Godzilla vs. Kong 2021 can only be #1 as WatchMojo did here. Understand that I got into both titans since that 1962 film back in the late 80s when they used to show it on local TV. KTTV Channel 5 here in SoCal. The 2021 update was a dream come true finally watching Godzilla and Kong fight and with no actors in a rubber suit. And they fought twice in 2021 and each one was epic. They obviously had to scale Kong up because the OG from 1933 is only 103 feet. The 1954 Godzilla was about 165 feet. The 2021 one had a near 60 foot difference with Godzilla growing close to 40 feet since 2014. Kong was never that tall even in the 2005 Peter Jackson one. I remember asking my friend in Hawaii back in 1988, who would win between Godzilla or King Kong? He answered the Big G. I've always been equally partial to both but Godzilla is really the strongest of all kaijus. Kong was only ranked 4th strongest but I believe he has a puncher's chance because he has human traits like hands that can swing a battle axe and feet that can be used as hands to hang on things. Godzilla could burn Kong into crisp and he would have the advantage from long range. But Kong is nimble. He can shield himself. He can get Godzilla in a headlock while Godzilla doesn't have long enough arms and big enough hands to do any of that. Godzilla most likely wins like he did in the 2021 film like 8 out of 10 times but Kong wouldn't be a joke to Godzilla. King Ghidorah doesn't really have arms to grab Godzilla like Kong could. If only Godzilla can roll like Sonic the Hedgehog, then all bets are off. 🦔 The 2021 film is not a particularly good film. All the human characters are forgettable and a waste of time to care about. But GvK for unforgettable fight scenes, it's No. 1 in my book. My favorite Godzilla and King Kong movie of all-time. Well, until I see Minus One tomorrow. As a kid only thing I cared about was Godzilla and fighting. And this movie by all means isn’t perfect….but it brought great joy to my inner child.

I love Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019). The human story was a bit confusing, but the fights were great. In addition to Mothra, Rodan, and King Ghidorah being in the film, the soundtrack by Bear McCreary was perfect. Not only did he include the classic themes for Godzilla and Mothra, he also made a cover of the Blue Oyster Cult song, “Godzilla” sung by Serj Tankian.

2014 Godzilla is a loooooooooong buildup, but the moment where he mainlines his atomic breath down the last MUTO’s throat is so worth it

Even though so many people hated it, I love King of the Monsters to death. I remember seeing it in theaters, and my God I about lost my mind. The visuals were incredible, and just the fact that they brought all the classics monsters into a modern film was amazing to see. Out of the four MonsterVerse movies, KOTM is definitely my sentimental favorite.

I agree, his final fight against Ghidorah is still my favorite just because it was so epic and personal. That combined with the Serizawa plot almost brought a tear to my eye. I felt a flashback of like all the history of Godzilla in that one moment where he detonates the nuke to power up Godzilla. It was still the most emotionally moving experience I have ever felt during a Kaiju film.

Can't believe they didn't mention GMK Monsters all out attack. Godzilla literally took on Mothra and Ghidorah and won.

A Godzilla Fight is the Best things to watch in his Franchise, Solo or Crossover. It gonna be huge. Plus, I’ll looking forward for Godzilla x Kong:A New Empire. Next Year.

Godzilla's fight against Orga in Godzilla 2000 is one of my favorite Godzilla fights. I remember seeing Orga coming out of the fire after Godzilla blasted him with his atomic breath, and watching that as a kid on VHS was one of the scariest and creepiest moments I had ever seen in a Godzilla film.

