LYRICS
The longest night I remember
The fall of 85
You called me from your mother's house
And you said goodbye
I cried into the wind
(Cried into the wind)
I lost that mystic harmony
When I lost my only friend
(When I lost my only friend)
I cried into the wind
(Cried into the wind)
I lost that mystic harmony
When I lost my only friend
I’ve been alone for so long this time
I’m growing stronger with you
I’ve been alone for so long this time
I’m growing stronger with you
(This time)
The deepest lows
The lowest highs
The blackest days
And the bluest nights, yeah
Ain’t no storm we can’t weather my friend
If we just come together again
Working girls on summer set did their best to keep me alive
(Come back anytime)
Asked a friend where you were at
She said, "Learn to thrive"
(Learn to thrive)
I drank the cup of sin
I gave my soul to the queen of the east and I searched for you
I searched for you again
(Drank the cup of sin)
I drank the cup of sin
I gave my soul to the queen of the east and I searched for you
I searched for you again
I’ve been alone for so long this time
(This time)
I’m growing stronger with you
I’ve been alone for so long this time
I’m growing stronger with you
The deepest lows
The lowest highs
The blackest days
And the bluest nights, yeah
Ain’t no storm we can’t weather my friends
If we just come together again
Ain’t no storm
Ain’t no storm
Ain’t no storm we can’t weather
If we just come
If we just come
If we just come together
Ain’t no storm
Ain’t no storm
Ain’t no storm we can’t weather
(Ain’t no storm)
If we just come
If we just come
If we just come together
(Hey!)
I’ve been alone for so long
(So long)
I’m growing stronger with you
The deepest lows
The lowest highs
The blackest days
The bluest nights
I’ve been alone for so long
(This time)
I’m growing stronger with you
The deepest lows
The lowest highs
The blackest days
The bluest nights
Ain’t no storm we can’t weather, my friend
If we just come together again
The deepest lows
The lowest highs
The blackest days
And the bluest nights

Dang, I remember my grandparents telling me where they were when the original released back in the 60s. I’m certain I’ll remember where I was when this version released. Amazing!

@@absurdbird3556 you have a sad life. Our town had a midnight showing on the release. The mayor declared a holiday and maypoles were positioned around a big screen tv with dancers in traditional Dutch clogging garb were braiding around those poles while we awaited the premiere. The moment was amazing, only interrupted by my alarm clock as I slept through the release.

@@thepelch7285 Maybe that's why his voice sounds flat every time he attempts the most modest vibrato. Or he can't sing.
