I feel like this is all based on Strength of Schedule. LSU's strength of schedule was worse than OSU until they beat Georgia. I still think it's unacceptable that the SEC gets an extra cupcake in November, however.

Well said Sully. The fact that they dropped Ohio State down to two is proof that the playoff committee doesn't know what they are talking about. The committee should not meet until after championship Saturday. Then they can bring in their "strength of schedule" or "eyeball test" criteria after the conference champions have been named. OSU non conference opponents all played for their conference title games. 2 of them won their conference. Saying that, fuck it. Go Bucks!

Ultimately this argument doesn't matter a lot. Sure, LSU gets a boost by being in Atlanta, but OSU fans would travel to Alaska to watch the Buckeyes. There'll be PLENTY of support in Phoenix. We have four solid teams, two of them GREAT, all conference champs, ready to go. Even if the committee gets wonky at times, it's better than the BCS was.

Why is the Big 10 weak, but the SEC is a powerhouse? I didn't know losing to a 4-8 team and barely beating Notre Dame makes you a great team. To me the Big 10 and SEC are equal this year

The Big Ten is much, much stronger than the SEC right now, and has been for the last three years. The SEC is LSU. Alabama, and twelve shitty teams. Georgia??? Shouldn't even be ranked in the top ten. Georgia is the Michigan of the SEC. Always overrated.

case in point...LAST year in the SEC championship game, Alabama was DOWN to Georgia into the third quarter 28-14, until barely winning by 7....Alabama STAYED number one over Clemson, who we know eventually BLEW out Alabama......The committee has zero consistency, but they have ZERO rules, but last year compared to this year showed the EXACT point differential in the first half between Alabama and Ohio State of a championship game, and one team dropped, while the other team didn't and was hailed....total b.s.

Curious why Mike doesn't want Playoff expansion, other than it prevents Michigan from making the playoffs while OSU dominates the Big Ten. Arguments will never cease with any 4, 8,16, 32, 64 team format in a Playoff. Valenti is fully happy with a 64 team tournament in basketball that allows his team a chance every year. He literally doesn't what an 8 team playoff because it fucks over Michigan. LSU can lose to Alabama and still make the cut, and visa versa, not the same in the Big Ten. He knows his team is trash and will do everything in his ability to make Ann Arbor cry. Mike wants to play the NY media card and be negative with everything, but he has a complete and inarguable hatred for Michigan success. May stem from his team losing 6 years in a row during the early 2000's. Then now continuing in the late teens and early twenties. He sees the writing on the wall, his team is cooked. His only pleasure in life is making Michigan fans whine, what a loathsome existence. He knows MSU will never sniff the playoff system, no matter the amount of teams, ever again and he wants to safeguard it against Michigan fandom.

Not really. OSU played a criminally weak schedule against overrated and over ranked teams. LSU blew out Georgia end of story. LSU had 2 top 5 opponents to 0 for OSU. Get over it

While sec has produced more titles conference play has been poor. It's never 3 legitimate good teams at a time. Big ten have 5-6 teams beating the snot out if each other. It amazes me how people have flipped on OSU because of 1 bad half which was not a total catastrophe. It's not like we barely won.

OSU is the best team in the country from a talent standpoint. LSU is almost as good. I hope they play each other in the finals. It should be a good playoffs.

What power ful team did lsu beat outside of the sec this year? Same with Ohio state same with Clemson? Does it matter who is number 1 beat your paired opponent. Right now Oklahoma beat the grade for the one loss team. Oklahoma could probably beat any of those three and im going tell you why. The only team with a defense that could slow em up is Ohio state. Wisconsin was the only team to make them fall behind but Ohio states defense kept them in and the offense wore em down. LSU almost collapsed to Alabama. Georgia is not that great they're lucky they beat ND they were beaten by an unranked South Carolina at home. LSU had that one easy . I bet you Oklahoma makes a a great bid to be in the game and challenge the winner of Ohio state and Clemson. I think it will be Clemson. The Big Ten is weak . Ohio state played no one this year. The only teams to give them any game in first half was Michigan and Wisconsin. No non conference game easy cupcake walk to the playoff

Cardale Jones in 2014 for OSU. Tua Tagovailoa in 2017 for BAMA. Here's my point.....and it boggles my mind...….Knowing that those two teams WERE BETTER once the RIGHT PLAYERS were in the game, instead of sitting on the bench.....and the ELITE COACHES had missed it or wouldn't acknowledge it......begs the question.....How many teams out there really are good ? Or great ? Or even elite => but their COACHES aren't playing the right players.....in the right system (Joe Burrow finally is now)…….and how much of a difference would that make to the quality of FBS football ? Because if SABAN and MEYER are MORONS (and they are)…..how much worse is it for the rest of the FBS teams ?