I finally got a Hiya Godzilla figure yesterday. It's the KOTM G19 one but I'm not sure if it's updated one because the box says 2023. It's definitely a 9/10 toy for me. And I thought I would hate the beige/copper color in the KOTM one that the GvK lacks but it's totally fine. This was basically a two week process. I first messaged the OfferUp seller back in Nov 22. I was still reluctant because I'm not the biggest fan of the Legendary design. But I've been urging to get a Godzilla figure before Minus One came out. Then I messaged the seller again the other day offering him only $30 as he listed it at $60 first and then $40, but then he said it was already reserved for another buyer. So I didn't think much of it afterwards. Then he messages me yesterday morning at 9:17 AM and offered $35 and I went, sure. Rowland Heights is also not far from me. Many OfferUp deals has me going to places that's at least 25-30 miles. This is the first Godzilla toy I got since the 1985 Imperial one I got around 1995 at Toys R Us for $10. That Imperial one is the same one you see in episodes of Roseanne. He's green, silver chest and dorsal plates, and red lipstick 💄. Not accurate but that's the only Godzilla toy I owned before this Hiya KOTM. In fairness to that Imperial Godzilla toy, I had that thing for years. I remember I would place it on top of my TV while I played Super Nintendo games. I probably had it for a good decade. I don't remember what happened to it. The beauty of Godzilla for me comes from the dorsal spine/scales/plates. The head is bigger on G14 but I prefer the scales on G19 and G21. Yeah, his head looks smaller because he got bigger, but I prefer his scales and G19 went back to the Showa 60s roar which I greatly prefer as King Kong vs. Godzilla (1962) is the first Godzilla movie I've ever seen back in 1987 or 1988. G14 is him awakening but he's in his weakest state. One thing I love about Godzilla toys is it can stand on its own thanks to the tail. The feet doesn't need to be completely flat. This is not the case with human action figures or ones with Kong because they lack a tail. Godzilla's dorsal spine is the most important feature for me. I equally love Godzilla and Kong. I think Kong's movies have more emotional weight with always a bittersweet ending to him but Godzilla is better at selling toys because of his more interesting designs these last 69 years. Most kaiju movies are 90 minute commercials to sell plastic, giant lizard/standing stegosaurus toys to guys. I do understand some people not liking the new Minus One design because it does have that man in a suit design. While Legendary's looks more realistic and better proportioned. Since getting this Hiya toy, the Legendary design is finally growing on me. KOTM19 is also when Godzilla kicked ass the most. G21 got tired after beating Kong that he needed Kong to be revived to help kill Mechagodzilla. GvK felt more like a Kong movie while KOTM felt more like a Godzilla movie from the 60s and 70s. Again, I got this Hiya G19 for only $35. My birthday was the other day, so this is a nice gift to myself. They do sell it for $50 but there are markups online like for every Godzilla toy. It's in perfect condition but the box was opened already. It was either this or the Bandai Minus One but I'm glad I went with Hiya. It's more articulate. The Bandai one is $34 off eBay, it's smaller, it's only in gray with no paint on it, but shipping is $25. F that. I'll end up spending close to $70 for a Bandai one with taxes when I only got this Hiya one for half the price and every dollar savings helps big time these days. I've seen some Bandai ones getting marked up to $100 or more. I haven't even seen Minus One yet. And if I wanted the Hiya GvK 2023 revision, that's still $50+ and I'd have to wait until January. KOTM is the best choice for the price and getting it ASAP. I'm happy with my purchase. I'm not much of a toy collector at all. I'm not even a diehard Godzilla/kaiju fan. I liked him since I was 7 but most kaiju films are generally the same movies. I'm hoping Hiya makes a Minus One Godzilla and I do not mind if he's only half the size of this KOTM Hiya one so it will be closer to scale. KOTM is close to 400 feet. The Hiya is 7". I don't mind a 3.5" Minus One by Hiya. Splash a little brown on it and put the same details to the skin's texture like they did to the MonsterVerse ones. I did notice one slight imperfection on mine I didn't notice until last night. When looking directly at my Hiya figure, there is a tiny right gap behind Godzilla's head. I tried rotating it but it's still there. It actually got bigger when rotating it a certain direction. Then I looked at videos on KZread but they didn't have the same flaw. It's the rotating part after the head. I believe it's swappable like the head it is. If it bothers me too much, I'll sell mine and get the GvK V2. But it doesn't bother me. You can only see the flaw if you looked straight at it but I usually have Godzilla angled so I can see his dorsal spine. I'll try to watch Minus One this week. I'm still finishing up on Heels S2 and saw parts of Flower Moon again last night after finally watching that GotG Holiday Special from over a year ago. I've been watching a lot of other stuff that I don't have time to go to the theater. The recently canceled Heels is fantastic, btw. I like it more than Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. But since getting this Hiya toy, I may end up liking Monarch more and more since Hiya has done a fantastic job on their MonsterVerse Godzillas and they don't break the bank. MonsterVerse or any Godzilla/Kong/kaiju lore are a lot deeper than it looks. Skar King and Shimu are interesting to read about. NGL, I'm not the biggest fan on how Godzilla looks in this. Not feeling the pink. But Kong looks a little better to me with his silver back and looking like he's a Viking. Skar King has mad swag on how he's sitting down on that throne. He looks like a mix of King Louie in that live action Jungle Book from 2016 being a large orangutan but with the deranged face of Koba from Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014). I would love to see scenes of Shimu freezing King Ghidorah, Godzilla, and being responsible for the Ice Age.

