LYRICS
Did you think I'd leave you there
Did you think I'd never keep my promise to
It's easy when I'm lyin' there with you
And every night I dream of you
And every night I promise to hold on to
The dream I'll one day wake up next to you
Did you know you left me there
Starin' at the heartache in my soul
As I fell to pieces
And to the one you're leavin' for
There's only one thing I want you to know
Is that I have found my peace here
I only ever wanted you
Did you think I'd walk away
Did you think I'd break my promise, not today
It's easy when I'm standin' there with you
Yet every day away from you
Is another day I break my promise to hold on
Cause holdin' on is harder than I knew
(Cause holdin' on is harder than I knew)
Did you know I left you there
Starin' at the heartache in your soul
As your heart fell to pieces
And to the world you're leavin' for
There's only one thing I think you should know
Is that now, you can rest in peace, dear
I only ever wanted you to stay
I only ever needed you
I only ever wanted you to stay
I only ever needed you
(I only ever needed you)
Did you know I left you there
Starin' at the heartache in your soul
As your heart fell to pieces
And to the world you're leavin' for
There's only one thing I want you to know
Is that now, you can rest in peace, dear

Anyone talking shit. I’m going to your channel and looking for your music that is better.
Ive listened to it many times now and discussed it... and constructive criticism would be that the song builds too slow for too long. You can feel the build to that last bridge, but it takes so long that youre not sure it will happen. Then once it hits, youre all in and what feels like 5 seconds later, its over. Still thoroughly enjoy it though. Great start. Cant wait to hear the ones coming down the pike

I've seen this comment in a couple places but I have a slightly different take. I think it's actually slightly rushed at the beginning. If you play the first verse on .75 and then go to normal speed for the rest I feel like it's close to what I'd prefer. The gentle feel just needs time to breath and by speeding up on the second verse you would clue in to the idea that you were building to something.

As a 39 year old man I must say this style of music brings me back to my college days! Looking forward to seeing more of what you're putting together. 😎👊🔥 A few days ago I remember Tim saying on Timcast that the song in part has a "pop" sound. IMHO it sounds more like what was called an "alternative" sound back in the day anyway. Which is somewhat similar to rock music in part. I personally wouldn't classify it as pop in any capacity. Beyond that, obviously very well produced, nothing short of 100% professional on that front. Drums like WHOA. Once the song really hits (you know the part) you just want it to keep going. I like Tim's mission of building culture. Creating art and entertainment is a huge part of that, and I hope the empire continues to expand! I'm confident it will. Wishing Tim and his team the best!

This song makes me think of my mother. I saw her for the last time when I was 14 after a stupid argument. She died in a hurricane before I could apologize and I carried that for a long time. When I became a mom I realized she forgave me long before we ever argued; I was being a typical, hormonal, teenage brat, nothing more. She knew how much she really meant to me. At 46, a day doesn't go by without thinking of her still but, since forgiving myself, I can think of the good times and important lesson she taught me instead of fixating on my guilt. And, my daughter was every bit as mouthy as I was so, karma 😉 she did grow out of it and would make her grandmother very, very proud. Damn Good Song!
