The TERRIFYING Last Moments of Legendary Climber Dan Osman
Ойын-сауық
A 35-year-old rock climber that many would describe as insane, Dan Osman was like a real-life spiderman. He would scale terrifying heights with nothing but a bit of chalk, the clothes on his back, and a grip as strong as his willpower.
Dan was a legend in the world of rock climbing, and he still holds records for being the fastest free climber, until a freak accident took his life unexpectedly.
In an ironic twist of fate, it wasn’t even free soloing that brought him to his last terrifying moments.
This is his legendary story.

DANO IS A LEGEND....There are some aspects of this that are not fully accurate. I dont know why Dan jumped the day he died. He should have known better...he broke his own rules for safe "rope free falling" -- I wish Miles could have stopped him. But it was not meant to be. Glad to had met him and captured some of the images shown. He was a JEDI and he produced a beautiful daughter. RIP DANO....you will never be forgotten.
I have the unique perspective of having nearly lost my life in two separate skydiving accidents back in my early 40s. I'm now 67. I remember having no fear whatsoever when the cords of my main chute tangled around my right leg, and when I watched the reserve parachute bounce off of the tangled mess of the main chute. When the reserve chute finally deployed, I was over a suburban area full of houses and electrical lines. I managed to avoid missing the outstretched tines of a baco by about 10 feet. A second incident almost exactly a year later should have proved fatal but it did not. My point is this...there are no guarantees EVER. In the end, I will succumb to death like everybody else. How and when it happens are the only questions. It's not up to me to decide how others live their lives. best, Fezzy Pepper

Just happened upon this channel, very professionally documented, thank you. This is so tragically sad, but knowing he sadly died doing what he 'lived' for is somewhat closure. This incredible feat of strength and courage and talent scaling huge cliffs and mountains without the aid of being 'tied off' is beyond impressive, and those who have nothing kind to say should be quiet. Dan Rest In Peace wow so sad.
That picture of Mike Hatchett is not Mike Hatchett; that's Ron Kauk (Yosemite Climber).
Crazy 90% of climbers under 40 don't even know who 'Dan O' is. I'll never forget when my mom called me and asked 'did you know Daniel Osman'? I said no,....wait Dan O?? She had read about it in the Fresno Newspaper -way before news apps and current modes of lightning speed info sharing. We used to watch Masters of stone videos barely able to get up an 11a in the late 90's marveling at Dan O's skills So tragic that he was on a crash course with destiny. NO one ever imagined he would die from a snapped rope....
Great job on this documentary. Well presented and unbiased. ❤. As for Dan, yes, he had issues. As a former climber who was scoffed at almost always as a child by my dad and some of my 7 older siblings, I can relate in many ways. I climbed a 5.11 my first ever day on the rock. At 17 years old if I had known the sport and had any money for gear I could have been among those at world champion level. But God had other plans for me, and my faith led me to pursue a different path. Now I'm writing a book about the global flood of Noah's day and the scientific evidence of how that shaped our planet. I respect Dan, in spite of his mistakes. Love to his amazing and beautiful daughter also. God bless you for honoring your dad who loved you. ❤ Climb smart. Play hard. Live smarter. I don’t need to take any stupid risks or get an “adrenaline rush” to be fulfilled. Btw, I’ve experienced a REAL adrenaline rush, the kind that only really bad accidents/injuries and close calls can produce (I double open-fractured my arm, didn’t feel a thing because of the adrenaline). It was so intense that not only did I not feel a thing but I was shaking and dizzy like I had just done a bunch of coke or something. It wasn’t even enjoyable, it was just different. Nothing I’m in any hurry or even have any desire to repeat, and I have a very addictive personality, but it just seriously wasn’t what I’d consider enjoyable. There’s no euphoria in a real adrenaline rush like you can get from drugs, you’re purely in survival mode. It’s a stupid and crappy feeling to want to recreate imo.