Godzilla vs. humanity in OG Godzilla, Shin Godzilla and Godzilla Minus One are the best. This is a good “Godzilla vs. monster” list though. I’m excited for the next Legendary Godzilla film! Hoping the fights are as good as the rest of the monsterverse fights have been!

King Kong vs Godzilla (1962)🦍🌴🦖 has one of my favourite kaiju battle in the franchise. Kong shoving a tree in Godzilla's mouth is an iconic scene 😊 (Top #1 in my list btw)

Always liked the Biollante fight, sadly she is only ever seen in 1 movie and a few comics, but in her debut she did technically kill Godzilla, only for him to revive because of plot.

Oh I do love when Godzilla Take The King Ghidorah in 2019.

I realized today that it's been over 19 years since we've had a Japanese live action Godzilla movie where Godzilla fights other monster.

Yeah, right. You left out a great fight with the ultimate underdog. The fight between Godzilla and Baragon in "Godzilla, Mothra, and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack" should be on the list instead of Space Godzilla. For me this is the best of the latter period (pre-Shin Godzilla anyway) G films. Directed by Shusuke Kaneko who also directed the 90's Gamera trilogy, this features a really evil and malicious Godzilla. Baragon is overmatched but full of fighting spirit, and the fight is well-choreographed. You really end up feeling for the poor guy.

Ghidorah is absolutely the arch-enemy of Zilla. & Zilla vs King Ghidorah had the Best fight scenes. It was brutal. 2nd was Zilla vs Kong.

The effects in that one did not age well. Say what you will about modern CGI, but sometimes practical effects are much worse.

Never laughed so hard as when I saw him doing the drop kick. Only thing close is when he flew backwards against the Smog monster. Turning himself into a magnetic force against MechaGodzilla was hilarious also

They need to give the Legendary version of Godzilla the same atomic bomb breadth attack like the one that Minus One version had.

King ghidorah (except the GMK version and 1991 version) and Mecha G will always be the strongest opponents of Godzilla. Mojo missed Mecha godzilla (1993) he beat Godzilla but Rodan helped Godzilla at the end. Space Godzilla and Destoroyah were also strong opponents, they need to appear in a future movie (legendary or Toho movie) just like Biollante but without the dna of the woman, just half plant half godzilla.

I love the CG stuff, it truly is amazing, and seeing the monsters move like real animals was something I always dreamed of, but man, I’ll never not love the old practical effects, they have a charm for me that can’t be topped. Especially knowing all the effort that went into making costumes, sets and the pyrotechnics. It really taps into my love for model-building.

Day one Godzilla fans know that "Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla" ('74) will always be #1. It has good music as well. Other films that are better than half on this list: --> vs. Megalon, vs. King Ghidorah ('91), vs. Gigan, vs. King Kong ('62/'63), vs. Mechagodzilla II

Love Godzilla vs Megalon. Him and Jet Jaguar team up to take on him and Gigan.

i wont lie i kind preferred the battle between godzilla and king gidorah from 2019 over godzilla vs kong.. Probably because Gidorah is just so massively bad ass and godzilla had to give it all he could whereas i didn't feel as hyped up about kong fighting godzilla on an aircraft carrier. plus the battle withe mechagodzilla was just too short.
