I always thought it was a nice nod in the first flick that the 'mating call' of the two MUTO is the same as one of the original themes ( can't remember if it was a main theme or a 'monster has arrived' theme. Having trouble finding the sound clip I'm looking for)

King of the monsters was exactly what I wanted from a modern Godzilla film. Nobody went to see this film waiting for Oscar worthy performances, we just want to see giant monsters beat the crap out of each other. Oh and that final scene with Godzilla taking his place on Pride Rock was epic! Edit: no idea this would get 1k likes lol. LONG LIVE THE GODZILLA KING!

I feel Kong was the perfect mix, it had that mixture of Monster and human time that has allowed it to be the favorite Kaiju movie in the new sequence for me and my family.

For 1 half the characters that were involved in the infinity wars like 20% of them showed up in the movie. I now know how harry potter people feel. My personal favorite is the airport scene in Godzilla, when you get your first real look at the Big G. That complete and utter silence after the foot stomp when moments ago there were screams of terror. The slow build in the music as it pans up his body. The music cutting off completely to make room for Godzilla to release his roar.

WHERE WAS GODZILLA ENTERS BOSTON!?!?!?!?! Come on! When he enters with an awesome roar with the MONARCH forces backing him up and then he and Ghidorah charge each other. Nothing was more awesome than that!!!! I would have also added Godzilla fires his Atomic breath the first time. Seeing him Charge his blast from his tail, up his back, and then fires it, was a the moment every one of us who went to see the movie was waiting for.

My favourite moment is in KotM when Godzilla is resurrected, rising out of the ocean with his classic theme playing. Had a wide grin from that moment on.

There was cheering in the cinema when that happened and I watched... (I cheered also)

“All Hail the King” was a good, albeit slightly cheesy, way of reiterating who is the true Alpha amongst the kaiju. Mothra climbing up on Godzilla in a protective, almost “you will NOT hurt my mate (I know, I know)” loving kind of way, proves that all 6 kaiju (if you consider the fact that each of Ghidorah’s heads has its own personality) were their own individuals and were more than just simple “grr, smash” monsters. That being said, Serizawa’s sacrfice is the best moment so far. Everything about it was perfect. The whole thing, from Serizawa’s initial declaration that he would bring he bomb to Godzilla, to the way he said his goodbyes and slowly descended into the water, is a perfect call back to the 1954 Serizawa’s sacrifice and the way that was done; the difference being the destructive weapon being brought to Godzilla was intended to help not hurt. The cherry on top, and the moment that solidified this moment as the best moment in the monsterverse (and seriously, Ken Wantanabe deserves an award for his performance); three words that pay tribute to the familiarity between the name Serizawa and Godzilla... “Goodbye...old friend”

My favorite moment is in King of the Monsters when Godzilla turns into burning Godzilla right after Mothra dies. If you don’t know who burning Godzilla is, it’s his peak version and his maximum power. In that form he could easily take on all the other Kaijus and obliterate them.

Dr. Serizawa moment was #1 to me. Traveling to Godzillas home where its impossible for human or machine to survive. The lost city at the bottom of the ocean...The way he takes off his gear in the temple and approaches the monster he worships as a hero and places his hand on its skin is such a shiver inducing moment. That scene was so fucking powerful its actually insulting you guys dropped it before Zilla takes the muto out lmao shame.

My favorite moment was the when Godzilla tail comes out of the shadows, to than have have the most epic roar ever, right before fighting the M.U.T.O.’s

I love how Kong started doing Michael Myers' move at 06:30 by closing his fist and that camera shot at 10:51 was pretty shivering since it was referenced from Godzilla vs King Ghidorah 1991 with Godzilla facing Ghidorah.

@@abidakram1159 In the Antarctica fight Godzilla bites the neck of the right head while the middle attacks his shoulder trying to pull him off. Kevin is in the background roaring and snapping and generally not contributing as his brothers get beaten.

I didn't think I was going to enjoy these movies so damn much, the first Godzilla was so well directed.

Number 1 gets it. Simply because the combination of watching the glow magnify and hearing the sound whirl up was amazing.

KOTM should get a best cinematography and a best visual effects nomination AT THE LEAST. I adore KOTM what gave us.

Effects, yes, cinematography, no. It's a well shot blockbuster but definitely not worthy of any nominations. It's hard for me to nominate a digitally shot film that's mostly green screen for best cinematography.

Effects? No, no, no. The effects in Boston were HIDEOUS.

I'm actually surprised that #1 wasn't the "Resurrection" scene in Godzilla 2019 where he returns to the surface fully brought back by the nuclear bomb. The modern version of the original score and the look on his face of he's about to break some face really captured his might and made you feel excited for what what about to happen.

What about the airport scene...are you kidding me...and the moment the soldiers shoot flares into the night sky..and godzilla is right there

This is the way Godzilla should be. A guardian and defender of the Earth just like the Toho version of him became one halfway through the 1970’s film series. I also love the symbiotic relationship between Godzilla and Mothra.

I will admit, when I saw mothra die in king of the monsters, I was heartbroken. I honestly don't think she had enough screen time.

That’ll depend on how well Godzilla vs. Kong does in the Box office. Legendary hasn’t committed to any more movies after that one, yet. But if it does well then they will probably make more of them. But if it’s doesn’t then that will be the end of the Monsterverse. Personally I’m looking forward to seeing how it will all play out for our beloved Kaiju.

