probably because its harder to aim with a more powerful atomic breath, and now, most of the new characters are fast/agile compared to Godzilla, so its even more difficult for him to land his atomic breaths

For any stoopid heads out there, legacy of monsters came out in 2023 but takes place in 2015, like how king skull island takes place in the 1970s but came out in 2017. Also fun fact: Godzilla vs Kong takes place this year which is pretty cool

It’s not a movie, it’s a show named Monarch Legacy of Monsters. The setting does take place in 2015, however the show itself was released last year of November
