This one person's been aiming with different Tim Pool lyrics and I'm going to read Tim Pool's lyricist. As your heart fell to pieces and to the world you're leaving. for there's only one thing I think you should know. Is that now you can rest in peace dear? That's really his lyrics. Did you not listen to the music video? Oh yes, we did. I missed it when it first came out. I was asked to do it. I think Kowalski called in on Tuesday to ask if he did not ask me about it. And I'd like to listen to a little bit of it. And my biggest complaint was a tweet he put out like a couple days after where he was talking about the success of the song. Like whatever is okay. But he said how people have his song successes makes it clear that people are still hungering for good emo music and not corporate mainstream drivel or whatever. It's like and this is where I'm a stickler. and that is correctly connecting a song to the correct subgenre of music. He did not make an emo song. Is it new metal? radio rock. He made radio rock. If you like that style of music that's great, it's on the radio all the time because it is the most corporatized type of rock music you could make. Which makes his tweet even funnier. But the part that got me was he called it emo. It is not emo. It doesn't sound emo musically. It doesn't sound like emo vocally. Please go listen to some real emo music like Texas is the reason, right of spring, early saves the day, and get an idea of what real emo music is, please. It sounds like it sounds like Daughtry. yeah yeah or Nickelback that's what people were saying.

Brandon made a great point by comparing it to the average Eurovision song - the key is that Eurovision songs are typically written in a language that the lyricist doesn't speak fluently and so doesn't know what the words mean or how to coherently string them together.

I think it's still called that. It's still weirdly popular too, but only amongst conservatives. The worst parts of Nü Metal and Buttrock still lives strong in the conservative sphere. As sad as it is intriguing. I used to be a huge Nü Metal fan back in the day, it's always super weird seeing it still going on. But the funniest part is how these guys are drawn to Rage Against The Machine due to all these Nü Metal bands essentially spawning due to being influenced by bands like RATM and KORN etc. Conservative MAGA idiots just dancing and singing along to Rage songs will never get old. It's worth keeping Butt Rock alive just to have that spectacle unfold on the regular.

That's the thing, if it was an actual band, he wouldn't be the singer/songwriter in it lol. He doesn't even play on his own recordings, he just uses the money he's made as a professional liar to hire a bunch of pros who will play and produce the music while he gets to sing his derivative, unoriginal songs in his thin, unremarkable voice. If you look at the credits to "Will of the People", it's a completely different set of musicians to his latest song, even though they were released within two years of each other. ""Real Emo" only consists of the dc Emotional Hardcore scene and the late 90's Screamo scene. What is known by "Midwest Emo" is nothing but Alternative Rock with questionable real emo influence. When people try to argue that bands like My Chemical Romance are not real emo, while saying that Sunny Day Real Estate is, I can't help not to cringe because they are just as fake emo as My Chemical Romance (plus the pretentiousness). Real emo sounds ENERGETIC, POWERFUL and somewhat HATEFUL. Fake emo is weak, self pity and a failed attempt to direct energy and emotion into music. Some examples of REAL EMO are Pg 99, Rites of Spring, Cap n Jazz (the only real emo band from the midwest scene) and Loma Prieta. Some examples of FAKE EMO are American Football, My Chemical Romance and Mineral EMO BELONGS TO HARDCORE NOT TO INDIE, POP PUNK, ALT ROCK OR ANY OTHER MAINSTREAM GENRE" Matt Binder

That's the point, Tim Pool likes to act like he isn't a Republican/Conservative, which he is, so they make a bunch of video's criticizing him and pointing out that he is actually a conservative. They did the same with Dave Rubin, when he was claiming to be a leftist, they simply are trying to act like leftists so they can act like a funnel for right wing ideology. They have publicly admitted that they specifically made sure to call out conservatives acting like they are supposedly leftists, so when somebody googles Dave Rubin or Tim Pool, there are hundreds of videos that call them out on their bullshit. It's actually really funny, and I wouldn't call it obsession, I would lean more towards calling it stopping indoctrination, but maybe that is just me.

What makes Tim’s music bad at first glance is that it’s really got nothing new to bring…very much just the same old thing and inherently makes it a vanity project, it’s really just okay, and that makes it kind of crap. What makes it even worse at second glance is when you input the context of who Tim pool is and what the goals of this band are, it’s entirely vapid. It’s a vanity project with no actual concept behind it, and that’s why it’s so just meh. It’s only okay because it’s not FOR art, it’s completely for Tim to be like “yeah I’m in a band” and that’s what makes it atrocious

Vanity project? Are you implying he got bored after watching all the Marvel movies for the 100th time and playing with his ninja swords that he just decided to make shitty music? I'll have you know he still does those things, just not as much.

@@MyName-cw4yr I mean yes and no. It’s not about creating entirely new genres or being absolutely 100% uninfluenced, all art is influenced by something else of course. All chord progressions and Melodies that could ever have existed have already been created, yes. But it’s what people do with those things creatively that make them new and fresh again. It’s not just about the technicality, sometimes it’s about a new vibe or a new energy, a new sound design or sonic quality, experimenting with different processes when composing, writing lyrically in interesting ways, etc. One example off the top of my head was SOPHIE (Rip). She created entire new sounds out of her own custom wavelengths and there was nothing like it. Or Bon Iver and James Blake taking well established genres and bending them in different ways, maybe just from the way it was recorded, or the meshing of other genres that wouldn’t have seemed to flow with one another. Bon Iver records vis a vis a really unique preamp that is very old and rare which gives him his signature vocal. James Blake is a jazz nerd that turned jazzy rnb into like really weird electronic music and makes insanely weird chord structures. Burial created an entire Grammy award winning album that spawned UK garage by making it on Audacity which allowed the drums to have a really weird swing on them that was really revolutionary. This is just western music. Broaden your horizons, or take some time to learn about how things are made and that’s how you can see uniqueness in things once more

To everyone who attacked myself and others for pointing out Pool's atrocious abuse of autotune to correct minor pitch errors across the entirety of his new song, notice how there is no autotune on this OLDER song, and that the effect I pointed to in the new one is nowhere to be found in his vocals on this older one. You may now apologize.

The antifascists turned into the real fascists type shit. Don't know if there's another twist in the third verse. Could not stomach past the chorus for a second time.

I can go on and on as a 1990s kid... How about Silverstein, all the mighty, oceans ate Alaska, Dayseeker, Dance Gavin dance, Movements, Nerv, Emarosa