"Halo Jump" is truly one of the intensified scenes to just visualize it all in your head putting yourself as the protagonist. Those of you who have played the "Godzilla Strike Zone" that launched near about the time when 2014's one released, will know what I'm talking about. I watched Godzilla (2014) and Godzilla King of the Monsters (2019) just last night as a movie marathon. I'm amazed. The moment when Mothra transforms, then also gave Godzilla her healing and later on dies to submerge in him as ashes are beautiful. The moment when Serizawa decides that he will go in the deep waters to save him and say the "final goodbye to old friend"... Touching. The moment when MUTO first appears while Ford's dad is on the bridge and he pulls the wires inward to collapse everything was visually compelling yet dreadful. The moment when Godzilla's feet appear in the glass doors before the fight with MUTO was truly one of the hype creating scenes. The moment when Ghidorah and Rodan come face-to-face all of a sudden with a blow in the mid-air after Air Force's ship flew down... Wow. The moment when every Titan creature comes in front of Godzilla to bow down and give Godzilla the respect for his battle was too good. The moment when Flagstaff (Zombieland reference) says "you watch the documentary of MUTO's reproducing in which genitals are blurred" and also, "is he (Godzilla) working out"... Truly amusing moments mid-way tense. The moment when Ford and his ally discovers that a burning train is coming towards them and they're running on the railway track which is built on a really amazing height with no concrete material beneath their feet. This one's a dual-moment... When the female MUTO discovers her offsprings have died - in a numb silence Ford makes some noise - she discovers Ford all alone lying on the ground there and just the moment she's going to hit him - Godzilla pulls her up - gains an atomic reaction growing up from his tail to a final blow on the female MUTO. Truly wow! Going to watch Kong Skull Island tonight. Waiting for the next installment of the franchise. Long live this multiverse. Long live the king.

#1 was spot on. It was insane watching it in theatres.

*Godzilla:* I am inevitable. *King Kong:* _I'd showered you with coconut cream pie..._ *Godzilla:* OH SUGAR HONEY ICED TEA!!!

I think the majority of people still don't know that this is actually a shared universe and that might be the reason why the movies seem to underperform everytime. I'm personally in love with the Monsterverse and wish to see it continue.

Wildavid Edume less than half of people who watch Marvel movies are true fans or at least understand the movies and plot... most of them are girls who just go watch for the sexy actors and know shit about what they are looking (history and plot) and the other rest just casual viewers...I AM NOT FUCKING JOKING !!! so yeah, it pisses me off Godzilla doesnt receive very good critics because it doesnt have oscar-worthy actors...LIKE WE GIVE A SHIT !!! I want to see MONSTERS FIGHTING amd KOTM was almost perfect in that matter, not to mention the epic shots and camera work, EPIC !!!!

Best moment for me was when ghidorah was at the top of the volcano. That roar and stance gave the entire theater chills.. I'm also bias because I love ghidorah.. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Hands down the best and most epic moment for me was you see everything melting away. Buildings melting as Burning Godzilla (Nuclear Godzilla) makes his way down the city and kicks the absolute crap out of Ghidora with ease.

Awwww, these movies r too good for us, the cgi, brilliant shots and action scenes, and good characters, i really hope this monsterverse lives long, just like the king

I think the #1 should be ghidorah and godzilla first encounter. Why? Because two old rival kaiju meet again after long time and the original(remake) theme that we havent heard for long time. This scene is pure nostalgic.

Their are just soooo many beautiful and awesome moments in the Monsterverse that it would pretty damn hard to even make a list. I’m surprised however that they didn’t choose Godzillas first appearance on the airport as number one.

@@bro-be3bd sorry it's just a giant mutated dinosaur that shoots nuclear breath,and has a bunch of awesome enemy monsters, Is just way cooler than a giant ape that doesn't have any rivals,and has no powers..

The cinematography is definitely one of the best elements of the monsterverse.

happy 66th anniversary godzilla!!! :3 love that king of the monsters fully brought back the visual personality the monsters showed(even more imo especially with rodan being the starscream,godzilla being a grumpy old man fed up with this shit yet still cares for humanity and ghidorah's heads being the dragon equivalent of the lion king's hyena's/ed,edd n eddy. lol) with my favorite being godzilla & mothra's dynamic,especially with how the film's creator supports it and a super smash bros. parody that i saw with bowser and bayonetta being the 2 respectively.(which actually makes sense since in bayonetta 2 she can summon bowser's fist when wearing peach/daisy's outfits and could see her getting along with them.:3)

Far more impactful than Godzilla emerging by the bridge is his entrance at the Airport. Certainly there's a lot of gravitas in the later reappearance, but it is only a revisit to the original reveal- The airport is in chaos and flames, and everyone is screaming and panicking... until one foot comes down, and all is silence. The people in the airport are TAKEN OUT OF THEIR PANIC by the sight, and only the soundtrack is heard as the camera pans up to let us take in the full glory of what dedicated fans have waited DECADES for... and as he VISIBLY BREATHES IN to show the dedication of the modeling crew, he releases the familiar roar and all doubt flees our minds that it's HIM. They DID IT. In no other scene is it more demonstrated that Michael Dougherty and the rest of the makers of the film fully understood the majesty, the awe, the RESPECT that was due the True, Once and Future, King of the Monsters.
