He's a revolting monstrosity that shouldn't be alive. They made Godzilla into a walking nuclear holocaust again, and that's why I love it.

Bryan Kruse su. The ending of Godzilla vs Destroyah is very epic. The movie is basically a kaiju version of The Lion King as, like Mufasa, Godzilla's reign had ended with his demise leading to Godzilla Jr., like Simba, taking over his father's mantle as King of the Monsters.

@@heretopissyouoff8439 all those actions you said were done by godzilla in the previous century, most of them in the seventies when the films were wacky, they made shin in 2016, people would expect him to be more realistic and reasonable, especially after the 2014 one who was very very cool while being realistic with the iconic atomic breath, shin had atomic all over his body, he seems like a full destruction war suit from the military equiped with an atomic breath that has 3 stages and 20 back lazers coming out of him and a huge beam coming out of his tail

A bit disappointed the 'Who Will Know?' sequence from Shin Godzilla wasn't featured, at least in an honorable mention.

I see it as less of a Godzilla movie and more of a remake of Ray Harryhausen's 1953 classic, The Beast from 20 000 Fathoms. Comparing the two side-by-side, the similarities are almost uncanny. It's like someone was trying to do a remake of the Harryhausen movie and they just slapped the Godzilla name on it for marketing value. It's still fun to watch from time to time, especially if you just want to turn off your brain and watch something with friends.

I think the Godzilla and Kong fight scene on the mountain in King Kong vs Godzilla was a pretty damn good scene especially when Kong shoved a tree down Godzilla’s throat sad it wasn’t on the list hope Kong does it again in 2020

In the 2014 movie, when Godzilla first appears and stomps down in front of the window, there is a very noticeable hush among the people watching that is just amazing

@@kevonseymourks2790 Well, they named it such because it was originally intended to be the, at the time, official American version of Godzilla. So there's nothing really "dumb" about it. THAT is what that Kaiju was originally intended to be, and that's why he was called such. It's the *Godzilla fan base* as a whole that thought otherwise.

Shin Godzilla using his atomic breath for the first time should've at least been an honorable mention here. It's one of the most epic moments in the entire Godzilla franchise next to the 1954 classic Tokyo attack sequence (which definitely deserves the #1 Spot so kudos to whoever made this list for at least doing that).

Most impressive godzilla moment? Godzilla VS king ghidorah. In a last ditch effort, ghidorah strangles godzilla to where he starts foaming from the mouth. But godzilla powers up, and blasts ghidorahs middle head off. Amazing!

Ishiro Honda and his ToHo pals were definitely smoking something during the Showa era.

The 1954 original, a classic masterpiece. The 1998 film still gets shit on and mocked to death to this day still. The 1998 film is one of my all-time favorites and one of the most underrated. I'll defend that film forever.

Toho didn't even *try* to hide its distaste for Zilla, like damn, that shade is next level loll xD Great list! Although, I wouldn't necessarily say "No sequence in the franchise captures [the lingering scars of WWII] better than Godzilla's first attack on Tokyo in the original film".. I thought Shin Godzilla managed to do this pretty well too, especially as it came so soon after the devastating tsumanis.. It really felt like it echoed the original even more because of this..

The thing is, I get why hardcore fans seem to hate the 1998 Godzilla. On it's own though, and taken for what it is, it's actually a fun, entertaining, popcorn movie.

coolnegative I agree. And actually, the hate toward 1998 and Zilla *has* lessened some. Nowadays, Zilla's mostly regarded as another stand-alone monster amongst Toho's whole Kaiju roster, and the film itself as another chapter in Godzilla's long, continuing history.

Andrew Haase Technically Planet X but the dancing is iconic.

Godzilla(the 1954 one anyway) is one of the most shocking stories l seen in film history, not only is it scary but it teaches a good lesson about population

It's been over 25 years since I first saw Godzilla vs Megalon and that slide is still danged funny. Jet Jaguar was my screen name in my first internet fandom back on Prodigy because that was my favorite MST3K episode.

I don't see the 2014 fire down the neck scene! That was truly amazing!
