The 98 film isn’t bad. It’s just considered bad because it’s supposed to be Godzilla. If it was a different or new Kaiju it would’ve been considered decent. All that aside Godzilla animated was really good.

He literally stood in God's shadow and defied him then killed him and took his place in IDW's Godzilla in hell#3 after casually destroying the earth in a beam lock with Spacegodzilla in the same issue(then reforming the earth and saving us in the last issue). Both demons and angels bowed to him but he walked away after swallowing a handful of them because worship and god hood is beneath him before descending into the pits of Hell.

8:04 this is interesting because in the 1954 movie (which this film is meant to be a direct sequel of) when Godzilla is killed by the oxygen destroyer in the Japanese version his scream sounds painful, but in the American version it sounds like a regular roar.

Honestly I actually liked the 1998 Godzilla remake

Godzilla Vs. Destoroyah and Godzilla Vs. SpaceGodzilla are two of my Top 5 favorite Godzilla movies. I love the Meltdown-Godzilla and SpaceGodzilla designs so much, and are easily my two favorite versions of Godzilla... even if SpaceGodzilla isn't technically OUR Godzilla... (Godzilla's cells were launched into space somehow, and those cells came into contact with the radiation from a black hole, growing into SpaceGodzilla.)

I disagree with number 6. If I remember correctly, the original cut features Godzilla's roar in the end, which the american version edited out in order for it to seem as if Kong had won. If anything, it was a draw with them both leaving after falling into the ocean instead of continuing with their fight. Kong swimming away above the waves and Godzilla below them.

As the list went on I was becoming more and more sure that Godzilla 98 was going to be number one. Call me crazy but I actually liked that one. It had Matthew Broderick, it had an awesome 90’s alternative soundtrack.

Nobody’s talking about how Godzilla and Kong technically had a tie in 1962 it was considered a tie in the Japanese version it’s just that the American version made it seem like Kong won.

actually there are two different version to Godzilla versus King Kong. In Japan, Godzilla wins. In North America, King Kong wins

I get you not liking the villainous versions of him people will always have their preferences but to classify that as being the worst thing is a bit extreme to me.

I understand why a lot of people like to shame the 98 remake, but for me it was a movie that introduced me to the Godzilla franchise. Yes when I look back on it, it was more like a Jurassic Park film than a Godzilla movie. But on the plus side it gave us a really awesome cartoon series

(While Godzilla is being beaten down, a certain person around the corner.) Phil Swift: THAT'S A LOT OF DAMAGE!!!!!!!!!

The Oxygen Destroyer being in KOTM was one of the dumbest things about that movie. Imagine taking this weapon that's been one of the most important bits of Godzilla lore for 60 years, and turning into a lousy damn missile that not only doesn't have the same effect on Godzilla as it did before, or no effect at all on King Ghidorah, but fails to even kill anything. That moment made me angry as a Godzilla fan.

Nice to see Big G getting his own top ten once in awhile. Although honestly I don’t consider Godzilla talking that much of an annoyance. You give me Big G being a bad ass king and I’ll take anything.

One of the future entries that i hope get added is (assuming if if you guys make a part 2), is having his 3rd American film (KOTM) get treated the way critics should not treat a film, having his own fandom get divided (which probably wouldve happened anyway, but i still don't want to admit that cause the franchise has ALWAYS been science fiction, wether dark/gritty, or silly/campy,) and having more wars of words, and no luckily they are not bringing back the fat-shaming arguments, instead its......*worrying look* its about the direction the MonsterVerse is going. Yes, they keep giving out very pointless realism complaints, the cutaways to the humans keep getting involved, the characters themselves keep getting shamed by people, which led to an increase of fans saying "Human characters should not matter in Godzilla films", and lots of other things that happened to the fandom and community after the film made less than $400 million. Why it is sometimes not a good month to be a Gfan?

KOTM's underperformance was due to bad marketing and release date , it is mostly Warner Bros's mistake , For the critic score , It definitely didn't deserve a score that low , I Would've at least given it a solid 65% , but what you mean "(KOTM) got treated the way critics should not treat a film" ? I Believe they were just criticizing aspects of the film that they didn't think it was good , like the human characters not being particularly memorable and well written , even though 2014 didn't have any memorable or well written characters either yet they gave it 75% , for some reason even though the action and the pacing of KOTM beats 2014 by a mile but oh well. American Godzilla movies always tend to be divisive , That perfect Godzilla film that pleases everyone is yet to be made , but i am still happy with what we got , I Enjoyed KOTM and i am looking forward to GVK
