Yeah that was some crazy Super Saiyan shit right there. What I love about these movies is that they're not afraid to be dumb and ridiculous like the old ones but they still manage to be serious and have tension. Sometimes there's not enough action but the spectacle, good God. Any time Ghidorah was firing lightning in KoM I felt like a little boy.

mrcheesemunch Technically! It’s not Super Saiyan. It’s Musou Tensei (Unconscious Transfiguration) from Hokuto no Ken (Fist of the North Star). Going into Super Saiyan doesn’t require a soul sacrifice. I mean, have you ever seen Son Goku or Vegeta sacrificing an individual to undergo a power-up? Well, do you? Musou Tensei fits the description of Legendary Godzilla’s power-up. Musou Tensei is a power-up that’s made of fallen spiritual entities and their powers, skills, & techniques. Or in the Monsterverse case, powered-up that’s a combination of the thermonuclear warhead and Mothra’s spiritual energy.

@@whathell6t Well I was meaning generically in terms of anime powerups but if you wanna battle I'm game! Actually is more like Yamamoto's Bankai, Zanka no Tachi from Bleach where his blade radiates heat as, hot as the surface of the sun (1.5 million degrees is the most common translation I've seen tho) slowly melting everything around him for many many miles. Alternatively it's also like Yusuke releasing his Spirit Cuffs in Yu Yu Hakusho, after Genkai boosts him with the last of her power that he fully unlocks later after his friend "dies"

People didn’t appreciate King of Monsters as they should have.

I am not going to lie. I went to a special day before official release party screening of Godzilla KOTM and I 1000% teared up at moment #2. When Godzilla re-emerged with his eyes and crest glowing and that classic triumphant Godzilla theme kicked into full volume the theater went *ABSOLUTELY NUTS* . Everyone was crying or cheering or whooping or clapping (which the theater explicitly allowed because it was a special event) and I screamed "KICK HIS ASS GODZILLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!" at the top of my lungs and the theater broke out in a chorus of "LONG LIVE THE KING! LONG LIVE THE KING!". I have never before been so hyped for a movie moment like that. That was nothing short of magic.

I swear the movie better show Kong stuffing the tree down Godzilla's throat like the original K vs G movie!

Godzilla and the military marching into Boston. All those missiles slamming into Ghidorah...it showed that humanity was capable of getting a few hits in. Truly glorious. But then, it's clearly a great movie when you can't decide which moment is your favorite.

#2 is my absolute favorite of all. That scene sums up everything the love from the film makers and composer they have for Godzilla.

Screw everything! I'm going to rewatch Godzilla: King of the Monsters!

Godzilla arriving at the airport should’ve been number one, it’s just so perfectly shot and set up

The alpha roar should've definitely been waayyyy higher on the list. Not only did it truly establish ghidorah as the villian and rival to godzilla he truly is. But, it was so blood curdling, and so evil and the imagery while he roared was flawless. It was definitely one of the best moments in the film
