "The Voice" A great acoustic 'tender' song would have to be - Burn for you. It's butter.
My son graduated the other week and they played “Playing to Win” when the kids walked in I almost hyperventilated I was so happy with the music choice 😂. God bless John he has brought so much joy to us Aussies ❤
Wow, this was so good. If I could shred like that guitarist you'd never hear the end of it but he kind of stepped out of the shadow and back in again when he was finished. Much respect to John Farnham, the band and even the crowd, everyone was at the peak - and dare I add the Thamesmen were as well!

John was around 54 here, and still knocking it out of the ball park. He was singing with Queen not that long back to raise money for bush fire relief. This is why we love him so much here in Australia. Get well soon Farnsey.❤
I’m thinking you guys should do a Chisel week and a Farnham week. It is true that a lot of Australia’s great artists are UK immigrants when they were young, but the culture over here is what gave them the unique sounds that are Aussie.

Known as "£10 poms" as the Aust Govt had an assisted passage scheme after WWII where the fare to a new life in Australia was £10 for adults and free for kids.
His voice matured as he got older. He was still singing like that a few years ago before Covid. I think he did a session called The Acoustic Chapel Sessions at one time which is what you are talking about. Great reaction fellows.

Your so right. The last time I seen John performing was November 2019 and he blew it out of the park. Such a great performer and such an inspiration to all around him. Wishing John and family all the best ❤
I have a renewed respect for John due to watching you guys hearing him for the first time. He has been around my whole life so i guess i kind of just got used to him and took him for granted.
THAT is a performance and HE is a performer. Thank you for honouring this performance by allowing it to play uninterrupted. He's had so many, but I think this is his best live performance ever. It isn't just the range, it's the passion. He sings with his body, his heart, his soul. The guitar was superb. Wonderful John. Best wishes for your continued recovery.
You're so right, if he never sings again, he has definately done enough. For his fans anyway but I just hope he can still sing for his own sake as he loves/lives to sing. All due respect to Cold Chisel but this is still my favourite version of this song. Farnsey just breaths so much life into it. I feel a Farnsey week coming on.
John is from a breed of a selected artists that has clear diction in every word he sings. He pronunciates his words so superbly whether he sings softly or with great passion.. he owns the title " The Voice." We all wish him well and you guy's are right he does deserve to sit back now and let his music speak for itself. Thanks to you Reactor's a new generation of overseas fan's can appreciate him like we have been doing for decades ❤
Funny story, I grew up just down the road from John Farnham, my father used to see him on a Saturday morning down at the local milk bar picking up a carton of smokes still half cut from the night befores concert, always friendly and loved taking off foot to the floor in his Porsche 911. True old school Aussie bloke, just down to live life on his terms!
"...all around is chaos and madness..." never truer words sung. Thanks for bringing a ray of happiness into this crazy world gentlemen.
I can remember his first single, released in 1967, Sadie the Cleaning Lady. Little did I know he would go on to dominate the Australian music industry for over 50 years. ❤️🤘🎸🇦🇺
The rest of the world really missed out on one of the all time great voices. We Ozzies just took him for granted. Interesting little clip from a TV show called Hey Hey it’s Saturday where Farnham sings acapella with Tom Jones. Farnsy and Barnsy also did the best version of When Something is wrong with my Baby on Hey Hey
He us truly a musical gift from God!
John did do An Acoustic album…. The Acoustic Chapel Sessions…. Two of my favourite ballads from him are early…. Comic Conversations…. And latter Please Don’t Ask Me…. I’ve seen John a few times….. A truly great Aussie singer.

Check out The Chapel Sessions by John. It was an entire album, a reworking/re recording of a bunch of his biggest hits, in this gorgeous old chapel in Melbourne or Adelaide, all acoustic and some of the songs completely re-written, such as a swing version of You're the Voice it's outstanding. The recording was all filmed for a dvd release to be bought alongside the cd if wanted and its brilliant. All available in youtube now of course.

The Cold Chisel version of this is also incredible. Barnesy and Mossy... just unbeatable.
Thank you for a beautiful reaction. From 9:53, the flashes of emotional pain and amazement on your faces were so touching. That's the perfection of John...at any age.
He was part of the Australian production of Jesus Christ Superstar, well worth a listen
John is the master of the microphone learnt his chops in the sixties and early seventies and went from there so by the eighties he was a master of his craft and forty years later is still recognized the world over as The Voice even Tom Jones is a fan and friend who was John's idol when he was growing up John got his biggest thrill when he got to sing with Tom Jones on Hey Hey It's Saturday live he was so nervous it took him two goes to start singing the song they were singing
This is in my top 3 Farnsey performances. His mastery of his instrument here is otherworldly.
I heard John live when he was 70, and he hit every note, just like he did in his 20s, 30s, 40s. One of the best male vocalists of all time.

Howdy gents! Farnham keeps blowing my mind. Effing unbelievable Only other pop/rock singer in this vocal range that I know of is Steve Perry.
I mentioned this when you watched Help. So glad it got on your list because (I think) this is simply brilliant. And he would do it again the next night. Amazing.

Thanks for making me watch this video again; really, I do appreciate that. I am very familiar with John Chisel singing this song, and this particular performance as well. So much so that I will often not click on the link when it comes up in my KZread feed. That's the problem sometimes when you are so spoiled and so fortunate to have enjoyed John Farnham for so long, that you forget just how truly special his talent is. Sadly, sometimes I am no longer surprised by the enormity of John's voice, it's just ordinary for him. It's what we expect from him. Kind of: "yeah, yeah, we know ... John bloody Farnham monstering another song". And then, someone or something makes you click on the link and watch the song again and you become transfixed and mesmerized, and when the song ends you realize you are sitting there with tears in the corners of your eyes, wondering why the song isn't on high rotation on your play list. Thank you for giving me that moment again.

@@christhecurator Thanks Chris, this was a great suggestion and brings back great memories.
The beautiful thing with his concerts, was that he had a lot of interaction with his band members, as well as the audiences. He always payed due respect & appreciation to them. Unfortunately you cut out the banter at the start of this song. It is brilliant. There are some acoustic performances out there such as 'Angels', live 2000 with his backing singer Lisa, and 'Amazing Grace' with two other of his backing vocalists. Venetta & Lindsay. Superb. The note you make about his microphone technique is very apt. He had to learn that from a young age because his voice had such power & vocal distortion when he hit the big belts. He was a sound engineer's nightmare because he would swamp the input on the mixing desk.
Listen to John sing Loves In Need, live. He doesn’t need music either. Thank you. John doesn’t think it is just him. He thanks everyone on the stage. He was a Plumbers Mate, I couldn’t picture him staying. John came here as a child like my husband did. I would run if I called either them a Pom. John had to very quickly I think in the 80’s become a Citizen because he was going to be awarded Australian of the year. I don’t think either of them even think they are not Australian.
