I was so thinking that too. He free-solo'd El Capitan, so if he says he wants to do 5 pull-ups, he does 5 pull-ups and that's awesome. I think he was making the point that it's kind of silly and almost irrelevant how many pull-ups you can do because that doesn't determine your skill-level in rock climbing, necessarily. The question about "how do climbers recover their gear when the finish climbing?", didn't really give me an answer that I could understand. When sport climbing or trad climbing, you take your own gear and and hook into the bolts (sport climbing), or attach your own safety devices (trad climbing). I understand that you can recover your rope easily, but how do you recover the safety devices, like the ones you hook to the bolts when sport climbing, or the ones you install in cracks and crevices when trad climbing? I'm not a climber, so excuse me if I didn't use the correct terms. This is a genuine question though, and any help understanding is much appreciated. Thanks in advance. ✌️
