This is really good. My question is: How do you go about forgiving when you continue to have ongoing contact with people who have abused you, and they keep triggering old wounds? Also, how can people who don't have the financial resources to get the therapy they need ever really heal?

I'd like to share some thoughts. This conversation was enlightening. Grief is a funny thing. As I was watching this one friendship came to mind almost from the start. I realize that some of the anxiety I have been feeling recently is that I haven't greived that relationship. It is interesting to see that some of my current behavior stems from not wanting to be like that person.🤔 Not healthy either... Hope. I have never been a person with hope, joy yes...but hope has always been harder for me. I'm more of a "waiting for the other shoe to drop" kind of person. But in the past month, the Holy Spirit has been bringing this word to mind a lot. I feel like He wants to see that hope is important. And that if I want to be more emotionally healthy, that needs to be a bigger part of my life. Change is not easy. I believe that God is good... and that often He asks me to do things that feel hard.😅 As your guest was talking about hope, I was struck by how like faith and love it's a verb. It's something that I can choose to have more of in my life. Thanks for sharing this.❤
